Erm, a bit of a strange question really. Someone has started a thread and is asking for a dream to be interpretted. For some reason, God chose to give me the gift of dream interpretation which I have used on a few occassions to help people from church who hasve had very vivid dreams. Should I offer to see if God wants me to interpret the dream and make it clear that I am a Christian. Or should I stay well clear and let the more clairvoyant-type people interpret the dream? I don't want to be misunderstood and the gift is very much that - a gift for use by God, not a toy.

ZipadiSuzy · 28/01/2008 14:07

hia all you lovely ladies, just flying by with still an 'unsafe browser' but love and prayers for you all.

Felt like a taxi service this weekend, ds1 canoeing, dd 1st ballet lesson (soooo cute) then ds1 swimming club, then shop for dneic scrummy baby twins pressie, voluntarily put mi name down (as you do) to man a GCR Exhibition! (steam train mad aswell) was frozen to the spot with cold, then got home 5.30pm fell asleep till 8.00am sunday morning! as did ds1 I still feel tired!

Well will carry on praying for you all, I will be back at a 'safe browsing' moment!

boabsmum · 28/01/2008 14:13

Afternoon all

Could you pray for dh? He has an interview in Edinburgh at 3:30pm. This is the only thing that's come up so far (apart from the book writing) and it would be ideal for us - a contract until the end of May.

Obviously baby arrives in April, so I'd really like to be able to pay the mortgage again by then.

His current contract finishes at the end of February. The Lord's not let us down before, but the clock is ticking and my nesting instinct is pretty powerful! I just want to know we can still pay the bills in 6 weeks time

SS - Daniel interpreted dreams for non-believers as did Joseph. I would go for it, pray hard and if the Lord wants you to post then be open to his leading and guidance. State at the outset where you're coming from as a Christian and that you believe it's the Lord's interpretation and not yours. I can't see a problem

boabsmum · 28/01/2008 14:14

Interview is today btw!!

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2008 14:16

praying Bobsmum! Go your dh!
SS - what good news about the washer

DutchOma · 28/01/2008 14:51

Yes, I agree with Bobsmum about the interpretaition of dreams, so long as everybody knows that you are a Christian and that it is God's interpretation, not yours.

Good news about the washer.

Hope dh gets on alright Bobsmum, he must be just about arriving in Edinburgh now in time for the interview. As you say God has never let you down yet and won't now, but sometimes you feel like you are straphanging on the Underground, being buffeted on all sides. St Paul had one or two things to say about that too

How are you Podglet? And NSFN? How was the birthday party?

boabsmum · 28/01/2008 15:01

lol at mental image of Paul on the underground

Can I have a proud wifey moment while I'm here?

One of our deacons called dh to say she was sick and could dh come up with something as she was meant to be preaching. This at 9:30 on Sunday morning. I fully expected him to do a bit of prayer time or maybe a group Bible Study. But he shut himself in our room for 1/2 and hour saying he needed some thinking time and we left for church as usual at 10am.

He led the whole service and preached for 3/4 of an hour on the "I am the Gate' passage in John and it was was utterly stonking!!!!

Dh has always been very much a copious note taker and has wads of paper at the lecturn. This time it was him, a Bible and the Lord and it was inspiring stuff. Not that his other preaches aren't inspiring, but this was the Lord really using him. No one in the congregation knew that dh had had 1/2 and hour to get a passage and prepare until one of the guys in the worship band mentioned at the end that he'd only been phoned at 9:30am.

Anyway, dh now has more ffod for thought on the whole book writing/vocation thingy that's buzzing round his head. I think when he really lets God take charge, then his gift is shiningly apparent.

1/2 an hour til interview - have sweaty palms now!!

MaryBS · 28/01/2008 15:30

Praying Bobsmum, for your DH...

CaptainDippy · 28/01/2008 17:12

Great abut washing machine SS and yes I would offer to interpret dream and be v.forthright about where you are coming from. xx

Right, off to feed the hordes ......

PandaG · 28/01/2008 18:00

hello all

soudsn like some answers to prayers on the thread, praying the washer does indeed turn up on Wednesday!

Bm, please let us know how DH got on...I like DO's analogy. Praying you will have peace no matter what!

Life ok here, DS and DD still going on at each other hammer and tongs ythe majority of the time, but peace is reigning at the moment as they watch a bit of tv while dinner finishes! Please pray for wisdom in how to deal with them!

x

CaptainDippy · 28/01/2008 18:48

Praying that for you Panda ..... and for us all too!!

Roll on bedtime ........

OP posts:
DutchOma · 28/01/2008 20:33

Don't get involved Panda, let them fight it out.

notsofarnow · 28/01/2008 20:36

dd's party was a doddle. All food was ready by 8.30 did it all on my own - oven died half way through but luckily have a range cooker with two ovens so used the other one.

Party itself was great with 23 dc all school friends.

It's her bday tomorrow so have been wrapping pressies cheap birthday this year left over presents from chirstmas dd2's recycled wooden swinging crib and silver cross pram.

Sick note runs out tomorrow and have been on nvq study day today went onto the ward and felt like frightened rabbit, just wanted to cry it was awful so i've rung gp for continuation of sick note. Maybe I not as better as I thought I was.

CaptainCaveman · 28/01/2008 21:41

Aw NSFN, take it very gentle on yourself - you have been , and still are, ill. Well done for getting as far as you have done, take it slowly and you'll be back before you know it . I'm pleased that you got that sicknote, God isn't done with making you better yet and He doesn't want you making yourself worse. Much easier said than done but try not to feel bad about work - it will still exist and cope whether you are there or not. YOU are the one who is important!

Sooz! Were you at Ruddington yesterday? I took ds kite flying at Rushcliffe Park! Would've popped in to say hello if you were there!!

Bobsmum - when did you become boabsmum?

Swaliswan - I was praying about your washing machine as I read the thread just now, then as I scanned up I saw your next post. "wow" i thought, "that was quick prayer work!!" Praising God for your new washing machine, and praying that it really does arrive on wednesday.

Ok, off to bed as I'm whacked - praying for you all. My friend would most likely appreciate our prayers as her baby is due today and she would very much like labour to start - now if possible!!
xxx

DutchOma · 28/01/2008 22:03

Well indeed NSFN maybe you not as better as you thought. It is very early days, my doctor in similar circumstances asked me once how long it had taken me to get into this situation and why I expected to be out of it in a few days. Yes, well right there you are then.
Hope you are in bed, glad the birthday party went alright.

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2008 10:53

Glad the party went well nsfn - and glad you have decided to try and get an continuation of thw sick note - Take it easy - Rome wasn't built in a day - You have got to let yourself get properly better 1st. xxxxx

cc - hia, no we were at Loughborough, rud is closed till easter, prayers for your friend having her baby [[[[push]]]

boabsmum · 29/01/2008 13:51

CC - became boabsmum for Burns' Night on Friday and forgot to change it back

Dh said his interview went well as far as he can tell. THere are 2 other candidates and the employers are looking for a quick start so we'll hear back this week.

There's absolutely zlich all out there atm, so unless the Lord has another plan (always possible!), we need this job!

Notquitegrownup · 29/01/2008 16:22

Flying by with a quick request. My boss is reconsidering my position at work tonight - will involve a change of hours (more, or less) and a change in what I do. Your prayers would be appreciated that she will be fair, and that I will know how to respond too, to be using my time as God wants. Lord, please help me to put the situation in your hands, and not to grab it back!

Just wanted to share with you that I started piano lessons last week. So far, I've had to and I love it!! I've wanted to learn since I was about 5. I'm now 45!!

God bless all.

Scootergrrrl · 29/01/2008 18:47

Hiya everyone. Please could you pray for my friend L who is really struggling at the moment with coming to terms with her husband's lack of faith. He has always been an atheist but does not accept how important God is to her.
I've just started attending a prayer group at church and have made a dramatic entrance by bursting into tears at the end of each group I don't know why, it just all seems very emotional. I won't carry on like this, will I? Will they all think I'm an eejit? I've always been a Christian but only recently really started to understand it all. Hope that makes sense.

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 18:58

Hi Scootergrrl - from what I've seen bursting into tears at church/prayer group/home group (or in my case at a Christianity Explored we did after our mum and baby group) is very, very normal. I also think it's very, very wonderful - shows our hearts have been touched by something - and it's good to share that. Thing is - if someone came up to you and said 'I love you, I will always love you and forgive you, nothing you can do will make me let go of you. To keep you safe, to give you hope of a future I will die for you' - well you'd cry wouldn't you? I know I would - and do because that is what Christ did for me. Off to find tissues now

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 18:59

Sorry - praying for your friend and her dh as well of course and for NQGU and your work situation. And for good news for Bobsmum and family.

Scootergrrrl · 29/01/2008 19:04

Now I'm crying AGAIN! But it's good crying, if you know what I mena. Thanks for that

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 19:05

I know what you mean - doing a bit of that myself

Scootergrrrl · 29/01/2008 19:08

I feel like daft, blubbing all over the place. If I'm going to carry on with this prayer business, I'll definitely need some waterproof mascara
