don't wear any myself - now I can see why Yes definately invets in some - and a box of tissues and keep on praying - because it works!

notsofarnow · 29/01/2008 19:47

Dd has had lovely birthday. Loads of pressies.

I've painted the living room today with the help of two friends. But I don't feel well this afternoon. stomach cramps, feel sick, think i've got a sore throat glands etc. ugh ugh ugh. Maybe it will force me to sit still for 5 mins.

Got a surveyor coming tomorrow re: remortgage, the place is a tip oh well never mind.

Very much feel like i've taken a step back today, need to ring work tomorrow and tell them i've got a sick note for another two weeks.

So so tired, need to go have a bath or shower but can't be bothered. I'm covered in paint.

MaryBS · 29/01/2008 20:31

{hugs} NSFN

Just wanted to share with you something DS said today. We were walking past a verge of grass, and he said "who does that belong to?" I said "I don't know". He said "It is the Lord's". Awwww!

Scooter, I can feel a particular empathy with your friend L, in that my DH is an agnostic and has made "great strides" in his understanding of how much it means to me, in the past couple of years. Will pray that it is the same for L. As for blubbing in church, I'm not so bad now, but when I first started going to where I am now, I would regularly pop outside for a blub, before going back in and carrying on!

Panda, praying that the peace that surpasses all understanding will bring understanding to your LOs!

Must crack on, I've started to look at my study material for this module. It's interesting stuff though. I am looking at writing an "all-age" sermon for Harvest atm. Feel free to contribute! Seems a strange time of year to be doing it!

podglet · 29/01/2008 20:38

Hi all,

NSFN - glad the party went well. Take it easy and take more time if you need it, like DO's theory...

CC - praying for labour for your friend and hope you are feeling less tired today.

CD - hey you - waves

DO - have you still got DD and Z? Hope all ok.

Want to give thanks today as we traipsed to London for Ds's check up at Moorfields eye hospital (he is checked every 6 months to ensure he doesn't develop the same problems I have) - He is fine, his eyes are beautifully clear he charmed everybody there (the doctor gave him 2 stickers for being a good boy!) I am so pleased

I'm back to work tomorrow too - hoping for not too clogged in box and that things have been done in my absence (I can hope...)

podglet · 29/01/2008 20:47

I'm so sorry, perhaps they should have checked my eyes again today - I seem to have missed a whole page of posts...

Scootergrrl - will pray for your friend and her DH and for your own prayers

NSFN - glad you have another 2 weeks off - don't see them as a step back but as a step forward to allow yourself to recover further. Hope the icky feeling is caused by over work and paint smells rather than any bug. Hope you get a good night's rest.

NL - hi - hope you are ok...

BM - fingers crossed for good news for your DH

Roseylea · 29/01/2008 20:53

Hello all!

Podglet so glad that your gorgeous ds's etes are all clear!

NSFN {{{hugs}}} Take it easy and take it one step at a time.

NQGU ooooh how exciting to have piano lessons! I got up to grade 4 ( I think) at school and would love to go back to it one day. Praying for your work.

Mary your work sounds interesting! Must be hard to think about harvest at this time of year, though - a bit like going to the supermarket when you're not hungry...!

Scootergirl the Lord bless you and your prayer group and all your tears! Holy tears can be very healing.

I need prayers too! I've had some chest pains this week so I went to the doctor today and she's given me strong antibiotics and said that my lungs sound a bit dodgy . As some of you know, I've had a few nasty chest infections over the last few years so please pray that the antibiotics are effective and that I am in rude health soon! I'm not really really ill though; I think and hope I've caught it at the very start.

And just to let you know, I have handed in my notice at work! I'm going to carry on going into the school 3 hours a week as a volunteer and helping to run the Christian club, but this frees up so much of my time. And dh has just started his new job, which, praise God pays enough to cover my not earning! (just about). I made this decision a few weeks ago and since then have felt such peace that it's the right decision at the right time. So thank you God for showing me the way forward!

Walnutshell · 29/01/2008 20:56

Argh, haven't been around and can't keep up! Am trying to include all in prayers. Thanks all for prayers for friend's dh and his job situation - he had an interview yesterday so... And for friend with anxious pregnancy, another scan on Friday. Thank you.

CCM - as of last year relocated to sunny (sometimes) Devon. How is your friend's labour going - or not going?

Notquite - am also an adult learner of piano! It's great!

Second Christianity Explored tomorrow morning which I'm looking forward to. Very interested, enjoying church services, met some brilliant people... am really feeling like I will never get 'there' though.

Love to all x

DutchOma · 29/01/2008 21:35

Rosey, that is good news. Glad you came to this decision. I know you were thinking about giving up at Christmas and I wondered whether you had thought about it any more. Hope your chest infection clears up very soon.
WS. On your own you will never get "there", but in Christ you have the victory and you are already "there".
BM Praying that this job is the one the Lord wants dh to have.
Podglet, no Zac and dd went back on Friday and although we had a few good days, I am back walking on eggshells again and she is just ranting and raving at everthing and everybody. There is a thread under AIBU and I would post there myself if only NQGU hadn't said once that you always get someone who thinks you're in the wrong

Swaliswan · 30/01/2008 10:24

DO I feel for you. I can ocmpletely understand how your DD is feeling and we sometimes have similar, although less angry scenes in the Swaliswan household. I don't think it helps that DH can't cope with the idea that DD cries because she is tired and the more you do to help her sleep eg rocking, patting, sh-sh-ing actually wakes her up and makes her cry more. We're going through the same episode as your DD in trying to get DD to settle without loads of help or milk throughout the night. I did lose it at one point last night when DH decided he couldn't listen to DD cry and got me up to feed her. I've tried explaining that getting up every 2-3 hours is making me next to useless during the day and she is more than capable of sleeping without me helping her as she has done it several times before. She's not even hungry and whilst I don't begrudge her the comfort, it is now time for me to get some uninterrupted sleep like DH has been enjoying. Having said all of that, I know that I can be so unreasonable towards DH when I'm tired and know that he is not intentionally wanting me to be sleep deprived.

DD is currently having her morning nap - in her cot! Thank-you Lord that she is sleeping while we wait for this washing machine to be delivered. Thank-you Lord.

Everyone else, I have been reading your posts and praying for you all. How are all the pg ladies doing atm?

CaptainDippy · 30/01/2008 10:36

Yey for sleeping DD's eh, SS!

Glad you are loving the piano lessons, NQGU - Praying for work situ - All in God's time .....

Scooter - great to "see" you Praying for your friend L, must be tough - Praying for a miracle to happen in her DH (and yours too, Mary - and anyone else who has a non-believing DH/DP ) xxxx

Glad you are feeling positive about leaving your job and loking forward to what God has in store Rosey Praying for healing for your chest sweetie - DON'T DO TOO MUCH!!!!! xxxx

nsfn - Glad Party was lovely and room is painted NOW YOU TAKE IT EASY TOO, YOUNG LADY!!!!!

Praying for all those who are ill and run-down, including my DH - he is really stuggling and it is putting a lot of strain and guilt on me atm

Sigh.

Podglet - Sooooo pleased about your DS' eyes and that he was such a good boy at the hospital - Good news, praise God!!

Lots of Praise! Lots of Prayers!

Sooooooooooz - email me!!!!!!!!!!

Swaliswan · 30/01/2008 13:37

The washing machine is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and you should all go and look at DO's photos to see just how talented she is!

boabsmum · 30/01/2008 13:42

Hurrah for clean clothes SS Couldn't live without mine - I think it actually has a personality sometimes...

Mary - lol at the Lord's grass - v sweet

My ds told me last week that I was "a bit like Jesus' I asked why and he said "Because you can make people too" I had to confess that God was actually helping me out on that one and I couldn't really claim the credit for creation

amber32002 · 30/01/2008 13:56

Haven't been posting these last few days, but I'm still reading and praying...

boabsmum · 30/01/2008 14:34

Dh just phoned!! he got the job!!!!!! !!

He will be kind of project managing communications for the Scottish Exec (ie the Govt!!) in their Mental Health dept (not sure what the official name is).

Anyway, the contract will finish in the middle of May - so we will be solvent til then and possibly beyond if we're very very good with savings and not spending between now and then.

Of course there's the small matter of another baby arriving between now and then but hey - some fluffy cotton and boobs and s/he's provided for really

The small dilemma will be that dh will be working in Edinburgh over my due date and the hospital is in Glasgow. I'm somewhere between the two. and my parents will be in Portugal. This could be interesting......

tHankyou everyone for praying for us!!!! Much appreciated

Swaliswan · 30/01/2008 15:01

Yay for bobsmum's DH! Huge congratulations! My DH was born in Bellshill which I believe is between Glasgow and Edinburgh is that anywhere near to you?

boabsmum · 30/01/2008 15:04

SS - it's SE of Glasgow so probably a couple of hours from where I am now but very close to where my grandparents were in Motherwell. I'm NW of Glasgow - about 45 mins from the city centre.

Swaliswan · 30/01/2008 15:13

Bellshill isn't going to help matters then! My knowledge of Scottish geography is shocking considering how much of DH's family lives in Scotland. I went to glasgow for work a few years ago and had to travel out to Greenock but other than that I have no knowledge of the area you live in. I quite fancy going to live there but that's not much help to you and the birth of your LO.

DutchOma · 30/01/2008 15:30

Oh Bobsmum, I'm so happy he got the job, wonderful. It will all work out, you'll see.
And congratulations SS on the arrival of the washing machine and thank you for your kind comments.

MaryBS · 30/01/2008 16:50

Fantastic news bobsmum! An answer to prayer! Praise God!

amber32002 · 30/01/2008 16:55

So pleased to hear about the job - congrats to him

PandaG · 30/01/2008 18:05

MaryBS · 30/01/2008 18:40

Please pray for our parish (again), it seems the stirrers are at it again! Please pray for God's blessings on our church.

Notquitegrownup · 30/01/2008 19:18

"There is a thread under AIBU and I would post there myself if only NQGU hadn't said once that you always get someone who thinks you're in the wrong" - DO did I really say that? Wonder what I meant?! I hope that I didn't stop you posting if you felt that you needed to!

Flying by. God bless all.

DutchOma · 30/01/2008 19:40

It was at the meet-up and we were talking about the AIBU thread and you said you were hesitant posting there because there was always someone who disagreed with you.
I have been very tempted once or twice and then thought better of it. I feel that I need to exercise my charity in this respect iykwim.

Roseylea · 30/01/2008 20:47

My chest is feeling okay, thank the Lord! I'm trying to write my essay tonight; it's going v - e - r - y s - l - o - w - l - y - !
