DutchOmainapeartree · 13/12/2007 21:00

We pray for ourselves:- that we may make time to be "Marys" as well as "Marthas" in all the busy-ness leading up to Christmas.

We pray for our precious husbands in the words of the prayer I quoted earlier:-

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;? and?
we won't go into the rest of the prayer so close to Christmas. (Full text on the old thread)

Pray for NorthernLurker's dh to find a job soon and for Harrisey's dh to find the strength to do a stressful job. Also for Bobsmum's dh to find a new job before February. We pray for peace and quiet over Christmas in all household, especially where dh is not fully committed to the Christian faith, that they may see the loveliness of Jesus around them.
We pray for those without husbands, for NSFN and Mummy2T&F. Also for Creambunnie.

We pray for our children; from the tiny unborns (Podglet, Bobsmum and CaptainCaveman) to include all our children young and not so young. Pray that we will be able to show them the love of Christ. That we may be able to protect them, help them. We pray for Roseylea's dd, Bobsmums ds, Mary's ds, NQGU's ds, that they may be able to cope with life at school and with the holidays.

We pray for those who have suffered bereavement, for QoQ family on the loss of their much loved grandfather. For Mufti's dh who lost his father recently as did Santas(Shreks)missus' dh.
We pray for Pepperpots in her loss

We pray for those with worries over sick friends and relatives, for Spookymadmummy's Mum and for her stepdad, just out of hospital, for CaptainCaveman's friend and little one in hospital, (Lord if possible, bring her out of hospital before Christmas) also for her teenage friend with eating disorders. We also pray for CC's dsis and her dd. Lord, we pray Your healing over that whole family.
We pray with Muppetgirl for her mil and her mother, who is ill and a long way away.
Lulumama and Rubyslippers' grandma.
We also remember OJ and Steve and their 3dcs in our prayers.

We give thanks with Geekymummy for healing in her marriage for PandaG doing well in her new job and enjoying it.
We pray for TheWiltedRose that she may have a very happy Christmas and that she may come to see the One Who is behind it all.
And we pray for CaptainDippy that she may feel surrounded by the love of Christ who is the Provider in all her needs.
We pray for 'absent friends', for Soozy, Creambunnie and MumtoGusandAlbie
Lord, we bring You our prayers and our worship in this Christmas period.

Fantastic news SMM, God is good!

CaptainCaveman · 21/12/2007 20:51

Hey Mary! Thought you were missing in action! Glad to see you are ok x

podglet · 21/12/2007 21:28

Evening lovely ladies,

Normal service has resumed here. All ok and happy in Podglet land. Dp and I have now finished work for Christmas, though DP has to go back on the 27th (the joys of being an accountant are endless ) so we are both more relazed.

Had a horrid day at work today, so much so that my boss let me go at 4, rather than stay til 5.30 because I was struggling. However, scan went really well, one perfectly lovely and average size bean kicking about - tis good because DS was off the top of every chart at the same point!

Captains - hope you are both well. CD - hope DD2 is feeling better.

Mufti - glad the funeral went "well" and that MIL has found God in such a special way. Hope her Christmas isn't too sad.

SMM - fab news

DO - praying for your cough to stay sat on

MaryB - how is DS with the change in routine at the mo? Hope all ok.

If I don't get on before Christmas, hope you all have a wonderful and special time with those you love.

notsofarnow · 21/12/2007 21:36

hmmm not so sure whether it has made me feel better for christmas tbh as tonight he was coming to mine from work to take dc to his when I came in he was already here had just got off the phone and was doing his nut. Ranting and raving and throwing his weight around. Basically he had just got off phone to dc about his letter to dvla to say he is fit to drive - should be today but dc hasn't done anything iwh the letter and now says he wants to see him as he is a new patient.

Now i can understand his frustration but it just wound allof us up. I ended up screaming at dd1 because she had left pasta bake in oven for an hour and it was ruined. dd3 was tormenting the dog so she got a smack.

Just reminded me of what life was like this time last year. It's so not fair. I don't want to shout at the kids but I do it all the time. Feel like a bad mummy. And just when I thought I would get a lie in till oh lets say 8.30 on sun morning he now on about bringing them all back tomorrow as he is buying things like chesses, pate, dips and wont be able to fit them on his shelf in his fridge so he will have to bring all the kids back so Ican put the food in my fridge.

Sorry for whinging but new next door neighbours started moving furniture round at midnight last nigh ds wet the bedin middle of night and they've been up since 5.45

Really i've got no right to whinge been to seen df tonight she looks awful, she has been told she will definately not behome for chirstmas so first christmas without dad and now mum too.

Roseylea · 22/12/2007 19:22

Hello Emdale and welcome! (Your name reminds me of Emmerdale - is that still on the telly?)

I am doing better - less stressed, hallelujah! I feel like I'm nearly there with the christmas jobs, and it feels good to have ticked lots of things off my list. But both the dc have come down with a bug and ds is feeling really sorry for himself (this explains all the tantrums). Please pray that they both recover quickly in time for christmas!

If you've got time, read http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article3084902.ece this article from today's Times. I found it really inspiring.

Love and prayers for all. Have a wonderful christmas and thank you so very much for all your prayers, love and support! You are so deeply appreciated!

Roseylea · 22/12/2007 19:23

aaagh! try link again...

this

Roseylea · 22/12/2007 19:24

i love that quote from Julian of Norwich - God "comes down to our lowest point of need".

whenachildisbob · 22/12/2007 19:45

Roseylea - happy belated birthday!!

Glad everything's calming down for you

We're still living in a bomb site, but the last of the heating engineers have gone (for now) and the boiler is whooshing away behind me keeping me v cosy.

Praise God for the holidays - I get my lovely ds to myself for 2 weeks and dh is off until the 2nd too. Got all the food in yesterday and dh got an unexpected cheque from a forum he moderates so that covered the shopping bill - God is good!

Have posted a new photo of me and the bump - just for you CD - I know you like bean photos !

Am loving Christmas build up this year - both dd and ds are loving the Christmas story over and over again, although we have Bob the builder and a few safari animals in our play nativity set atm. Noddy is going to pay homage tomorrow

DutchOmainapeartree · 22/12/2007 20:33

Oh I love that photo too, Bobsmum.
Happy Christmas and keep warm.

Lovely photo bob! I'm still trying to spot your house on that photo you posted....

MarsyChristmas · 22/12/2007 21:18

Thank you all for your prayers!

3 of my 4 December ladies have now given birth. The 3rd at 4.09am this morning! My end of December lady who insisted that I take her on is now waiting patiently. Please pray that her baby is born after Christmas so that I can have a few days of sitting still with my family.

Have a wonderful Christmas all of you. (Need to take my knackered self off to bed... if I could just stop clicking refresh!)

notsofarnow · 22/12/2007 21:52

bobsmum that is such a gorgeous place to live

Was up half the night with a dodgy tummy, struggled to work (shouldn't have gone) but who going to believe your sick the sat before christmas. Eventually sent me home at 2p.m.

But did feel a lot better this eve so have been to emdale's churches community carol service. Very good too.

Please pray i get a full nights sleep and don't wake up early in morning. dc are at their dads and i could soooo do with a lie in.

Helloo

Thank you for the link to Summersun DO. Thinking of her. Isn't MN a great place, though, where people can come to talk in this way.

Flying by - I'm still ill!!! I thought I was getting better, but my temperature shot back up and so I'm still in my pyjamas, after 5 days! It's like being six again! The boys are a lot better now, fortunately. I think we may be all up by Christmas Day . . .

God bless all

DutchOmainapeartree · 23/12/2007 12:19

What are you doing behind the computer then NQCY? Eh? . At least put a cardigan on over your pyamas.
