DutchOmainapeartree · 13/12/2007 21:00

We pray for ourselves:- that we may make time to be "Marys" as well as "Marthas" in all the busy-ness leading up to Christmas.

We pray for our precious husbands in the words of the prayer I quoted earlier:-

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;? and?
we won't go into the rest of the prayer so close to Christmas. (Full text on the old thread)

Pray for NorthernLurker's dh to find a job soon and for Harrisey's dh to find the strength to do a stressful job. Also for Bobsmum's dh to find a new job before February. We pray for peace and quiet over Christmas in all household, especially where dh is not fully committed to the Christian faith, that they may see the loveliness of Jesus around them.
We pray for those without husbands, for NSFN and Mummy2T&F. Also for Creambunnie.

We pray for our children; from the tiny unborns (Podglet, Bobsmum and CaptainCaveman) to include all our children young and not so young. Pray that we will be able to show them the love of Christ. That we may be able to protect them, help them. We pray for Roseylea's dd, Bobsmums ds, Mary's ds, NQGU's ds, that they may be able to cope with life at school and with the holidays.

We pray for those who have suffered bereavement, for QoQ family on the loss of their much loved grandfather. For Mufti's dh who lost his father recently as did Santas(Shreks)missus' dh.
We pray for Pepperpots in her loss

We pray for those with worries over sick friends and relatives, for Spookymadmummy's Mum and for her stepdad, just out of hospital, for CaptainCaveman's friend and little one in hospital, (Lord if possible, bring her out of hospital before Christmas) also for her teenage friend with eating disorders. We also pray for CC's dsis and her dd. Lord, we pray Your healing over that whole family.
We pray with Muppetgirl for her mil and her mother, who is ill and a long way away.
Lulumama and Rubyslippers' grandma.
We also remember OJ and Steve and their 3dcs in our prayers.

We give thanks with Geekymummy for healing in her marriage for PandaG doing well in her new job and enjoying it.
We pray for TheWiltedRose that she may have a very happy Christmas and that she may come to see the One Who is behind it all.
And we pray for CaptainDippy that she may feel surrounded by the love of Christ who is the Provider in all her needs.
We pray for 'absent friends', for Soozy, Creambunnie and MumtoGusandAlbie
Lord, we bring You our prayers and our worship in this Christmas period.

Only news about df so far is that at 8p.m she was still in recovery went to theatre at 2 now that to me doesn't sound good to start with. Her ds who is actually my bf said that they were taling of a colostomy.

Just pray that whatever they've done to her she recovers really quickly.

Please pray for tomorrow am going to a funeral of a dear lady who was my treasurer at our first appointment. She was such a godly lady and knew everything about the churches finances. She will be dearly missed. But please pray because xh is coming to bit concerned about 1)spending all day with him (although will be 2 days over chirstmas 2) its his first time inside a church since easter sunday and the time before that was last years carol service.
I just don't know how he going to react to being in a church and its the first funeral since his mothers. agh why am I worrying about him.

Also dd1 wants to come.

Also another df has her driving test tomorrow.

Don't really have any great pearls of wisdom to give to anyone else but am reading and thinking of you all.

DutchOmainapeartree · 19/12/2007 21:56

DO - you are so thoughtful and so lovely - I echo all of those prayers. Praying for all the lost and for all the bereaved as we come up to this extremely special and potentially painful time of year. Keep them all safe, Lord - Wrap them all up in your Love and protect them. xx

nsfn - {{{{{hugs}}}}} Praying for you today - See it as a "practise run" for Christmas! Praying for the family of the lovely lady who has died and thanking God for her long and full life! thank you Lord that she was able to give so much to help churches. xx Continuing to pray for your DF and for your BF - Praying that whatever has happened that is ok and will pull through, keep us informed. xx

Roseylea · 20/12/2007 16:25

Hello all!

I could really do with some prayer, if tere are any going around!

It's my birthday today and I'm feeling really low - I know why; it's just that I've got over-busy and over-streseed what with christmas, the end of term, etc etc. Work has been hard over the last month due to absent colleagues (I've been doing a double workload) and the dc are tired and grouchy (end of term-itis - ds has had one tantrum after another every day for the last fortnight) and I feel emotionally used-up and hollow after dealing with so much rubbish from them. And there are so many jobs to do before christmas - life just seems like one long to-do list and one situation to manage after another.

I had planned a really nice "me-time" day today but it all went wrong - dd was awake half the night ill and couldn't go into school today, and has been really grotty-moody here with me! Help Lord!

Please pray that I can get my joy back and that the dc bounce back quickly from their tired grouchy bad moods. I'm going out with friends tonight - please pray that I can genuiunely let my hair down and enjoy myself!

I'm sure I can't be the only mum feeling like this at this time of year, so let's pray for all frazzled mums and for harmony in families.

DutchOmainapeartree · 20/12/2007 16:41

Rosey dear, in the first place HAPPY BIRTHDAY .

But what an awful long time to wait before telling us you are feeling so low.
We could have been praying for you for a fortnight sweetheart. Lots of people will be feeling as you do for one reason or another and it will no doubt all come right on the night.
Have a wonderful evening lovey and let your hair down with your friends. Has school broken up yet? Is it dd's eczema that is playing her up?

OP posts:
notsofarnow · 20/12/2007 20:06

Wow its quiet on here today. Praying for those frazzled nerves ds and dd is exactly the same and guess what even the older two are like wound up springs and there 15 and 13.

df failed her driving test and the other friend who was in theatre didn't come back till very late last night because of pain control. She has had a colostomy has a tube down her nose draining muck out of her stomach, a cathetar, a morphine pump and a horrible doctor told her to postpone christmas. Poor, poor love. Am going to try and get to see her but visiting doesn't exactly fit in with family life does it.

DutchOmainapeartree · 20/12/2007 20:41

And you haven't even told us about the funeral yet nsfn

CaptainCaveman · 20/12/2007 20:54

Praying for all my wonderful friends on this thread, and for all of their cares too.

Praise for the most wonderful interview candidates - we even left with smiles on our faces after 2 full days of it!!! Thank You God.

Apart from tiredness and the odd wave of nausea I keep forgetting I'm pg!! Praise God for feeling well.

Happy Birthday Rosey - you little minx, fancy not telling us!! 21 again?

Where is Sooz, I miss her . And Mary seems to have vanished too .
CD did you get chance to ring Sooz?

My friend in hosp is having ECT twice a week and finally noticed a little improvement this week - PRAISE GOD. They are hoping she might get home overnight for Christmas but depends on how she is on the day. Father God we pray for your healing power to touch D and lift her from her depression. Amen.

notsofarnow · 20/12/2007 21:18

Funeral was fab. Had to go pick xh up as he had overslept. Hall was packed standing room only. Lots of tears but loads of lovely memories too. You know she was one of the kindest hard working women I have ever known. I've driven 100 miles am knackered, I think i've got a sore throat, cant get warm, got ulcers on my tongue - nightmare

notsofarnow · 20/12/2007 21:58

well when I say fab in terms of being promoted to glory in that she is now with her Lord and Saviour

DutchOmainapeartree · 20/12/2007 21:59

Yes funerals can be fab. We went to one last week.
Have you got any echinacea, that is fab for all those aches and pains that attack us at this time of year. I woke up with a tremendous cough (no, you're right, it never quite went away and this morning reared its ugly head again at 5.30) but I think I've sat on it again.

thank you for the novel, CD,
it's brill
did you do that all in one go, or a bit at a time ?, lovely pic on the front, will read it properly later.
you seem to have managed to sum DIPPY life up well, hectic, but fun. did you speak to sooz btw?
we have all had colds, dh has man flu, which is even worse, iykwim, glad the NQCY have hopefully got their illness out of the way before christmas. we are staying put now , and having my mum, which i am glad about, dh rings his mum everyday atm, and of course she has good days and bad days she will have company at christmas, and when she sounds better, it makes him feel better, and seems to ease the guilt he
gives himself.
we are going up in january to bury the ashes at a special site where they then plant a tree on top. hope that goes ok.
