We pray for ourselves:- that we may make time to be "Marys" as well as "Marthas" in all the busy-ness leading up to Christmas.

We pray for our precious husbands in the words of the prayer I quoted earlier:-

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;? and?
we won't go into the rest of the prayer so close to Christmas. (Full text on the old thread)

Pray for NorthernLurker's dh to find a job soon and for Harrisey's dh to find the strength to do a stressful job. Also for Bobsmum's dh to find a new job before February. We pray for peace and quiet over Christmas in all household, especially where dh is not fully committed to the Christian faith, that they may see the loveliness of Jesus around them.
We pray for those without husbands, for NSFN and Mummy2T&F. Also for Creambunnie.

We pray for our children; from the tiny unborns (Podglet, Bobsmum and CaptainCaveman) to include all our children young and not so young. Pray that we will be able to show them the love of Christ. That we may be able to protect them, help them. We pray for Roseylea's dd, Bobsmums ds, Mary's ds, NQGU's ds, that they may be able to cope with life at school and with the holidays.

We pray for those who have suffered bereavement, for QoQ family on the loss of their much loved grandfather. For Mufti's dh who lost his father recently as did Santas(Shreks)missus' dh.
We pray for Pepperpots in her loss

We pray for those with worries over sick friends and relatives, for Spookymadmummy's Mum and for her stepdad, just out of hospital, for CaptainCaveman's friend and little one in hospital, (Lord if possible, bring her out of hospital before Christmas) also for her teenage friend with eating disorders. We also pray for CC's dsis and her dd. Lord, we pray Your healing over that whole family.
We pray with Muppetgirl for her mil and her mother, who is ill and a long way away.
Lulumama and Rubyslippers' grandma.
We also remember OJ and Steve and their 3dcs in our prayers.

We give thanks with Geekymummy for healing in her marriage for PandaG doing well in her new job and enjoying it.
We pray for TheWiltedRose that she may have a very happy Christmas and that she may come to see the One Who is behind it all.
And we pray for CaptainDippy that she may feel surrounded by the love of Christ who is the Provider in all her needs.
We pray for 'absent friends', for Soozy, Creambunnie and MumtoGusandAlbie
Lord, we bring You our prayers and our worship in this Christmas period.

Hi CC! xx

DutchOmainapeartree · 02/01/2008 22:18

Bobsmum, the only thing I can think is:- would it glorify God and please Him if this book gets written?
'Cause if it does it will get written, if with the help and support of your dh so much the better, if not...God will provide something better for him.

sooz which opticians was that because that seems ludicrous. Got dd glasses from specsavers and with the voucher that allchildren get i think I paid £35. I assume for asigmatism its not that complicated a prescription. How old is he because when they are tiny the optianians said they get a small frame allowance and a small child should never be charged for glasses that what i was told 10 yrs ago by an optician who used to say to me go find the glasses you want and tell me the make and model and i'll get them for you for nothing.

Sorry i'm rambling should go and get dc dressed.

ZipadiSuzy · 03/01/2008 11:40

NSFN - He has always been very slightly long sighted and not need glasses but this astigmatism added seems to warrant glasses, apparently helps focus long and short distance reading. His lenses are £60 then the basic metal frames are £35 but then they offer 2 pairs for a bit more, and with a child who is hyperactive, dyspraxic its a better deal to get 2 pairs......... that always catches me out - saying all that, I'm going to sleep on it for a few days and have a shop around.

Feeling pants today, have a stye, a coldsore, ear ache, sore throat & swollen glands, just want to lay down...... hybernate, can't I be a hedgehog for a while!

Have to go out though, to Makro to get carpet cleaner solution and card/paper for ds birthday on 5th

Must stop moaning, must stop moaning,
must stop moaning, must stop moaning!

DutchOmainapeartree · 03/01/2008 13:02

Soozy, that sounds horrible. As NSFN says, which optician is it, children should have vouchers for specs from any optician. Just checked on Boots website, children under 19 in full time education should have free specs. Adidas frames are from £44, I know we still get blamed for making our kids wear horrible specs, but they were always free, couldn't do anything else.
This two for the price of one is a bit of a lark as well, since they have to replace them when kids break them.
Hope you soon feel better, even without hibernation

PaperChain · 03/01/2008 18:41

Hello everyone. I've not been around for a while, but spotted this thread and wanted to say hi

PCx (aka naswm and losty)

CaptainDyson · 03/01/2008 19:25

Popping - will email you all soon, just need to get a few spares moment!

NASWM / Losty / PaperChain - lovely too "see" you honey - How is it going atm?? xx

whenachildisbob · 03/01/2008 19:30

Snow snow snow!! Ds and dd have had so much fun the afternoon - we have a v cute snowman. Dh thankfully came home early after I emailed him some snowy pictures of our garden. Was a but scary on one stretch of road home but he's back in one piece ptl.

SPD bad today. Could you ladies pray for me - we've got a family of four coming for 3 nights and I really need to get the house straight by tomorrow afternoon, but it really hurts atm. Just a break from the pain for long enough to get the minimum done is all I need. Friend is a midwife so I'll get good advice once she's here, but I would like them to come to a clean/tidy house rather than a midden!

Will try to post snowy pictures if I can

DutchOmainapeartree · 03/01/2008 19:36

Lovely to 'see' you Paperchain. How are you?

CaptainDyson? How's he? Has he eaten our Dippy?

DutchOmainapeartree · 03/01/2008 19:36

Who's he, even.

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 03/01/2008 20:18

Have you had a new hoover Dippy?

PaperChain · 03/01/2008 20:32

Hi friends - I am ok. Sore face atm (got burnt at the weekend) but sort of doing ok.

DingdongMaryBonhigh · 03/01/2008 21:20

{hugs} PaperChain, its good to see you back.

Sooz - I should shop around on the Specs, I think even some of the opticians are having sales atm!

Bobsmum - praying for you and yours, God is good, who knows better than he does as to what we need?

Hi Ruby, good to see you around too!

RL - if you need me to read anything, you know where I am... did you find that gift cert btw? If not, I'll contact them see what happened to it...

Off to bed now, under the weather a bit. Could also do with some prayers. Maybe I'm heading for "the change", my emotions are like a yo-yo atm! DH has been feeling down too, and he's been my rock, so I can't let anything happen to him!

DutchOmainapeartree · 03/01/2008 21:38

Please pray for Dumbledoresgirl who has started a returning to teaching course not knowing whether she really wants to return to teaching. Two youngest dcs are poorly, so is dh. He has got to go back to work on Monday, dcs need to be well enough to go to school for DG to go to the course. Only lasts 5 1/2 weeks so difficult to miss any of it.

Not looking forward to it but have no option. Even tho tyre garage is part way home I cant get all the stuff, kids, dog and tyres in the boot.

MarsLady · 04/01/2008 02:21

My lady will be having a c-birth tomorrow. Please pray that all goes well and that she loses the negative thoughts about her body.

Cheers darling!

Roseylea · 04/01/2008 08:30

Hello Paperchain! Lovely to see you - may this year be a really good one for you.

Bobsmum I'm a bit of your snowman! We had a few flakes and the dc rushed out into the garden to put them on their tongues! Praying for you and dh, esp. as he ponders this interesting proposal of ghost-writing.

Praying for your lady, Marsy!

What a pian about your car, NSFN. Have you found a retreat yet? I'm hoping to go to the one in Oxford soon-ish, but it's probably a bit far from where you live...

Mary I will take you up on your offer - but I won't hit you with it all at once! Hope you and your dh are feeling much better soon xxx. I will e-mail you later.

How are you today Sooz? {{hugs}}

I am adding my prayers for Dumbledore'sGirl to DO's. It's hard, having to make these decisions sometimes...

Well guess what? Dh and I have a child-free night tonight! The dc are staying with their grandparents on the farm, so I'm sending them off with wellies and hotties and planty of dd-friendly food. It's the first time they've spent a night away from home! Eeeek! (the gps are lovely and the dc know them really well, they just haven't slept there before). And as for dh and me...well, break out the champagne that we didn't drink on New Year's Eve!

Also if you can, could you pray for my friend E who is hoping to train as a vicar and has a very important interview next week? He has also recently been diagnosed with Crohns, (like myself) so he's got a lot on his mind!

DutchOmainapeartree · 04/01/2008 12:41

Oh Rosey have a lovely night, I love champagne, but dh doesn't
Praying for your lady with the c-section Marsy.
And for paperchain and her poorly burnt face.
And for NSFN for travelling mercies and good weather.
We didn't even have the few snowflakes and today is damp and dreary.
I'm going into town to change library books.

PandaG · 04/01/2008 13:47

Let ius know how your lady is Mars

Paperchain - how did you burn your face?

please pray for a friend of mine - she had an accident at the gym last night and has cut her lip and taken the skin off her shoulder, and is pretty uncomfortable. Thanks

Notquitegrownup · 04/01/2008 15:00

Aw Susie! What a brilliant idea for a birthday treat, to drive to the snow. I suggest that you post this on "Chat" as a thread of it's own.

Rosie - hope you had a lovely childfree evening.

Well, I'm feeling sorry for myself. Sent dh back to work today, and I lasted until 11.30am until I had to ask him to come home again and take the boys for me. I feel soooo weak, and my temperature goes up if I try to do anything at all. He's now taken them to the library in the rain, as their afternoon treat

Hello Paperchain and everyone. God bless.
