We pray for ourselves:- that we may make time to be "Marys" as well as "Marthas" in all the busy-ness leading up to Christmas.

We pray for our precious husbands in the words of the prayer I quoted earlier:-

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;? and?
we won't go into the rest of the prayer so close to Christmas. (Full text on the old thread)

Pray for NorthernLurker's dh to find a job soon and for Harrisey's dh to find the strength to do a stressful job. Also for Bobsmum's dh to find a new job before February. We pray for peace and quiet over Christmas in all household, especially where dh is not fully committed to the Christian faith, that they may see the loveliness of Jesus around them.
We pray for those without husbands, for NSFN and Mummy2T&F. Also for Creambunnie.

We pray for our children; from the tiny unborns (Podglet, Bobsmum and CaptainCaveman) to include all our children young and not so young. Pray that we will be able to show them the love of Christ. That we may be able to protect them, help them. We pray for Roseylea's dd, Bobsmums ds, Mary's ds, NQGU's ds, that they may be able to cope with life at school and with the holidays.

We pray for those who have suffered bereavement, for QoQ family on the loss of their much loved grandfather. For Mufti's dh who lost his father recently as did Santas(Shreks)missus' dh.
We pray for Pepperpots in her loss

We pray for those with worries over sick friends and relatives, for Spookymadmummy's Mum and for her stepdad, just out of hospital, for CaptainCaveman's friend and little one in hospital, (Lord if possible, bring her out of hospital before Christmas) also for her teenage friend with eating disorders. We also pray for CC's dsis and her dd. Lord, we pray Your healing over that whole family.
We pray with Muppetgirl for her mil and her mother, who is ill and a long way away.
Lulumama and Rubyslippers' grandma.
We also remember OJ and Steve and their 3dcs in our prayers.

We give thanks with Geekymummy for healing in her marriage for PandaG doing well in her new job and enjoying it.
We pray for TheWiltedRose that she may have a very happy Christmas and that she may come to see the One Who is behind it all.
And we pray for CaptainDippy that she may feel surrounded by the love of Christ who is the Provider in all her needs.
We pray for 'absent friends', for Soozy, Creambunnie and MumtoGusandAlbie
Lord, we bring You our prayers and our worship in this Christmas period.

Captain Caveman - how is you friend in the mother and baby unit?

I wanted to share soemthing with you all and it might run on a bit so bear with me!

As you know Dh lost his job in November - this was the second time in two years he has been made redundant. As you can imagine this was a scary time but it quickly became apparent that things were much better for us than they were in Feb 2006 and there were strong leads available and - this is the most important bit - we knew what God had done for us before. So - to go back a bit - in Feb 2006 the company dh worked for went bust, so bust that he and everyone else was left owed salary, holiday pay etc. He hadn't been there long enough to qualify for redundancy - but if he had he wouldn't have got that either! This was hard, we had just the two girls then - but had all ready planned to try for another baby that summer and it was really hard to see all our plans go into cold storage. We thought we might have to move - which I hated the thought of and dh found my reluctance to move hard to understand as he was desperate to get a job - we had my salary but that wasn't anywhere near his and what small savings and help we got from family were dwindling fast! Scary, scary times. Well the first thing that happened was that I tried to give the moving question over to God - very, very hard because if I'm honest I'm rubbish at that - always struggle to plan and fix things and forget what help and love there is there for me! Anyway I thought about it whilst riding into town on my bike, thought so hard I rode into the back of a car! Fortunately no harm done to either of us - and I realised something - even if we had to move it would be ok because that would be where God wanted us to be and so he would provide for us there. I would not be alone, I was not abandoned. So I said to dh moving could be ok - which he was relieved about - then he got another job offer which meant we could stay put. The thing is - he lost his job at the beginning of Lent - and got the new one right before Easter. A season of waiting and limited means and needing with everything in us to trust God finishing with the celebration that is Easter. I don't believe in coincidences.
Well I've realised taht this time - he lost his job as Advent started and got another right before Christmas which he should be starting soon. Another season of waiting and trusting with another celebration at the end - I don't believe in coincidences!

I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and friendship. I'll keep you informed

DingdongMaryBonhigh · 05/01/2008 11:30

NL - that's fantastic news! God is good!

I was having a lovely chat with someone this morning about being where God wants us to be. He used a great turn of phrase "being nudged by the Holy Spirit" - thought it was brilliant

How is everyone this morning? I've been reading and praying for people, just not very good at posting at the moment.

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 11:38

Hi Mary - that is a great phrase! Just takes a while sometimes to realise that you are being nudged
Dh is hopeful that his new job will allow him to do more at church - he is a deacon there - in his last job there was a quite a bit of travel and he only knew what he was doing one week to the next. This new job has less travel and hopefully we'll be able to plan better. His hope is that this will allow him to do more with our fellowship -following where the Lord leads us - tbh I think we've definately been nudged

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 11:42

I am ok - just feeling ab it weird about entering another New Year, iykwim!!?

Thank you soooo much for sharing that, NL - God-incidences, eh!!?

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 11:43

Hurrah for nudging!!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 11:44

and thank you Dippy for administering a loving kick up the backside when I felt sorry for myself on the April thread - towards the end of November I think it was - you probably don't remember but it was much appreciated

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 11:50

I did!!!? Oh. Cool. No problems!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 11:51

NorthernLurker - What brilliant god-incidences, I wish I had your faith, mine is dwindling again atm, the little I had!

DippyDyson - My expectations are always tooooo high when starting a new year, so that I fail my resolutions the day they start!

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Callum, he had a sleep over last night, dh took them to the megabowl and laser quest whilst I pumped up the balloons, baked 2 cakes, wrapped pressies, put up decorations, bathed and put twins to bed, got the beds ready for sleepover.

Then I went on the internet and dh came in at 10.15pm and said "have you just been sat there all night on that damn thing" he has no idea does he!!!!!!!!

I'm still cross and upset today, feel I'm taken for granted, crappy messy house really gets me down, but lack of storage means no room at the inn!!!! I feel like leaving today, I'm so low and sad.

God please help lift my spirits on this what should be a special day!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 14:23

Suzy - don't know what to say really - will pray for better things for you all today and always.

DingdongMaryBonhigh · 05/01/2008 14:31

Hang in there Sooz - its when we feel like this, distant from God, that we need him most of all. Some days we need to concentrate on just putting one foot in front of the other. Some days all we can do is stand still and not fall. The same goes with faith.

DutchOmainapeartree · 05/01/2008 14:39

We're here praying for you Soozy. No, he has no idea, and he is not using his eyes either.
You can't walk out on Callum's birthday:- he shares it with my little grandson who is one today.
