We pray for ourselves:- that we may make time to be "Marys" as well as "Marthas" in all the busy-ness leading up to Christmas.

We pray for our precious husbands in the words of the prayer I quoted earlier:-

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;? and?
we won't go into the rest of the prayer so close to Christmas. (Full text on the old thread)

Pray for NorthernLurker's dh to find a job soon and for Harrisey's dh to find the strength to do a stressful job. Also for Bobsmum's dh to find a new job before February. We pray for peace and quiet over Christmas in all household, especially where dh is not fully committed to the Christian faith, that they may see the loveliness of Jesus around them.
We pray for those without husbands, for NSFN and Mummy2T&F. Also for Creambunnie.

We pray for our children; from the tiny unborns (Podglet, Bobsmum and CaptainCaveman) to include all our children young and not so young. Pray that we will be able to show them the love of Christ. That we may be able to protect them, help them. We pray for Roseylea's dd, Bobsmums ds, Mary's ds, NQGU's ds, that they may be able to cope with life at school and with the holidays.

We pray for those who have suffered bereavement, for QoQ family on the loss of their much loved grandfather. For Mufti's dh who lost his father recently as did Santas(Shreks)missus' dh.
We pray for Pepperpots in her loss

We pray for those with worries over sick friends and relatives, for Spookymadmummy's Mum and for her stepdad, just out of hospital, for CaptainCaveman's friend and little one in hospital, (Lord if possible, bring her out of hospital before Christmas) also for her teenage friend with eating disorders. We also pray for CC's dsis and her dd. Lord, we pray Your healing over that whole family.
We pray with Muppetgirl for her mil and her mother, who is ill and a long way away.
Lulumama and Rubyslippers' grandma.
We also remember OJ and Steve and their 3dcs in our prayers.

We give thanks with Geekymummy for healing in her marriage for PandaG doing well in her new job and enjoying it.
We pray for TheWiltedRose that she may have a very happy Christmas and that she may come to see the One Who is behind it all.
And we pray for CaptainDippy that she may feel surrounded by the love of Christ who is the Provider in all her needs.
We pray for 'absent friends', for Soozy, Creambunnie and MumtoGusandAlbie
Lord, we bring You our prayers and our worship in this Christmas period.

Happy New Year all xxx

CD praying for you honey, New Year can be such a difficult time message or email me if you want a chat...xx

NQGU - your illness sounds awful. Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Is going to be a long day today - we hosted NYE party last night, and DC stayed up watching DVDs with their friends while we ate downstairs. Lots of tired people today!

ZipadiSuzy · 01/01/2008 11:45

Happy new year to you all.

Prayers for a brilliant 2008

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2008 11:57

Thank you Panda. xx

CaptainCaveman · 01/01/2008 15:11

Happy New Year my wonderful beautiful ladies in fellowship.

MW- it is a pleasure to share with others how the Lord has worked in me. If it inspires/helps one person then it is worth writing it down.

We spent NYE up in cleethorpes with friends and I lasted til 11.3o before I HAD to go and sleep. Home safe with a pile of tidying up to do.

Peace and happiness to you all in 2008. Thanks for text Mary! xxx

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2008 20:49

geekymummy · 01/01/2008 23:09

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

NorthernLurker · 02/01/2008 08:57

Happy New Year to all! Sorry I haven't been around on this thread much lately - but you are all in my prayers even when I'm not here - will make more of an effort in 2008 to keep them up to date though!

DutchOmainapeartree · 02/01/2008 09:54

Your dad is telling you to move back home?
On your own leaving four kids behind? Or with four kids in tow. He must have a big house.
It does show tremendous confidence in your ability to cope.
What does your mum think?

Roseylea · 02/01/2008 10:32

Hello all!

CD I take my Santa hat off to you (actually it's about time I took it off anyway!) having an impromptu sleepover involving 3 yos!

NSFN I'm sure your dad just wants to support you, and thinks that by your being closer to home he could support you more. I know a lot of grandparents feel like that, esp. if you are a lone parent. But of course you are a grown up and a very capable woman and you need to be where is right for you and your dc.

Prayers please! I am dc-free today (yippeeeeeeeeeee!) as they are with their Super-childminder (she really is fab! Thank you Lord!) so I am going to spend most of today finishing the writing that my vicar has asked me to do re. my sense of calling, how it started, how it's going, scriptures that have encouraged / challenged me, situations I've been in when I've seen God working in / through me etc etc. (all broken down into lots of different sections). So it's a very reflective piece, and it's really helpful to me personally to be doing it now.

So please could you pray that I'd know God's presence and prompting as I write, and that through doing this I would know and be confident in the calling he has for me. Last time I did this (had a writing day) I felt that God spoke very powerfully to me and I'd love for that to happen again today!

Notquitegrownup · 02/01/2008 13:58

Helloooo. Flying by. Getting better - I think!

Happy 2008 to you all. Mary, thank you for your text. It was a lovely surprise. (I still get ridiculously excited when my phone rings!)

Prayers for a wonderful day for you Rosie, and for all on this thread.

notsofarnow · 02/01/2008 14:36

Do no not to his house def not big enough for us all but to move closer to home. He gets frustrated when I say this and that needs doing and he too far away to do anything. But when we are here he does nothing but moan that his peace and quiet has been ruined etc.

ZipadiSuzy · 02/01/2008 15:36

Just got back from Dentist (me, filling) ds1 opticians (needs glasses, has astigmatism) quite unsettled about it though!

4 hours sleep last night, twins playing up, back to the screaming when left to get to sleep themselves, they have been so poorly that dh been sitting with them till they drop off and they seem to have got used to it!

Got leaflet distributing to do tonight, its frezzing cold out there!

The house is a tip, we need a fairy god-mother, more like Kim & Agie!!

DS1 birthday on Sat 5 Jan, he want to go to the snow dome on friday, can't afford it, come to think of it, can't even afford glasses he needs £145 might go somewhere else!!!!

Sorry rambling again!

I have broken my new years resolution already.

  1. Be more organised
  2. Stop moaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!GGGGRRRRRRRRRR

Oh well, might go on line and look for some cheaper glasses!

whenachildisbob · 02/01/2008 15:48

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm 24 weeks now and can't believe that baby is coming in under 16 weeks!!

Dh is job hunting in earnest now - contract finishes at the end of Feb.

Could you pray for us - we've had a very unusual offer for dh to ghost/co-write a (Christian) book for a friend. This could either be the God given solution we're looking for - dh would be at home and solvent -ish and we could do more hospitality/retreat stuff - or it could be a huge mistake which would potentially jeopardise friendships or more - it's a bit of a harrowing tale tbh.

No idea really - we need time together to pray it all through, but any words of wisdom would be great. I really can't go into any more details for legal/confidential reasons, but God knows the details

Also car hunting for a people carrier. Dh ahs been praying for specifics: needs to be 6 or 7 seater (ideally a Multipla)diesel/well under £3K/reasonably local to us and not likely to fall apart. And we need to get it soon!

Heating working swimmingly - what a blessing to have a warm house!!

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 19:49

Glad to see you took my suggestion of a Multipla on board Praying through this job offer for you guys and praying for job hunting in general - Praying that God really makes it clear what you should do and when you should do (A lightening bolt from the blue would good ) Can't believe you are 24 weeks - wow!!!!

to your dad, NSFN - Do you think moving closer to home would help or do you think it would be more hassle than it is worth!!?

Praying for twins and sleep, Sooooooz - how were they this evening?? xx

How was your day, Rosey!!? Hope it was wonderful and full of Godspiration!

Brain empty; but could people pleeeeeease email me (captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk) - I've got something to ask you all!!!? xx

whenachildisbob · 02/01/2008 19:52

Yup - Multipla looks perfect

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 19:55

They are!! I love our Ugly Bug Car!!

whenachildisbob · 02/01/2008 19:58

The newer ones don't have the interesting shape at the front, but I quite like it and we'll have to get an ancient one anyway

We've spotted a 2001 one at a relatively nearby garage, which would be good - just at top end of budget though. Will be trading in my lovely curvaceous Ka though....sob...sob - hope it's not listening.....

NorthernLurker · 02/01/2008 19:59

Hi

Will pray for suitable 'wheels' Bobsmum

RubySlippers · 02/01/2008 20:00

xx

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 20:38

I feel when I see people driving the new style Ugly Bugs - They simply do not know what they are missing out on!!

Hi RS! xx

CaptainCaveman · 02/01/2008 20:50

Evening girls!

Sooz its so good to have you back! There is an internet company who do glasses for a fraction of the cost of the high street opticians, I saw an article in readers digest, in fact I'll go and find it......

Dippy have emailed you - hurry up and email back, I'm extra curious!!!

Took ds to see the Bee movie today - he was as good as gold and we shared a bag of popcorn, yummmmmmm. Only now he keeps saying "Ew, poo water" as that was a line in the film......

Feeling sick still, which is a good thing!

CaptainCaveman · 02/01/2008 20:55

here As I said Sooz, I saw this guy in Reader's Digest. See what you think - certainly cheaper than £145!!
