I am loving all the talk of Mabon food stuffed squash sounds delicious to me, I often make stuffed vegetables, peppers, courgettes, and one of my favourite vegan dishes, Iymam Bayildi, stuffed aubergine, I think it is an Ottoman dish, with pine nuts, olive oil, garlic cinnamon.
Hekatestorch sorry to her the housework is painful! I tend to step back for all the heavy stuff and come in with the finishing touches to love things up at the end!!
HillsBesideTheSea I was fascinated by white horses of the sea too as a child- the white breakers are their manes, I swear I could actually see the horses in the surf when I was very young I know many cultures have tales of horses from the sea, representing wisdom.
Another sea creature in Celtic mythology is the Selkie- seals that could transform into human form, but return to explore the depths of he ocean. Selkies are always kind and helpful, gentle and wise, in many Northern parts of he UK- Orkney and Shetland seals are still called selkies.
hilariousnamehere I love the fact that you sense a positive energy of the Kelpie.

Thank you @Trenzalor, that sounds perfect for making in bulk too.

@Hekatestorch I am sorry to hear that your house plans have hit a glitch. I would Give yourself house a bit of love, tell it you like it, clean and reveal a bit of it. Whilst doing this envisage how it will be when all the work is done to it. I found writing down my intensities and drawing (badly) some pictures helped too.

I have been thinking about my new home. I have always been told it's bad luck to sleep with your feet facing the window. But I quite like the idea of waking up to face the window. Do any of you wise ladies have an opinion?

speakout · 27/08/2021 13:56

TotoAnnihiliation

I safely ignore warnings about bad luck. Often ideas that were used to control, or things that have some sound practical basis.
Like walking under a ladder- makes perfect sense- a high chance of having a hammer or a pot of pain dropped on your head!
I have not heard about sleeping with feet facing a window- perhaps it comes from an idea of facing the door in case of intruders?
I would have zero concerns lying any way that felt right in my bedroom.

Apologies to everyone not interested in vegan recipes but I don’t seem able to send photos on PMs (never tried before).

Trenzalor thank you for the recipes. I get in a rut, cooking the same things all the time so it's great to have some new ideas. Would you mind sharing your lasagne recipe too if you get a minute? Speakout stuffed aubergine sounds delicious too, I love aubergine!

Toto I've never heard that it's bad luck to sleep facing a window. My bedroom wouldn't work that way round, but I once stayed in a hotel where the bed overlooked the sea which was just lovely. I'm aware that in Feng Sui, it's recommended to sleep with your head pointed south to attract opposite poles. You're not advised to sleep north. Also, I know some people say you shouldn't sleep facing a mirror as it'll deplete your energy and give you nightmares, but it's never affected me! I don't tend to pay much attention to this stuff, I just do what feels right for me.

speakout · 27/08/2021 15:35

VioletCharlotte I get stuck in a rut too- especially when having to meet the needs of others!
I would happily eat a vegan diet, buy my OH is a hardened meat eater, to be fair he is more than happy to cater for himself though.
My DS veers towards vegetarian and doesn't like dairy, so would be happy with what I eat.
My elderly mother ( who lives with us)loves chicken nuggets and burgers, hates salad and a vegetable to her is ketchup. She also finds it hard to keep up her weight, so I try to cook things to tempt her.
Meals are often a juggling act!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 27/08/2021 18:05

I know that feeling well Speakout! DS2 is a big meat eater. He's into body building so likes lots of protein, steak, chicken, etc. DS1 has moved out now, but he likes pasta, breaded chicken, wraps. I used to end up cooking three different meals! Thankfully, DS2 now cooks for himself most of the time so I mainly eat a vegan diet except for the odd pastry or chocolate bar!!

TotoAnnihiliation · 27/08/2021 18:24

@Trenzalor please can you send me some recipes? I'll send you some in return from a lovely book, I have

Aerwyna · 27/08/2021 21:04

Violet I’m with you sister, sending energy. It is utterly heartbreaking and such a complex and heinous situation, my heart goes out to all those effected

speakout I love that picture of the Kelpies and your thoughts on their energy. I agree they feel powerful and free, I would love to see them. Wise words on the roots of some of our legends. Like much of his~story it feels timely for reclaiming.

Hilarious I agree freedom and autonomy are key energy features in both horses and water. Sorry to hear you’re still exhausted but glad you’ve turned a corner. Take good care of you

Hekatestorch your abundance basil sounds very magical! I agree that there’ll be other ways to weave your magic into the house. I hope the frustrations soon subside. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother and not surprised you feel sick when you hear about Afghanistan, the need to detach is so pertinent for you. I’m so sorry for your loss

Toto another one here who ignores warnings of ‘bad luck’ unless there’s a practical reason for it. What feels right to you will be what’s right for you. Sleep well!

Loving all this food talk and ideas- thank you for sharing them.

I’ve had a great day, feeling happy and looking forward to the future. Also feeling very grateful for sisterhood and the wonderful support I’ve had here 🙏 When women support each other there’s no stopping us!

Love to all

speakout · 28/08/2021 08:45

Such a beautiful golden morning here. I am feeling quite inspired. Off soon to have breakfast at a local cafe with OH, which also happens to be next to my favourite charity shop- who needs nightclubs.
I am also trying to dig up an area of gravel on my driveway, it is really hard going! The gravel is 3 inches thick, and a layer of weed control fabric underneath, I am tearing it all up. I have set a target of two rubble bags a day- already done 14. Much of my back garden is covered in gravel too, making planting difficult- why do people put down this stuff? I have managed to dig up areas of lawn and planted trees and shrubs, but I would love a vegetable bed.
I have successfully manage to do "spot planting" in the gravel, it is is a deep layer, but I make a hole, tear through the fabric and plant. I have a large number of huge and healthy plants that are thriving having been planted this way, including Bhuddlia, a massive climbing rose that that is 12 foot high and covered in blooms.
Gia won't be defeated so easily!!
Aerwyna thank you for sprinkling your bright magical energy way!! Great to hear you are feeling so opimistic.
I am so grateful for this sisterhood too. X

Aerwyna I can feel your happiness radiating though your words. Thank you for bringing your beautiful energy.

Speakout that sounds like hard work! But how rewarding it must be to see the changes you're making and you can look forward to reaping the benefits of your vegetable patch. Enjoy your well deserved breakfast.

I've just been to Body Pump, I'm wearing my new, bright red leggings and feel like a true warrior witch! Time to reward myself with a coffee now, then I'll go to the outdoor market to buy some fruit and veg. I'm hoping to find a balance this weekend between getting on with projects I need to finish and enjoying some downtime. I'm hoping to finish clearing out DS2s old bedroom to turn it into an office and I also want to finish painting my fence.

Blessings to you all 💫

speakout · 28/08/2021 14:07

VioletCharlotte well done for making it to pump- I love the sound of your warrior trousers!!

Thought I'd pos a few pics of my garden- when I moved in here there was only gravel and lawn, not a single plant or tree. This is what I have managed to grow spot planting through a thick gravel bed,, and one of my three garden guardians- the Sycamore Sisters just beyond my fence.

Thank you sisters,
There’s something so special about being able to share joy as well as more challenging times.

speakout your golden start to the day sounds magical and thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us. Your sycamore sisters are powerful guardians and the plants you have grown look wonderful. It does sound like so much work you’ve been doing and I love that both you and Gaia are so tenacious- the epitome of divine female energy!

Violet I love the sound of your warrior leggings too! Your weekend plans sound productive and I hope there’s some of the balance you seek amongst it all. I know it feels good to get on top of tasks that need doing, clears mental space too I think.

A quite day here which has been good, change can be mentally tiring even when it’s good I think

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a good start

Aerwyna · 28/08/2021 19:56

Meant to attach this, it made me think of the powerful energy of support amongst us

Hekatestorchyour abundance basil sounds very magical! I agree that there’ll be other ways to weave your magic into the house. I hope the frustrations soon subside. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother and not surprised you feel sick when you hear about Afghanistan, the need to detach is so pertinent for you. I’m so sorry for your loss

Thank you @Aerwyna, thats very welcomed. The basil seems to work for my finances as long as I share. I was waiting for some shares to pay out. They paid out the day after I gave one to my mum and one to my best friend. My runes were telling me I had good fortune coming but I had to share it. I shared my basil plants and there was my money. I financially struggled during winter, when then weren't growing and I couldn't take cuttings. Then spring, as they came back to life, my finances sorted themselves. The big one, that all my small ones come from is treated like a Queen Grin

@speakout i am planning on doing the same at the front of the house. The gravel drives me insane, when it could be a lovely green area. Its a nightmare, well done you for actually doing it. I am sure it's all worth the effort. The photos of your garden are beautiful.

@VioletCharlotte well done for getting to an exercise class. I really need to do more in that area. I keep being told, during prayer (don't feel prayer is the right word, but can't think of a better one) I need to do more. I will try to be inspired by you. We have a new puppy (a rescue that needs lots of care and can't go out yet) and I have actually ended up doing less 🤦‍♀️

Hekatestorch · 28/08/2021 20:09

@Aerwyna that quote is beautiful.

speakout · 28/08/2021 20:38

Hekatestorch
I am glad abundance is becoming part of your life. So good to hear. I understand your frustration about the gravel- but in some ways it can make it easier for individual plants to thrive- no weed competition and plenty space and light. Not ideal, but Gaia will break through!
Aerwyna that quote made me well up in tears! Thankyou!

Spent the evening catching up with the thread and it was such a pleasure.

Just got back from a trip with a kid and spent so much time near the Thames.

You can feel the wheel turn. Hear the sound of the leaves change as they lose moisture. See the low light that casts long shadows and deep pockets of golden light. Smell the earthy smell.

Such a wonderful time of the year.

Beautiful picture LumpySpacedPrincess.
I love autumn too, trees here are starting to take a golden tinge, and forests around me are full of mushrooms.
The smell changes too, doesn't it, fresh floral and green notes of summer give way to earthy notes as leaves start to decompose, the air becomes rich with a sweet heavy fragrance. I love it!
I always feel at home during autumn, permission to display my witchiness, to come out of the broom closet and show my true colours!

Catching up on the thread over my morning coffee, lively to read stories of abundance and burgeoning autumn. I caught the sunrise this morning, ripening sun fleetingly bathing my garden in a halo of gold. The clouds have gathered again now. It's a morning for hot coffee and watching the world through the window,

There's an artisan festival later today, I'll be taking my DC to see what the stalls and food vendors have to offer. Hopefully it stays dry for the street musicians!

I took this photo early this morning, with the sun dappling the sycamore. I can't wait to see the leaves turn to gold.

I can feel that incoming autumn freshness in the air this morning, it is glorious. Forecast another sunny day it’s so good to be out in garden early while last night’s barbecuing/gathering holding neighbours are quiet indoors!

I love the sound of your queen basil Hekatestorch, reminds me also of speakout’s matron plants. I do like growing magic with plants and am inspired by your flow of abundance.

@Trenzalor

Met this old man yesterday. Looks like he had a mouth full.
So he does! I love the life you see when you look at the trees.

The Fungi documentary on Netflix has been fascinating to me.
Knowing in myself that trees are families and the life of much of the wild, to see it being explained that they really are and how linked they are is amazing.
Also I love fungi too

32inchtv · 29/08/2021 08:30

@Aerwyna the autumn freshness right now is invigorating to me
I feel reignited when it comes to me again

I am looking forward to getting out in the fresh air today
