Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

@NoWigNoWit I'd consider that dream to be quite positive!
It may mean that you've ridden the waves and now there's light at the end of the tunnel and calmer times to come. Or it could mean a continuation of the rough period for a small amount of time but it will be worth it in the end.
The fact it was a hotel you were staying in and not your own home sounds like you've tried to escape the trouble but unfortunately it's followed you because you need to face it and deal with it.
Remember. It's just a season in your life, seasons change and they never last forever.

firesong · 04/10/2021 00:30

I haven't posted on one of these in a long time, though I love to read through and feel cosy.

It's odd, the synchronicity that has been mentioned. I keep noticing it too. I had an operation recently and wouldn't allow anyone to collect me from the hospital, and only told my (very caring and lovely) partner about it when it was just about to happen. I see that some of you are the same way.

Whoever posted the autumn poem (sorry - a bit late for me to start scrolling back looking for names) - I read it aloud and found it really beautiful.

So lovely hearing from everybody - their ideas, stories, and advice.

Happy Monday to you all 🌙🍂

optimistic40 · 04/10/2021 00:36

nowignowit I'm interested in the hotel aspect of your dream. Unless you have recently stayed in one, I wonder whether it could represent your temporary state of mind perhaps... have you tried being a different type of person or entered a different phase in your life? Just wondering whether this is indicating that you are now starting to accept this new you.

I have always been into dream meanings and love to write brief descriptions when I remember, to think about later.

NoWigNoWit · 04/10/2021 07:03

Thank you for your insights @MissCrowley and @optimistic40

Recently I’ve been trying to not wear my heart on my sleeve, and to take the high road ignoring nasty comments and those who don’t deserve my love and friendship. It’s been difficult I have to say.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 04/10/2021 09:32

@NoWigNoWit, water represents our emotions in our dreams, and dreaming of an ocean almost overwhelming you is indicative of how you are feeling right now, but I most definitely agree with @MissCrowley and @optimistic40 - calmer times are on the way!

The weather is all over the place right now - beautiful, golden sunshine one moment, torrential rain the next - it makes drying the laundry a tad tricky! One thing I have always loved though, is the winds. When I am feeling 'grey', the wind inevitably arrives to blow the cobwebs away, and there is nothing nicer than curling up in my warm bed, falling asleep to the wind whipping the trees.

Blessings to all xxx

Dropping in to say good evening. Sorry for not posting much recently, lots of strange energy around at the moment and I'm feeling rather drained. Reading all the posts and feeling your warm energy is soothing for the soul. Sending love to you all and healing for all those who need it.

Aerwyna · 05/10/2021 20:33

A quick stop by from me too, I’m sorry I haven’t posted much either. Sending love and soothing river energy- The woods are sparking with magic right now. Looking forward to a proper catch up soon
Wishing my sisters peace this evening

New moon blessings dear sisters. The new moon in Libra will bring fresh energy to balance and order, stabilising relationships, harmony in the family.
A welcome new energy to the challenges some of us have been feeling since Mabon.
Pluto also becomes direct today, after 6 months in retrograde, part of the long game, but this too will bring changes, relief and new patterns.
Yesterday was wild wet and windy all day, things have calmed and the faint light of dawn on the horizon is manifesting in an azure sky as I surface this morning.
I hope everyone has a calm day.

VioletCharlotte · 06/10/2021 09:54

Speakout thank you, the energy update is very reassuring . It's calmer today here too and the sun's shining which always makes things feel better. I hope your DD is going ok.

Aerwyna thank you for the river energy. I agree about the magic in the woods, I love the golden light this time of year.

HillsBesideTheSea · 07/10/2021 09:02

Speakout how is your daughter doing? I hope she is recovering well from this latest bout of covid.

Been feeling very flat. Insomnia has been kicking my butt, ds had to be tested twice for covid (first test was unreadable apparently) we are both down with some sort of virus.

In an attempt to start the day in a better frame of mind i put spiced orange infused sugar in my coffee. I had forgotten how nice it tastes, and also that that infused sugar contains one of my allergy triggers. Best laid plans and all.

I hope that you can all have gentle days with the ability to feel like you have made good progress in what ever needs to be achieved.

VioletCharlotte · 07/10/2021 13:00

Hills spice orange infused sugar sounds delicious, what a shame it triggered an allergy. I've got some food allergies too so I sympathise. Sorry you're feeling flat and hope you and DS feel better soon.

I'm going away for a few days tomorrow with some friends, a group of women I've known for many years. It can't come quick enough, the last few months have been tough and I'm more than ready for a break.

speakout · 07/10/2021 19:42

Thanks for all the positive energy. My DD is OK, after feelin unwell at the weekend and two strong positive lateral flow tests, PCR on Monday and Tuesday were both negative. She is feeling tired but better- and no need to isolate. So much RSV in the childrens hospital at the moment, so that is a possiblility.
Still turmoil and upset in other parts of the family- but I have bee n working hard to keep myself afloat.
I hope everyone is having a gentle evening.

Hello loves! I'd dropped off the thread somehow, and have been having a very... strange... couple of weeks, with an unexpected bombshell from extended family which is going to throw mine and my mum's lives into upheaval for some months, but will end in the spring with three generations of wonderful, strong, resilient women living close together for support and care.

Thank you for energy updates speakout, that is rather soothing after the weird few weeks we've all seemed to have had!

DFluffyCat got the all clear from the vet last week, DNinjaCat has her checkup next week, and I have my last couple of shoots of the year tomorrow and Sunday. After which I'm hoping to retreat into my own little creative cave for a while and restore myself to full vibrance and vivacity - I've been running on empty for so long.

A question, if any of you have any thoughts - I'm looking at cycles and working with your own and the lunar cycle, but due to contraceptive injection haven't had a period for nearly 20 years, so can't track what would have been my menstrual cycle. My first instinct is to then start to track how I feel during each moon phase, to see if I can spot patterns - but do any of you have any other thoughts, advice or experiences around this?

Sending you all love and magic for the end of the week.

HillsBesideTheSea · 08/10/2021 01:53

Even though i do have a monthly cycle i want to track how i feel each lunar cycle. I do feel there will be patterns. I have tracked how i feel each seasonal cycle, and day cycle. there are some interesting patterns. So if you have the time and dedication there could be information to be gained and learnt. but it is not a short project. It is going to take a couple of months minimum to even start to see patterns. And for me that was the hardest part. the remember to check in. It really helps if you can build it into a routine/habit.

VioletCharlotte · 08/10/2021 07:12

The link between menstrual and moon cycles is fascinating. My cycle aligns with the moon cycles when i am feeling balanced emotionally, physically and spiritually. When I feel disconnected and out of kilter, like I am at the moment, my cycle changes. Personally, I'm at my most connected, my period will arrive on a new moon, as this is a time we should be resting and recharging, and I'll ovulate during the full moon. Noticing what moon phase we're in when your period starts can be really useful in helping you understand why you're feeling like you are. We're at our most intuitive when we're menstruating so it's a great time for meditation.

Speakout so relieved to hear DD is feeling better and that she doesn't have COVID. Sorry to hear that you're still experiencing some challenges, I will send out healing energy for you with this mornings candle connection.

Hilariousnamehere good to see you. Yes, it's all been a little crazy the last week or so. I do hope things settle down for you. I've certainly felt a shift the last day or so, so I hope you are able to find the peace and quiet time that you need.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 08/10/2021 10:51

Good morning, all. Hasn't the energy lately been strange?! I've been keeping well out of the way, but have still encountered the odd snafu. Mercury Retro has a lot to answer for! Though I am glad Pluto finally turned direct - these energies can be heavy and burdensome.

Unseasonably warm here - laundry out, windows wide! I much prefer Autumn through the golden haze of the sun, rather than a blustery, rainy lens, and it's a blessing to watch the beautiful sunrises.
I am still working solely with candles in my practice, anything more formal or involved jars with me lately, though the sudden elemental changes in the weather stirs something deep within.

A quick question - has anyone here ever ordered from the Sorcerer's Apprentice? (Used to be mail order only) I am convinced they used to sell candles and other paraphernalia, but when I look at their website now, there's no sign.

Love to all experiencing disruption and uncertainty - I will be lighting candles for all xxx

StarsAboveMe · 08/10/2021 13:31

There are some great accounts on Instagram for people wanting to work more closely with lunar cycles : Kirsty Gallagher and MoonMna are ones I’ve found very useful.

suzyscat · 08/10/2021 17:03

Happy nearly weekend sisters,

The libra moon did me the world of good. The change was palpable, and so on point.
So sorry for all your tumultuous times but how comforting to we are all riding the waves united.

Wishing all poorly ones a speedy recovery and a restful (or bracing should you prefer) weekend Thanks

hilariousnamehere · 08/10/2021 20:59

Oh, thank you all, I shall go exploring!

Hills, yes the consistency is something I've never been able to manage but am hoping as my interest has been caught that I might... Time will tell Grin

Stars looking forward to adding those to my Instagram wanderings, thank you.

BirdLady sadly not :( I have a beautiful pack of candles from the Woodbridge Apothecary but on investigation it looks like it no longer exists, so I am exactly zero use 😅

TotoAnnihiliation · 08/10/2021 23:03

I'm interested in learning how my own cycles could connect with the moon cycles. My own cycles are short around 24 days. Hmm, another Avenue for me to expire.

I had a hideous day today, I'm trying my best to leave it behind and focus on the family this week. We also all potentially have covid. Not a good day here!

I'm going to end today with a shower, wash the negativity away and start afresh.

speakout · 09/10/2021 07:48

Welcome to the weekend dear sisters we made it at least. I know it is a bumpy ride for many of us at the moment, my life continues with challenges too.
It is hard to stay focussed and centred, stressful situations can make my thinking woolly too. I have kitted myself up over the years to know what things to do when times are stressful to keep anxiety at bay- but for a few days this week my mind was completely blank, I just couldn't remember all the tools I usually use to feel better during difficult times.
Sometimes we have little power to change a situation but we can make sure we are topping up our own cup- it makes even very hard situations easier to bear.
On their own little things may seem ineffectual and pointless- what good is a cup of tea when it is raining bombs outside. But for me stacking all the self help stuff together weaves powerful magic and rises up into something very significant.
My morning ritual, my yoga, some favourite youtube meditations, a foot massage, a walk in the forest, a trip to my favourite charity shop- drinking magical tea, divination or Tarot, planting or gardening, a plate of nutritious food, music, incense, candles, some goddess work, a ritual or spellwork, focussing on an image, some facial skin care are some things I do, and I have many other ways to top up my cup.
But when I am struggling I actually can forget all the things that can help, I suffer mind fog when I am stressed.
So I thought I would start a magical toolkit- a type of journal- to remind myself of all the things that can help me deal with tough times. I can section it and weave in artwork, affirmations and reminders of ways to keep my cup full. Will be a handy dandy reference for difficult days.
I am not a journaller- I have a grimoire, I have tried journaling, but tends to end up a scratchy jaggy book of negative thoughts and energy, not pleasant to write in, to read back on or even to hold!
So my book will be full of light, brightness, wisdom and practical advice to myself on how to get out of a muddy place! I am on the hunt for a blank book- any suggestions most welcome!
It is a bright morning here, I am off to a body pump class, then need to pick up some craft supplies.
Sending healing and support to all who are in need.

@speakout, do you have a 'The Works' nearby? I remember picking up a couple of unlined notebooks from there.
I'm glad to read about your self-help arsenal - I too find it invaluable to have a 'stock' of things on hand that really do help. I agree in times of stress it's all too easy to forget the things that soothe us and bring relief. I started drinking chamomile tea some years ago to ease anxiety and it is now my preferred drink, even when I don't need it, I really enjoy it. Essential oils also play an important part in my self-help rituals and are such a wonderful resource.

Blessings, sisters, I hope everyone's weekends are calm and uplifting!

HillsBesideTheSea · 09/10/2021 14:27

I bullet journal. And one spread i put in there recently was a "when i am finding life hard..."
It has a have i done check list
It has a ideas for solutions for the have I done list for when i don't want to but probably need to.

I get my bullet journals from amazon. But i will second the recommendation as to try the works, I have also found some nice textured paper notebooks at B&M but you have to watch the pretty looking ones as I have had the glue binding dissolve in a couple, the held together ones are my go to for taking study notes. I will happily admit it, i am a paper snob, it has to feel right. Ditto with pens Blush

I dragged my butt out of bed this morning for an early walk. Not as early as planned but it was a good way to start the day. Would rather like a nap but really should be getting on with things.

I hope you manage to get your kit sorted without too much trouble Speakout stress is the worst.

HillsBesideTheSea · 09/10/2021 14:28

*held together with staples ones are my favourite.

Sorry brain and hands are on different operational speeds this morning.

hilariousnamehere · 09/10/2021 14:46

I love the blank hardback sketchbooks from Hobbycraft, lovely to write on and strong enough to have things stuck in without bleedthrough :)

I too have a "spells for feeling well" reference, in my case a picture collage laminated and in the front of my two most used filofaxes :) it is such a luxury to have it to hand when I'm feeling off!

I've been feather hunting as I was feeling woozy and needed fresh air and I finally found a magpie feather with a beautiful blue sheen, so am feeling much brighter :)
