Hi everybody - please pray for the DS of friends of ours who is going into residential physchiatric care tomorrow to be treated for depression and an eating disorder. Please pray that the right decisions are made and that his family feel supported. It's so sad... he's early teens.

p.s. I don't know how to spell physchiatric - it doesn't look right that way....?

Praying your friend's DS, Worz - early teens, that is just awful - praying for God's love to wrap him up and protect him. Praying for healing. Praying for his family and they find the best way to support him through this. xx

i shared a few months back that dh said he wanted to go to his parents this christmas, and then alternate , to keep it fair.
at the time i said my mum would be on her own if i don't have her, and of course, i always have, and i want to see her anyway. although i did agree that alternating if the fair way.
well, as you know, fil died 4 weeks ago. mil initial reaction was to not want christmas at all, last week she said she doesn't mind if we don't go, as she may be upset.
she will see sil, and family , but as they are up there , they can come and go, whereas we will be staying there.
ds takes ages to settle in strange places anyway, dh said he would decide , "in a week", which is this week.
also, mil is catholic , my mum sent a little booklet with praryers and scriptures , hoping it would be of some comfort to her, i passed it on . well, sadly it had the opposite affect upset her ,and dh, to put it mildly..
i sent a note apologising and asked her to forgive me for upsetting her, but she hasnt mentioned the note to dh.
so now i will feel awkward.
eek, ramble over, need to GOD to move really so that whatever we do is best for all of us.

Oh Mufti - that is hard. Family arrangements are always tough aren't they - even without a recent bereavement. Will pray you can all find your way through.

Basically saying that I was praying for the poor lad who is going into residential unit. Eating disorders are so all encompassing but you can get well from them - just look at me!!!. Is he going in voluntarily?
Please God hold this boy and his family close to you, show him how to learn to love himself by loving you, and guide him to the light out of the darkness he inevitably feels surrounded by at this time. AMen.

I didn't know you had suffered from ED, CC .... perhaps I've just not been paying attention. Praise god for your recovery - and praying for full recovery for this young lad too. xx

I'm here-ish and very very very very warm

Could you just pray for ds (again) - we had a meeting with the Ed psych last week.

DS' behaviour at school seems a lot worse than I'd understood it to be. His class teacher seems to be at the end of her tether with him and we've had 2 letters home yesterday and today about his cheekiness and inability to sit still. He mutters to himself and fidgets all through class and is disrupting the classroom for the other children. The entire council SN budget is being spent on his support worker and she's now with him in the playground as well as in the classroom.

He's s different boy at home - still mutters/repeats/fidgets, but is entirely "controllable".

Ed Psych is unwilling to go for a diagnosis at his age, but she mentioned the Autism word again. However he is steadily improving at everything, so that's also confusing things - if he was on the spectrum then there would be things we would just have to live with and cope with, rather than seeing him suddenly manage fine.

Argh.

Am , but did I mention I was warm ?

A friend of mine from college trained there and though she didnt know the victims, she did know the gunman . If you could keep them in your prayers, we'd appreciate it.

On a lighter note, I got my results back today, they are all really good and I even did better than dh in the most difficult one!!! The Masters is still on track, the results are all good enough.

Hi - 'tis QoQ (with her Christmas name).

My grandad passed away this morning .

He went peacefully, and happily though - with carers from the home sat with him right until the end.

It's odd, I woke up this morning CONVINCED that my parents had called me and told me that he'd passed away yestedray - I had such a vivid dream that yesterday at 3.05pm they rang and told me that they would be late to visit today (pre-planned) as he'd gone to be with the Lord, and his dear wife. When I woke up I nearly called them as I was shocked that I'd forgotten about such an important phonecall until this morning.

Then at 11.30 - when I got back from picking DS2 up from nursery, they had arrived (later than planned) and told me he'd died this morning

Icequeen, thank the Lord He has taken your dear Grandad to be with Himself, so glad his pasing was peaceful and that you all managed to see him at some time before his death.

Please can you say a prayer for my mil and her mother who has been given weeks maybe months to live due to a tummor on her pancreas (sp?) that has spread to her liver.

Mil distraught as you would imagine but extra ditress as her mum is in austria (mil is Austrian) and although she went over last week she won't be over again until 1st week of jan.

Can you pray that her mum makes it till then so mil can say goodbye and pray for mil to find the words and strength to say goodbye.

QoQ - sorry to hear about your grandad. WHen my Gran died in March, I woke up at 3am, I had been having a really vivid dream about her. My Dad phoned at 8, to say she had died at 3am. I think there is more to things than we really understand. Found out later my Brother had had the same dream that evening.

So many people seem t be very ill right now - prayers to all.
