Podglet, how did your appt go???

DS seems fine praise God, a little restless (well he can't sleep in his fave position of face down, tonight ).

Just come back from a St Cecilia's day service, which was joyfully uplifting. We had that gorgeous hymn "You and I be the singers". There's something special about being in a congo of musicians (St Cecilia being the patron saint of musicians)

CaptainDippy · 22/11/2007 23:15

Yes, I've just been thinking about you too, Podglet - how was it sweetie!!?

Off to bed now, tiiiiiiiiiiiired .........

Thoughts to all those with poorly babies and babies with bumps on their heads

Consultants appt went v well thank you. He is happy to let me try a VBAC as long as the baby comes on his / her own time. If I go way overdue then he won't induce as I had a failed inducement with DS, he will just section. So just what I wanted! No scan I'm afraid this time.

Feeling fed up for no reason at all really. Just fed up of being on my own and no one to share life with.

PandaG · 24/11/2007 17:56

What is the application form for CD?

Hello DO, good to have you back

We have 10 new additions to the family today - a shoal of neons in our new (to us from Freecycle) fishtank. Hope this will defer the demands for something small and furry for a while...

Roseylea · 24/11/2007 19:46

Sorry you're fed up, NSFN.

NQGU do you know how your mother's surgery went?

Hi DO! Good to have you back!

I've had "one of those days" - everything much harder than it should have been! Dinner ended up in the bin, I smashed a plate, a simple job (printing stuff for tomorrow's sunday school) that should have taken less than a minute took well over an hour...gahhh! However I have made a wonderful wonderful christmas cake which looks and smells divine so that's good! So I just thought I'd pop by and say hello really...

DutchOma · 24/11/2007 20:01

Thank you all for your 'welcome back' wishes, it is good to be back.
How is the relationship with (d)h now NSFN? Any updates? Sorry to hear ds was sick in the night.
Rosey, sorry about the dinner and the plate. How is the Crohn's?
Hoping for an update on your mum NQGU.
CD hope the application form brings the desired result. I like the job description on your profile

CaptainCaveman · 24/11/2007 20:58

Praying for your grandma ctc, may the Lord hold her and take her pain away.

Played hockey today - match eventually abandoned due to a FIGHT!!! between our goalie and one of the opposition!! It's meant to be a ladies game. Praying that the opposition (who started throwing punches) are shown the error of their ways. Our goalie is 16, the woman who laid into her is about 30 ish

NorthernLurker · 24/11/2007 21:48

camillathechicken - praying.

CC - at the fight - that is one mean game!

Notquitegrownup · 25/11/2007 08:14

Good morning all.

Many thanks for your prayers for Mum. She didn't go into the theatre until 4.30 yesterday afternoon, so was still v. groggy when Dad phoned at 7.30. She will be fairly busy this week, learning how to walk again and how to use crutches, in hospital, so we will probably wait until she gets home next weekend, to go to visit. They are a 2 hour drive away, which is OK for a day visit, but makes popping over for an hour tricky.

at your hockey match CC! Mind you, I had a friend who was a caretaker at an old people's home, and he regularly split up fights!

God bless all.

mufti · 25/11/2007 09:41

hi all
well, dh told me he has been aware since his teens , and thinking of his parents dying, isnt that sad, he hasnt got the hope we have.
i never think about that, maybe thats worse, less realistic, but, i just think , especially mum, who i am very close to, will always be there
the funeral went well, some cousins of mil came that she hasnt seen for years, so she is hoping to continue contact there
she is up and down a lot , talking non stop at times to keep the grief at bay, crying and upset at others, not sleeping. i suggsted the gp, as she said her mind races, although shes reluctant ,i said if she gets something , and sleeps, she will be able to think more clearly.
ds spent thursday throwing up, but was ok again friday. unfortunately , we had to wait around in the funeral directors, before leaving for the crem, and having been sat in the car for a bit, was in full wriggle mode, rather noisy too, felt awful as everyone else was silent
was in the service for a minute , then took him out, spent it sat in a back room with him, and the funeral chaps, watching on cctv! too worried about him being noisy, went back in for the last couple of mins. which dh appreciated
so ,still upset that i wasnt up with dh the previous week when fil was dying, and now feeling bad that i wasnt in there to support him for the service.
yesterday travelling back , i had dia, the runs, all day. ds cried most of the way home as he was overtired, and the final straw for me, dh had to stop on the hard shoulder to try and fix his window, as it was coming out of the runners! i was terrified, and praying very hard, you hear of people being hit on the hard shoulder, lorries were thundering past. but he sort of fixed it, and we came off sooner , and came back on the a roads.
so ,a little wrung out at the mo, all those little things on top of what we had to do, glad to be home.

mufti · 25/11/2007 09:43

that is a lovely poem, thanks Mary.
dh has read it , said he send it to his sister , so she and mil can read it
we had one called , death is nothing at all, by henry scott holland , on the service sheet
thats lovely too

mufti · 25/11/2007 10:12

and another thing, thinking while i was away,
i know i dont have enough fellowship with fellow christians , so thank GOD even more for all you lovely ladies
and all your kind wishes
and that i found this site . better go to church now..

Notquitegrownup · 25/11/2007 10:46

Aw Mufti. Big hug. Sorry that you had a tough time, but do remember, as you said before, that your dh now has you and a delicious little ds to be with. Even though you weren't physically in the service with him, you were close by and you will both bring him lots of comfort and joy in the weeks/months and years to come.

Your words to your mil sound wise. Your time on the hard shoulder sounds v. scary. At least you could pray! I can't imagine how folks cope in such a scary situation, if they don't believe that they have a heavenly father looking after them, to whom they can talk, and who will listen to them and hold them when afraid. (I always have a picture of God smiling patiently whenever I fly. I have to pray fervently throughout every take off, landing and any turbulance, to keep the plane in the air! But just as I would always want to be there for my children when they are afraid, so He is always ready to listen, smiling a bit, I guess, as I rabbit on.)

Thinking of you and praying for you all.

God bless.

mufti · 25/11/2007 13:22

oh crikey,NQGU, i didnt fly for 10 years when i developed a fear after a couple of turbulent flights, no faith then
i managed it again 2 years ago , with dh, and a lot of prayer. cant say i enjoyed , but i did it.
i did say to dh this morning that he would feel better if he had faith, he said well, mum has, and she doesnt, i just said , well she is still going to grieve and miss him but its different.
if i lose my mum, i know i'll see her again in heaven, that is so good.
