Looking back over the thread to do a summary, there is so much to thank God for in the past month or so:
Bobsmum coming more or less unscathed through a car crash, with bean intact, Podglet's bean doing well in 'secret' and most of all Pepperpot's wonderful news. God is good, never doubt it.

Lots of large and small struggles:
CaptainCaveman, CaptainDippy, MaryBS, Mufti, NQGU, Roseylea, Zipadisuzy and probably quite a few others struggling with negative feelings, anxiety and feelings of being a 'bad mummy'. Praying that you will derive your self worth from your Heavenly Father Who knows 'how we are made' and loves us with an unfailing love.
Harrisey with decisions to make about future ministry
NSFN for wisdom regarding relationships.
QueenofQuotes - giving thanks for a better relationship.
Creambunnie for wisdom and strength in dealing with a difficult marriage.
PandaG for a new job that's just right

Praying with ChocolatePeanut for poorly mother and baby, giving thanks that the news so far is good.

And giving thanks with Dumbledoresgirl for the recovery of NASW/Losty, who is now PhoenixSoaring, how marvellous is that?

We keep praying for OnlyJoking and MummytoT&F, who are both still in very hard places.

MumtoGusnAlbie, MorticiasMother, NotanOtter and Shreksmissus, let us know how we can continue to pray for you. If I have forgotten to mention anybody, God never forgets and He loves you.
And everyone who has a look at this thread, we know that 'our help comes from Him Who has made heaven and earth, Who loved us before we were formed and Who never abandons what He has begun. Praise be to His Holy Name.

Wonderful stuff rosey - how lovely the Lord should use you in this way - Praying for that lady too - hope she is feeling less miserable today!

Ooooooh, podglet - Polegate - that is just down the road from me - about a 5/10 min drive!! I live just off Seaside Road in Eastbourne, very near the amenity tip! Will you be coming to visity our SIL sometime!!? you will have to pop in for a cuppa!!

geekymummy · 18/10/2007 14:28

hi all,

I'm sorry that I haven't been in fellowship with you all lately!

Can you please pray for me and DH, we're going through a rough patch...

podglet · 18/10/2007 16:42

CD - tbh I would rather just come and see you! SIL unfortunately not a v nice person - she once told me that if I got pg before she did, she would kill me and take the baby. No she wasn't joking I'm afraid... However, I'm still waiting

I've just heard my beans heartbeat - so exciting! The dr said he couldn't bring my scan forward but would try and get the heartbeat with the doppler. He warned that at 11+5 weeks he might not be able to yet but there it was loud and clear at 160 yay!

hi geekymummy, praying for you and DH

DutchOma · 18/10/2007 17:08

Podglet Your SIL said a horrible thing, can't get my head round it how anybody can say something like that in earnest. Grrr, go and see CD and don't bump into her.
Geekymummy, good to 'see' you and praying for a better relationship between you and dh. Any little ones to pray for?
Look out for ChocolatePeanut, I hope she will join us on this thread.

thsnks podglet and dutchoma... we have 1 DD, 7.5 months old

podglet · 18/10/2007 19:28

DO - I'm afraid she is a rather nasty person. She has also in the past attacked her sister with a set of carving knives and lots of other horrid things - let's not dwell on her.

I heard my baby today!!!!!!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/10/2007 20:48

Hi

I have been directed here by Dutchoma. We have all been praying for a friend who gave bith to a little girl 10 weeks early and both mum and baby were fighting for life some days ago.

Thanks to the prayers of everyone on here they have pulled through and should both make a full recovery.

Thanks to Jesus and lord keep shining your light on them

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/10/2007 20:49

DutchOma · 18/10/2007 21:06

Glad you could make it CP. We have been really pleased to be able to pray for your friend and her baby and will be equally pleased to uphold you and your unborn child before the Lord.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/10/2007 21:29

Thankyou I feel in very safe hands

It was so bleak last week for friend and now everything is brighter

PhoenixSoaring · 18/10/2007 21:46

I have been drawn to this thread to ask for prayer tonight, but I dont really know why. As most people will know I am a recovering alcoholic and also suffer with other mental health issues). Tonight I am struggling. Mentally. I have lost the ability to pray myself - and rather cheekily thought I'd see if a kind MNetter would be able to do so for me?

Thanks

notsofarnow · 18/10/2007 22:17

pheonixsoaring am praying for you sweetie. Someone once said to me that its like the story of the man lowered through the roof to Jesus - he couldn't pray for himself but was healed because of the belief/prayer of his friends.

At times like this all you can do is allow others to carry you.

As for the rest of you praying.

Went to assertiveness parenting today and got upset. Just looked at where I wanted to be as a person and what and where I am and just felt a complete and utter failure.

I know I just have to give the whole xh situation to God but I'm just scared. Scared for the future, scared for the childrens future.

But in saying that xh has said he's not had a drink now for a week and a half.

PhoenixSoaring it is an utter delight to be able to respond to your prayer request - we are all praying for you and with you. Lord hold PS in your caring embrace, nurture her and comfort her, you know her needs O Lord. Bring the Peace of Jesus into her life and may the Holy Spirit embrace PS and give her everlasting comfort.

Guys, my back is KILLING me! Felt it 'twang' at hockey training tonight and can't stand up straight. Ouchie ouchie ouchie. Prayers for healing and being able to walk tomorrow. I look like I'm a stooped over 70 year old, and I've shrunk 3 inches in height!!

CaptainCaveman · 18/10/2007 23:26

ok so 3 inches is an exaggeration. Off to gp if I can't stand up tomorrow.

does this mean I can't play hockey on saturday morning.....

hobbling off to bed....will take about half an hour to make it next door.....

creambunnie · 19/10/2007 00:01

HI everyone,

Will be remembering you all in prayer tonight and just want to thank you all for praying for me and dh and dd.

Good news - we are at peace (for now anyway!) I was strongly aware of a sense of prayer since joining this thread and how awesome a comfort that has been.

Dh and I had major blowout on Tuesday which led to talks and talking and more talking and eventually to us dealing with the various issues, drawing boundaries and trying hard to support and talk to each other. And guess what.... peace and happiness have entered in!! I pray God continues to bless this to us and that our marriage will now be secure.

I did mention a link which I would post which was inspirational to me so here it is....
www.kerryshook.org
and its his message on "Band Aid" the first stage to healing....

Please let me know what you think.. To be honest there are lots of brilliant sermons/transcripts on his site - he also features on the God Channel for those of you with Sky.

Love and blessings to all and thanks to God for saving my marriage, my health and supremely my dd's happiness with her mum AND dad staying together.

DutchOma · 19/10/2007 09:18

Lord, what a lot to thank you for. Praise be to your Holy and Glorious name.
PS thank goodness you came on here to ask for prayer, how are you this morning?
Podmog, thank the Lord the meeting went well.
Creambunnie, I know I shouldn't be so surprised that prayer works, so delighted. Hope you will be able to get out on this beautiful day.
CC Prayers for your back, it can be just so sore and so utterly disabling. Playing hockey on Saturday?
NSFN yes, my love, you should give it all to God, so glad xh is staying off the booze, but a week and a half is not very long. Are there other signs to show he is a 'reformed' character? Like putting the washing in the machine?
Mary how did your meeting go?

CaptainCaveman · 19/10/2007 09:40

Given that I can't walk without looking like I'm 89 I think hockey is out of the question! Going to docs this morning as i can't stand up straight, and grunt every time I move...bugger. Hoping he might give me some muscle relaxant so at least my spine can straighten up.

I really like the Kerry Shook message CB, am going to listen to that in full (got 5 mins before ds dragged me off!).

God bless you all in everything you do today, may you be filled with the Holy Spirit and the Peace of Jesus.

DutchOma · 19/10/2007 10:03

Amen to that CC and may the Lord be with you as you go to the docs this morning

Good morning all.

What a lovely start to the day CP, CB and Pudmog.

Welcome ChocolatePeanut. Hello PhoenixSoaring. Big hugs NSFN. Praying for you all.

Fantastic news Creambunnie. Will keep on praying that you can continue to build on this fresh start - and that your dh gets the help he needs for his depression and alcohol problems too.

Well we had parents evening last night. Your continued prayers for ds1 would be much appreciated. His teacher was surprised that he is not happy at school, as he "seems very confident and popular." However, he has been being a bit mean to some of the children , although it is him who comes home to me in tears because he doesn't feel he has any friends. Prayers that I can support him and that he will feel loved and accepted for who he is, so that he doesn't feel the need to 'dig' at others. Hmmmmmm

Would also hugely appreciate prayers for help in finding ds1's Karate kit before Sunday!!! He has a grading coming up and I really don't want to have to spend £70 odd on a replacement suit and gloves and belt, when I know that I had them all in a bag, during a tidy up session last weekend at home.

I knew that tidying up was a bad idea

God bless all.

Notquitegrownup · 19/10/2007 11:06

Hi Cheritongirl. Good to see you back. How are you?

Hello everyone else! Where are you all this morning?!

CaptainDippy · 19/10/2007 11:08

Morning all! How is everyone on this bright, sunny day?? I am ok, feeling a bit bleurgh cos I was a dirty stop-out last night!! Had an NCT Quiz Night and didn't get in til 12am!! Oooooh, felt so naughty! Cold's getting worse too, cough is horrid.

Praying for you and your DH, geekymummy - Nice to "see" you here, do stick with us. Praying that God will be in every part of your relationship and that he would heal you both and enable you to talk together. xx

  • To hearing Bean's heartbeat, Podglet - how exciting!! Fab news - Praise God for that little miracle in your tummy! Whoop! Your SIL sounds well scary (& like she needs A LOT of prayer..) - I'll keep well clear, but will pray .....

Praying for you Phoenix, stick with us! xxxx

Praying for y ur back, Fellow Captain - ouch - praying it gets better asap. xxxx

Continuing to pray for your DS1, NQGU - praying for clairty and wisom in how to deal with him, especially re: issues at school. So hard for you; but he IS such a lovely, lovely young man .... he will come through the other side of this honey. xxxx Hope you find the karate kit and praying for the grading .....

ChocolatePeanut - Sooooooo pleased you found us! Praise God!!! - For the fantastic news about your friend and her little baby - do keep us updated - So wonderful that they are expected to make a full recovery - wow!

Thank God for the peace surrounding you atm, CB - Praying it would remain and God would hold you tight in His love and His care. xxxx

Such a lot to thank God for - This thread is great!

Notquitegrownup · 19/10/2007 11:19

Hi CD Gosh I haven't heard the phrase "dirty stop-out" since I was little. It was one of my Grandad's!

Hello Geekymummy. Sorry that I missed your post. Praying for you too.
