Good morning,

Thank you speakout I love that your coffee slot still has has priority! So often it’s those moments for ourselves that get lost when scheduled time shrinks which gives us a strong message about what’s important.. I’ve been making a point of ensuring I get a decent lunch break to make sure I get my priorities right!

Welcome Meadowlight it’s good to have you here. Thank you for the sea witch links- I’m looking forward to checking them out. I don’t use reversals in tarot these days as I see every card as having light and shade within it and which is prevalent depends on context IMO.

@GeeIneverthoughtofthat I’ve been thinking a lot about luck since your post and I re watched this old Derren Brown programme.

It might seem a bit odd to share this here as he spends much time trying to ‘de-bunk’ all that is seen as magical in many ways. For me though the magic is not about how it works, rather that it does. I think a lot of what is explored here shows that by having open energy and taking opportunities we do create our own luck. This I think is more empowering than a fatalistic idea that some people are lucky and others aren’t. I’d be interested to hear what others think.

Wishing everyone a magical day 💫

LusciousLavender · 05/06/2019 11:23

@YashmisCrone Thank you got the link it's really interesting, witches seem to get a bad reputation or people think it's something we play at. Salem didn't do much to help the stereotype at all. We're near the end but I refuse to watch it.

@speakout Hope you still got to enjoy your coffee. Do you have a favourite shop? Do you feel refreshed for sleeping in?

@Frostyapples - I'm mostly on oracle cards, I love it when a card justs out at you. I love my amethyst, it's not as fancy as yours, I tend to believe it's working.

@Meadowlight so so jealous you live by the cost, does the moon / tides affect you at? You can use YouTube to learn more about tarot, I read somewhere they should be respected, to me it was kind of stop and make sure I know what I'm doing.

@Loyaultemelie I swear by hot baths for pain, no matter where the pain is really. Another thing is adding oils, salts or specialist bath mixes. To really take it further have candles. They say bathing in sea salt is cleansing too.

Salem - you'll have to try and visualise what you want to see in there. I bet it's going to look lush, I would take advantage of a flower that had an aroma, as it heats everything so the fragrance would be amazing.

@purplefig Have you thought about a deep cleanse of the main areas around you, plus maybe yourself included, whatever method you use.

LusciousLavender · 05/06/2019 11:34

OH & I are a bit miffed, as I this problem for over 6 weeks, it finally decided to go. SD was moving, so it was all hands on deck, got back & the swelling is back, yesterday the pain was like no other.

I did say I really need to rest as much as I can. I think I said I was in OCD heaven sorting screws & other bits.

Last night I felt so rough till about 10pm. I also slept well and could still put my head down.

I've been chatting to a friend who paid crazy amounts to see this psychic. I could have told them what she did, as body language is a big giveaway, then facial expressions.

I'm determined I am going to do a lot more learning. I can do so much, I need to be confident though.

If anyone wants a reading, I'm thinking of using my Arthurian deck for the first time.

CircumzenithalArc · 05/06/2019 12:05

Meadowlight
Hello, when it comes to interpreting upside down cards, I avoid this because the deck I use is put back in order after every use. I believe cleansing and re-ordering cards after every use gives them their power. (I obviously shuffle them well before each reading).

It's very personal. The deck acts like a door, opening your mind to an interpretation facilitated by the card you see. If you find reverse cards helpful and they add something to your readings, go with them. Others like Yashmis might just look at all cards in context upside down or not. Many readers simply shuffle to make sure the cards don't go upside down, because it adds nothing to their reading.
It's up to you!

I'm a seaside soul too. I love the tides.

Here's a picture of our coastline hoard, some hagstones, many sparkly ones but they don't photograph well.

Oh ffs it's my split personality again.
CircumzenithalArc and DpWm are the same person...Hmm

speakout · 05/06/2019 15:35

I love this chat of the sea. I am way overdue a visit, my time is so limited right now, work, family demands. I live near a beautiful unspoilt coastline with some rocky coves, but short of 2/3hours at a stretch to go visit.
My self nurture has to be done in short bursts, I can't remember my last free day.
But we take what we can to affirm ourselves, and I am thankful that I can take lots of little moments through the day to gound and connect. I have a garden, and lots of trees nearby, I often just stand outside and take in a few calming lungfuls of fresh woodland air.
That sustains me for a while!
I keep my Tarot cards near by in the morningin my bedroom and will often draw a card for help or inspiration.
I keep a few favourite crystals on my bedside and will often do a quick goddess invocation as I start my day.

Hello, may I join please? I’m reading the thread and thinking I found my people. I am not sure if I am knowledgeable enough to put a label on what I believe in but I come from a long line of women very close to nature, quite intuitive and really feeling the energy of people and places. I’ve come to the point in my life when I would like to learn to use this better after years of neglecting it all.

Elphame · 05/06/2019 16:53

SheWhoIs hello and welcome!

Great collection CircumzenithalArc// DpWm ! And that's why I have only the one username. I'd never keep them straight!

Hope you are feeling better LusciousLavender

I did see the sea this morning - from the top of Burrington Coombe and was thinking I need a trip too. None of the beaches around Bristol are very nice though and it's a bit of a haul to the south coast. I may have to wait until I visit my parents in July.

My baby woodpeckers have left the nest! Unfortunately the dog caught one of them. It was rescued quickly and flew off so I'm hoping its OK.

YashmisCrone · 05/06/2019 17:55

I’m loving the sea talk too 🌊

I’m the same with the self nurture speakout I just spent a few minutes barefoot in the garden and used your fabulous sage and peppermint smudge spray in the house after opening the windows and feel lighter for it. I’m planning on an early night before the final push through the working week.

Welcome SheWhoIs, lovely to have you here Smile

Lovely to hear the woodpeckers have left the nest Elphame well done on the quick rescue!

speakout · 05/06/2019 18:26

SheWhoIs

Welcome, there is always tea in the pot! Don't feel the need to label what you believe or think- most of us are a happy blend of what feels right.

Elphame
Glad you rescued the woodpecker- there has been carnage in my garden today because of one of my cats. I'm not happy about it.

YashmisCrone glad to hear you are having some self care- it become even miore important whan we are busy.

VioletCharlotte · 05/06/2019 18:39

Popping in to say hello before I fly out again. This week's been a busy one, but all good so far. I smudged my house from top to bottom yesterday, the energy seems much better now. My dog seems to be more settled too, which is interesting. He was definitely picking up on something.

Reverse cards in tarot readings - it's very much a personal thing. I read intuitively so go on what feels right. I get a gut feeling whether to the reverse meaning or not.

We all seem to be craving sea energy right now. Is about an hours drive for me, so not too far, but at the weekend it's always busy and there's so much traffic, I tend to avoid it. I need to book a few days off before the school summer holidays so I can get down there.

speakout · 05/06/2019 19:15

VioletCharlotte lovely to see you- I have such a strong image of you flying off. Hold on to your hat!

Meadowlight · 05/06/2019 23:35

Thank you everyone for the kind welcome. 😊 And thank you all for your thoughts on reversals, you’ve put my mind at rest that I don’t “need” them in my practice just yet...

Frostyapples your amethyst necklace sounds beautiful, what a wonderful thing to have and treasure.

Dpwm that is a magnificent seaside hagstone hoard. You’re making me want to go beach combing tomorrow.

LusciousLavender yes, I have used the tides in workings, in similar ways to how I’d use the waxing/waning moon. I also gather shells and driftwood / sea glass, most of my coat pockets have various seaside talismans inside. I have used seawater to cleanse / bless items, and rock pools can be great for scrying and divination.

I love forests and moorland and am lucky enough to live close to both of those too, but every time I move away from the coast, the sea calls me back again..

Elphame so exciting that the woodpeckers have fledged! What a privilege to observe a nest like that. Today at dusk I saw my first bat of the season 😊

Welcome SheWhoIs and other fellow newbies. And blessings to everyone by the aga. I hope you all have a restful night.

Kalim8 · 06/06/2019 09:56

Hello everyone, I'm not a witch/pagan/wiccan but I have immensely enjoyed the threads I've read and your beautiful ways with words.

Recently, dd (8) has expressed dissatisfaction at life and says everything is boring. What can I do to help make life magical within the constraints of work/school?

BlankTimes · 06/06/2019 10:39

Hi Kalim8 and welcome. grab a cushion and a cuppa.

How about trying to awaken his interest in Nature? Here's a few ideas to get you started.

Spot the different types of clouds as you walk around, then identify them here cloudappreciationsociety.org/

Watch sunrises and sunsets outside

Get him interested in the night sky, identifying planets and stars and moonphases.

Nature walks ID Trees and plants and birds

Let him plant easy to grow seeds or seedlings in the garden or in a pot, both to watch grow and to eat.

ID garden birds and learn about how far some have come to spend summer here.

Get a weather station so he learns about the elements

Walk on the grass in bare feet

Paddle between the sea and the shore

If he's very active, cycling through the countryside, take a picnic, learn which crops are which and watch them ripen and be harvested and turned into food, walking with a destination in mind but pay attention to what's around you on the path on the way there and back.

Geocaching www.geocaching.com/play

BlankTimes · 06/06/2019 10:44

Oops, very sorry, HER interest etc. I really do need new reading specs!

In short, connection to Nature is great for all of us, if she's interested, follow whatever awakens her interest, encourage her curiosity.

speakout · 06/06/2019 11:06

Kalim8

A very warm welcome, always space by the fire.

I see Balnktimes has given you some good ideas to help your DD connect.
An eight year old (and still some of us adults) still have a great sense of play. I have fairy doors in my house ( and only adults live here!)

I have had a sense of gloom and forboding in the past day or two, couldn't pin my finger on it, like is going Ok, but realised this morning when I popped into my local chiarity shop with it's D day window display,.

It;s all the collective grief and loss that I can feel from the D day commemorations. So time for my obsidian pendant today I thinK

This is why I LOVE these threads
I know your reply was to help Kalim8 (hi I do hope you are able to inspire your DD. I'll reply to you too in a bit but I'm just off our)...
But you've really helped me with your link to the cloud appreciation society. It's so funny because I took this picture of an exemplary Stratus Undulatus above Sainsbury's yesterday, and thought to myself "I wonder if there's a cloud appreciation society?"

Here's a portrait of you in your pastel colours. I posted it on here in the early days and Yashmis found your name Halloween Grin

Speakout your obsidian is a great choice, maybe a self-smudge too and a bit of deflection to stop the outside atmosphere pervading yours?

Ooh I'm really lost what to do for solstice, good news is we have the camper fixed, that's been a nightmare.

I really really really want to get a hagstone.

Am I right in thinking Glastonbury is going to be totally mental around the solstice.

Most other henges will have druids etc doing there stuff.

When I was doing my degree we went to this beach near Bristol that had lots of different rocks, I can't remember it's name now.

It would be nice to go to maybe a community based event, where there's lots on.

DH will take the Friday off, so we'll travel Thursday, I'll aim to see sun rise & sun set. Then we can travel somewhere else.

Does anyone on here do medium like work? I've had a rough time since Dec 2017, it cumulated with a surprise pregnancy we were told would never happen, DH worrying how old he is, then Mother Nature intervened and we lost our little boy 7/8 weeks ago. I think it's 7, as I can't seem to stop the blooming updates.

There's a relative in particular I miss as they were like my back bone if that makes sense. I give consent for anyone that can connect to see if anything shows. Being really cheeky maybe a tarot / oracle reading too.

I promise to pay it forward on here, if that's ok?

I just feel all jumbled up with emotions, I need some clarity and a bit of a plan. Are there any stones for such a situation?

Also on solstice is the sun a good source for charging (if it's out of course)

BlankTimes · 06/06/2019 14:53

Hi LL

So sorry to hear what'as been going on.

My opinion is that when going through such a lot of emotional upheaval, it's not a great time to rely on or take notice of anything that turns up using divination when you don't do it yourself, (and sometimes when you do!) simply because your frame of mind is dancing all over the place and what the reading says will apply to the time you asked it, not necessarily to when you've gone through several mind-hoops later that day.

Take some time to be still, ground, centre and meditate a little each day, regain your inner strength and don't expect it to happen very quickly. Physically we heal, emotionally we take much longer to heal. Be gentle with yourself, stop flying off on tangents wanting to do stuff, be still and find what you need within, take your time, do something nurturing for yourself every day.

Maybe try a dawn meditation to greet the solstice, the sun will rise wherever you are. Flowers

I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a hard time of late. Sending lots of love ❤️

Blank Times has given you some really sound advice. I've been where you are, the temptation is to try anything - readings, reiki, crystals to help try and heal. None of these are a quick fix though. It's takes a long time to heal, but there are things you can do to look after yourself and make the process less painful. I would suggest just focusing on self-care for now - meditation, wholesome food, walks in nature, exercise, aromatherapy oils. Do all these things regularly and slowly you'll start to feel better.

For the solstice, why not just find somewhere peaceful to watch the sunrise? Personally, I'd avoid anywhere there will be too many people as I find it overwhelming. I have an awareness of your energy being all over the place right now, I feel you need to slow down and find some calm.

Sending love and healing energy out to you 💕

Sending lots of love and healing energy

speakout · 06/06/2019 18:56

VioletCharlotte I am totally with you on Solstice celebrations. Sometimes the most meaningful moments have been the most simple-those when I have been alone, lighting a candle to welcome the dawn and mark the moment.
