Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Good evening,

Just taking a few minutes to sit by the aga with some calming tea.

Forgive me, I’m not up to date but look forward to catching up with everyone’s posts. I love to come here and find so many interesting thoughts and ideas- always a treat.

For now I just wanted to share a few special moments amongst a very busy few days here in terms of work, travel and being throughly peopled out!

The wonderful energy shared here and speakout’s lovely candle energy sharing have been a great support to me 💖

This morning I noticed this lovely busy bee enjoying a yellow poppy and smiled then felt supported by the synchronicity of this.

After a family event I drove home this evening over the moors. I felt to need to stop and take it in. I don’t often ‘dress up’ but this occasion called for some effort in this respect. I took off my boots and tights (what dreadful things tights are!) and walked barefoot on the soft grass, feeling the calming grounding earth energy.

Then I waded into the glorious cold water of the stream and walked through it, getting my posh (for me!) frock soggy to thigh height. It felt gloriously cleansing and rejuvenating. Just what I needed.

When the ice cold water had done its job and the sound of the stream had soothed me I walked back to the car. I came across this beautiful wild pony- a reminder of the white horse from my recent journey meditation and the Rhiannon energy within it.

I’m back home now and have work to complete for tomorrow but I feel calmer and am glad I followed my instincts to take the time to ground and connect like this.

The inspiration, support and encouragement I get from my wise sisters here has meant I’m more likely to take these moments and take care of myself in this way. Thank you 🙏

Love to all x

Loyaul thanks for the positive energy. 🙏

Yashmi a lovely way to start the day reading your description of your wonderful grounding moment. You know what you need and you take action to meet those needs (despite the posh frock!) No wonder you are able to give so much to others as you do on this thread.

And agreed, tights are horrid things!

Off to the coast today with the kids. They love helping me to search for hagstones and sea glass and we all respond well to the refreshing, cleansing energy of the sea. I think we need that today. Everyday is a fresh start and the ocean can only make it fresher.Smile

Have a magical day everyone, whatever you are up to.x

Just popping in with a picture from this morning's walk

beehivemind · 03/06/2019 13:03

I'm enjoying a new phone app I've discovered - Daff Moon. It's free and doesn't have ads (or at least I haven't seen any yet). All sorts of daily stats on the moon and planets

speakout · 03/06/2019 13:26

YashmisCrone I love the image of you wading barefoot through the river getting your posh frock wet- you are an inspiration. How wonderful that the goddess sends you these signs.
FitzsFool I hope you have a good day at the beach - I would love to see your treasures.

beehivemind A beautiful calm picture- thanks for posting.

Yashmis I loved reading your post. How liberating and free it must have felt to remove your tights (horrible things!) and wade in the cool water. Just perfect!

Beehive beautiful picture. We're all so lucky to have so much nature around us 😊

Fitz I hope you enjoyed your day by the sea. I really want to go down to the coast soon, I don't go nearly enough now that the DC are older. I hope you found a hagstone!

Blessings for the Gemini new moon tonight 🌙💫

FitzsFool · 03/06/2019 18:43

Great picture Beehive, what a great spot for a walk.

Lovely day here, a fresh start by the sea and warm westerly winds whipping through the house on our return. The air from yesterday has been cleared, quite literally.

I found a hagstone and then shortly after my eldest proudly held up his own "baby hagstone" as he dubbed it. A tiny stone with a tiny hole but he found it.

Warm yet fresh here this evening. Perfect for New Moon magic.x

SalemSpellman · 03/06/2019 19:02

@FitzsFool beautiful hagstones! Do you live near the sea?

FitzsFool · 03/06/2019 21:47

Salem about a 30/40 min drive to the sea. The beaches we visit are primarily stone beaches and one in particular is always chock full of hagstones, on some visits we were finding 15, 20 or more.

My youngest also thinks that every stone they find is a dinosaur bone/treasure/shark tooth, so as you can imagine, we often come home with full buckets!Grin

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 03/06/2019 22:30

Hello all

Thank you all for the kind welcome back. I’m really enjoying reading the stories of different experiences and feeling all the positive energy in this group.

Today I had the most amazing piece of luck. I was fortunate enough to be offered something that is very difficult to obtain. I have spent the day thinking how amazing it is that little ordinary old me has been so fortunate. People have often told me that I’m lucky in life - that could be true. Equally I think that you have to be open to the idea that it may just actually happen.

Does anyone else feel this? What do you think of “luck”? Is being open to an outcome actually attracting it?

I may not be expressing this very well. Lol. Still a bit bamboozled Smile

YashmisCrone · 03/06/2019 23:12

Thank you for your lovely words relating to the grounding/clearing experience I shared yesterday sisters.
When I waded into the river I sat on a rock in the middle of it for a while and enjoyed the water flowing over my legs.
I felt cleansed and renewed. I’d certainly recommend impromptu ‘re-wilding’ as an antidote to the overload we can all feel sometimes. I know many of us do this instinctively.
Much likerivier’s recent spontaneous sea swimming. Magic.

I’m smiling at the shared dislike of tights. I don’t think they’re the natural clothing choice of those who prefer to feel free!

I’ve enjoyed catching up with the thread this evening. Always so inspiring and so much resonance.

Speakout, I loved noticing how the zesty solar energy you shared here spread throughout the thread, warming our hearts and lifting our spirits.
I’ve spent a few minutes retuning into that energy this evening. It’s so beautiful and I can feel the warmth as I focus on your picture. 🙏

Elphame your Blodeuedd jar is fabulous. I love it. I chuckled at the story of how those cauldrons made their way from the Methodist church to you to be used for their true purpose.

Salem I’m very much enjoying following the progress of shed and garden. Thank you for sharing it with us. Like the others I loved the story of your lamppost and I don’t think I’ll be surprised to hear if you end up with a phone box in your possession!

Violet I hope your round trip to take your son to the airport went smoothly and that you’re able to make the trip you crave to the coast soon.

Fitz So lovely to hear of the clearing and energising your day by the sea brought you. The baby hagstone comment from your eldest is so sweet. Sounds like just the magic you needed today. Perfect.

beehivemind thank you for that wonderful photograph. I really like the reflection of the clouds in the water. So calming. That app sounds interesting, thank you for sharing it with us. I loved reading about the nudge you had to join us. I’m glad you did.

Gee Wow! That’s amazing! I think similarly of luck to you. That being open to the possibility of it is the same as attracting it. I’ve noticed that if I ‘hold’ the possibility with a lightness of spirit then I’m more likely to be in a state of flow in which I attract the ‘luck’ Likewise if I get in a tizz about something and feed it anxious energy then I shut down the flow and block the attraction of whatever it is. Sounds like you have quite a gift for manifesting. Lovely stuff Smile

I can’t remember who it was but someone mentioned planting by moon phases a little while ago. I read this today which I thought was interesting. I seem to remember my grandad used to work with moon phases on his allotment

permacultureprinciples.com/post/planting-by-the-moon/

Wishing everyone a sense of newness and possibility as we open ourselves up to the energy of the Gemini new moon 💫

Good morning all, changed my name again. Keep thinking about posting stuff, then think about it more & give up. My memory is so bad, I've finally made notes so I can write to everyone.

Sat here with one eye closed so I think I need a cat nap before anything else.

So many blessings for all till I get back Star

LusciousLavender · 04/06/2019 08:39

I've decided to push through, hoping I can sleep tonight.

@YashmisCrone The grounding / cleansing in the river sounds amazing. Which beach is the best for hagstones? Do you try and manifest them, or does nature put them in your line of sight?

@GeeIneverthoughtofthat Congratulations on the luck. I didn't know at the time, but now I know I can manifest things, although I think luck & money are bad omens. I'm the crazy chick who gets excited picking up a penny

@FitzsFool I'm sure you've said before, where do you go hagstone hunting? It's so amazing living near the sea, I'd always be there. Does DS like finding fossils, as a few years ago I was talking to a family, the father / son activity was hunting for fossils on a particular beach on the south east coast. Do you cleanse & charge the hagstones, or do you think they've been cleansed in so much water it's ok? In the day I don't have the tv or radio on. I love to unwind in the silence as DH is deaf and trying to get them sorted, he watches everything so it's booming. I also urn incense too.

@VioletCharlotte Many blessings for you after last nights Gemini new moon. How are things without DS1?

@beehivemind Thank you so much for that app recommendation, it sounds super? Have you done the website check of where the sun & moon & others planets were at when you were born? That river is gorgeous, lavender is my go to for pretty much anything.

@Elphame Fingers crossed and lots of blessings for the salivas. There's something about being in a quiet spot in the rain, I really enjoy it. It has to be the right location and atmosphere though.

@Loyaultemelie I personally make sure Sunday is a 'Do the bare minimum' day, so you can just unwind & enjoy your time, if it's catching up with a book, or being creative to watching a movie. I make sure for a good portion to really recharge there's no noise at all, apart from maybe the fire depending on weather.

@SalemSpellman aww wow the lamp post sounds lush. Have you thought about scrap yards for the telephone box, you can call first and check, then depending how much work it needs you can do it yourself, or like the lamp post. Would you put some plants in there like a mini greenhouse?

@speakout How are you getting on?

@WrappedInBitsOfSilver I was half asleep and read your comment so wrong, although that would be unique in a way. Some people use lemons with rock salt / sand to exfoliate with, its good as you've got something that won't melt as easy as say the lush bars for the same. I'll have to see what I can find for you.

I've been awake since 4am, I've got bigger tens pads for my revitive machine, they work so well. It's a largish unit, so it can go up to 100. I'm so fed up of meds no this is really good. We were helping SD move, my OCD came in good for sorting all the screws etc. We didn't get in till half 10, I just couldn't sleep. If I sleep in the day it impacts the night. I did find my amethyst out of place so wondering if that's why.

I've got bits to sort out today, nothing overly exciting, after the last trip the Camper is broke, guessing we won't be going anywhere for solstice. Has anyone else got plans yet?

Have a blessed day all. StarThanksStar

VioletCharlotte · 04/06/2019 09:18

Luscious Lavender that's an impressively long post! How kind of you to take the time to reply to us all individually. The kindness and thoughtfulness on this thread never fails to lift me 😊

I've spoken to DS1, he's having a brilliant time on holiday. I have to admit to feeling a little anxious as it's first time abroad without me, but I know he's fairly sensible. It was lovely to speak to him yesterday and hear him so happy.

I'm struggling to get going today. My alarm went off when I was in the middle of a dream, so I woke somewhat dazed and confused! I'm having a coffee and trying to wake up before getting down to work.

The energy around me has been feeling a little stagnant the last few days. Reading the posts on here has made me think I need to get out into the woods or down to the coast and recharge my batteries.

Hope you all have a great day 🙏

beehivemind · 04/06/2019 09:41

Morning all

@LusciousLavender I'll have a look at where the planets were at my time of birth, there seem to be several websites that will calculate for free, which is great - thanks for the tip

@YashmisCrone thanks for the link to the planting by the moon article

I've been enjoying Jessi Huntenburg on you tube - I find her approach quite refreshing. Does anyone else have any favourites?

I've also watched the lovely Tylluan Penry and like Molly Roberts too.

I find it fascinating that we have this technology available to us now, and that it's possible to be a solitary practitioner yet feel part of a community

Hi everyone - I was just having a poke around some other places on mumsnet and was intrigued by this thread. I read some of the first one, and a few pages back of this current one and what a lovely bunch of women you are! I feel calmer through simply reading your words.

I have always been strangely drawn to some of these ideas, though I wouldn't have previously categorised them as magic. For example, I know I need to be in nature to get grounded and I enjoy meditation. More specifically, I'm intuitively drawn to some of these approaches to life e.g. I had a very difficult experience with a friend and I was spiraling quite badly, so I had the idea to write her a letter and burn it. And afterwards I felt completely free. My mum tells me as a toddler when she told me my great uncle had died, I told her I knew and that he'd come to say goodbye and went on to mention what he was wearing accurately.

Sorry to ramble. I think that's just where I'm at with it all to be honest. Intrigued but confused! Any next step suggestions?

CircumzenithalArc · 04/06/2019 17:33

Hi everyone, I posted a while back but haven't been able to post for a while since!

I have just caught up on the latest posts, and would like to thank you for your seemingly endless supply of inspiration and ideas.

DpWm · 04/06/2019 17:43

Hello, meditation, burnings, a strong sense of spirituality, none of it is necessarily "magic". It sounds as though you are naturally inclined to explore and connect to your spiritual side, some people have this some don't.
Curiosity is a great thing, you take what you want to from what you learn, the great thing is there aren't rules to spirituality.

speakout · 04/06/2019 19:13

purplefig

A warm welcome, glad you popped by, there is always tea in the pot. We are a mixed bunch here, some witches, some wiccans, some pagans, some curious- all are welcome.
Next step - if you want to take any are up to you. Reading is always good, about any subject that takes your interest.

DpWm is right, there are no rules, this is your journey.
We are a friendly bunch though, and if you have any questions you will have lots of support and inspiration.

CircumzenithalArc lovely to see you again. Glad you dropped by.

@LusciousLavender I haven't decided what to do with the phone box, when I get it. I think it will depend what condition it will be in, I like the idea of a mini green house. I definitely want flowers around it.

I love all things historical, and something about red phone boxes capture my heart, I want to give an iconic piece of history a new lease of life.

Loyaultemelie · 04/06/2019 22:11

Hello everyone, nice to see you all.

Welcome purplefig.
*
Lusciouslavender* glad to hear that the tens is helping you!

Fitz I love your big and baby hagstones, good for your ds!

I'm feeling very sore but very proud of myself after a torturous physio session and apparently making good (but slow!) progress. Tonight is the night I will finally attempt to shuffle upstairs on my backside and get a bath and into bed after 17 weeks. Dh was sorting out our bedroom after dds had been "camping" in it and dd1 found this ring Nanny gave me for my 18th which I thought I had lost forever.

Any Witches Here? Part 8.
YashmisCrone · 04/06/2019 23:29

What a lovely find Loyaul really good to hear of your progress and such a significant moment to be able to go upstairs to your bath and bed. It’s as though your Nanny is spurring you on!

Welcome purplefig, glad you found us. It sounds like you’re very in touch with your intuition already. Those intuitive rituals and practices like the ones you describe in your post are great I think. Full of the power of flow. There’s lots of interesting links and ideas throughout the previous threads and as speakout says, we’re all happy to answer questions as best we can and chat about different subjects- even if we have before there’s always something new to discover.

Good to see you again CA 👋

Thanks for the link beehive, I’ll look forward to watching. The only other two YouTube witches I’ve watched are the ones you also mention following recommendations here.

Violet I hope the day picked up a bit for you, mine was a bit of a drag energetically too. I’m about to have a search for some clearing meditation music to fall asleep to. Good to hear your DS is having a good time.

Lavender glad the tens machine is working well, that must be a relief. I haven’t made any solstice plans, I’ll be starting to think about how I want to mark the turning point of the year and work I’d like to set in motion harnessing the energy and build something from there. Thanks for the reminder- things have been so busy I haven’t noticed how close it’s getting!

I read this article earlier-

time.com/5597693/real-women-witches

mixed feelings overall but I really liked this:

the witch is a shining and shadowy symbol of female power and a force for subverting the status quo. No matter what form she takes, she remains an electric source of magical agitation that we can all plug into whenever we need a high-voltage charge.

Meadowlight · 04/06/2019 23:58

Is there room by the aga for one more? Smile Since finding these threads a month or so ago I have slowly read my way from 1 to 8! It has been so restorative - thank you, all of you.

Living on the coast, I have been captivated by the pull of tides and the ‘between-ness’ of the seashore for as long as I can remember. Some posters upthread were talking about using the sea in witchy ways and Melusine Draco has some good ideas in her short book called Traditional Witchcraft for the Seashore.

You could also check out The Sea Priestess on YouTube, she lives near Bournemouth and treads a very oceanic path..

Finally @Frostyapples a couple of pages back you asked about moonstone necklaces. I’m with the others that it’s always better to try stones in person, but I wanted share the work of Mishka Samuel who makes the most beautiful mala necklaces - expensive and from the US so you might end up with a customs charge. But still within your budget and they are v special. I have two, plus some bracelets (I save up birthday money!) and use them endlessly, in meditations / EFT tapping and for protection..all the time really. They all ‘felt right’ when they arrived, which is subjective I know, but worth bearing in mind - for inspiration perhaps if not an actual purchase!! She also has an Etsy shop..

I have a tarot question for you all - having just purchased the everyday witch tarot app until I can afford the actual deck. Which of you use reversals in your practice? As a tarot novice (using the RW deck) I haven’t yet tried - I’d be interested to know if any of you find adding in reversals enriches your insights. Thank you Smile

Frostyapples · 05/06/2019 06:52

Thank you @Meadowlight they are very beautiful. Since posting I have treats myself to a beautiful piece of amethyst set in gold. It called to me from a shop I don't usually go in and then when I saw it it had to be mine!!
As to the tarot question for me it depends on the spread and the deck. Reverse cards are always crying out for attention but could be 'the flip side' of someone's character or could be asking you to pay particular attention to an aspect of your life. I would say use your intuition to see what fits with your feelings on the card.

speakout · 05/06/2019 07:17

A bright good morning, just a flyingi visit as I have slept later than I intended, but my coffee slot still has a high priority!

Meadowlight a big welcome, so glad you cave come to sit with us, there is alwyas plenty room. THanks for the link about the Mala necklaces, I have been toying with the idea of buying one recently.

Re the Tarot reversals, I do take heed with other decks, but the Everyday Witch Tarot is designed not to utilise that aspect- in fact Deborah Blake talks about that in the guide book that comes with the pavk. So no reversals in the deck, which I think suits perfectly, such a lovely playful tone.

YashmisCrone I hope you managed to have some restorative sleep, and thanks for the link, I will have a read later it looks very interesting.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.
