Nice guesses Yashmis, so hard to tell from a small image and the stones being tumbled/polished.

The second row up second one in purple one is a puzzle because it's so dark, has it got lots of mica shards in it, look a bit like silver glitter? If so I've got a raw bit and will think if its name in a minute - Lepidolite

Thing is with many small tumbled stones, people add dye to agate because it takes the colours so easily.

BlankTimes · 01/03/2019 23:34

The pink and black is very likely Rhodochrosite.

BartonHollow · 01/03/2019 23:36

Last pic because the camera is definitely causing a photo ruining shadow 😱

Apologies for the chocolate mark GrinBlush

I'll go through all the names systematically, thanks so much

The picture not doing justice, very shimmery within and amber style patterning

BlankTimes · 01/03/2019 23:38

Or Rhodonite

Here, check them out on this site I've just found.

YashmisCrone · 01/03/2019 23:40

Barton it’s under ‘edit’ on my iPhone. Save photo, edit, Mark-up then 3 dots at the bottom to add text. Just discovered it!

BlankTimes thanks, I’ve no idea if I’m anywhere near close but thought it might give something to go on for further searching! I’m comparing them to my ‘crystal bible’. As you say, it’s hard to get tell what they really look like. it’s been a fun way to spend a few minutes!

  • button not 3 dots!

This is the book I’m looking at

www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/books/judy-hall/the-crystal-bible-volume-1-godsfield-bibles-a-definitive-guide-to-crystals/GOR001238690?keyword=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjenCsY_i4AIVLbXtCh3q6AOVEAQYASABEgL-NfD_BwE

I got it from a bookstall at the library and finding that link I’ve just seen that there are 3 volumes Shock

Right, I must get to bed before I fall down a crystal wormhole and/or end up on an eBay spending spree!

Sleep well sisters 💤 💫

BlankTimes · 01/03/2019 23:51

Yashmis The Crystal Bible is a great reference, Judy Hall? Just nipped upstairs and got mine, Check out page 350, the "textbook" crystal that I named mine after.

I just guessed without looking any up.

YashmisCrone · 01/03/2019 23:53

Yes! I saw that one when I was looking through and thought of your lovely crystal! Smile

Mistymount · 02/03/2019 02:09

Hi to Clairethewitch70, Hedgehogblues, Claredogmum and anyone else new that I may have missed.

Ooh, this new thread is moving along so very quickly. I’ve had a busy/frustrating few days with the builders & engineers trying to sort flood defence & water collection/treatment options for our new home. Hopefully, we have something that will work for both us and council now.

Autumn has announced its arrival here – banks of cool (well, 25C) mist have been rolling in from the valley all morning. A most welcome change in the weather, even the birds have been squawking their delight from the mist-dampened trees and bushes. The windows are all open and the breezes are rushing through the house – a wonderfully cleansing feeling.

Smashing brew Blank - thank you Brew . I’ll bank up the Aga before I leave.

Elphame To answer you from the last thread, no, I haven’t had the chance to really look Aboriginal divination as yet. I have done a little reading around death customs and cave paintings, but it is just a superficial appreciation really. I feel as though I’m still finding my way, so I’m trying to do lots of wide-ranging reading and equally lots of thinking about how practices feel for me personally. It is just as Speakout said, doing things from the heart because they feel right, not necessarily because they are book approved.

Violet When we moved over here, we broke up the flight with a brief stay in Abu Dhabi. Previously, myself & DH had just done the whole thing in one go, but didn’t feel that the boys (then 8 & 11) would have managed it. (slight aside: if anyone is ever thinking of going to Abu Dhabi - the mosque is a stunning piece of architecture and so, so calming.)

Longing Hope that the LO is responding to treatment and that you all get the care and rest you need as they recover.

Loyaul Lovely to see you perched by the Aga once again – hope you and the whole family are through the worst of it now. Sending you all healing energies.

There are some beautiful crystals being posted here and that stone is marvellous speakout.

I have just lit a pink candle today to share the nurturing energy with my sisters here in the hope that you all wake up refreshed later.

Blessings all.

Mistymount · 02/03/2019 03:03

Eeek! Just realised I have not one, but two, social events today where I will know no one but DH & the DSs. I am totally useless at these kind of things. Sigh.

speakout · 02/03/2019 07:08

Mistymount

Your social engagements sound challenging. I hope all goes well. I wear a goddess quartz or obsidian or a jade pendant for these occassions.

Hello ladies, may I also join?

I've been getting a lot of signs all of a sudden lately about reentering/realigning with witchcraft. It's been so long, but something just seems to be trying to tell me it's time to make time for it again.

I lost a lot of all my old tools when my mum got everything repossessed, so it'll take me time to build up my beloved crystal collection again but luckily I already follow a few lapidary artists on Instagram who often have some beautiful stones so I'm looking forward to doing that :)

YashmisCrone · 02/03/2019 08:59

Good morning,

Yorkshire tea for me this morning!

I hope everyone’s had a restful night and is able to have some time to recharge over the weekend.

Misty thank you for the lovely candle energy for us all and for stoking the aga while we slept Smile

I hope the social engagements go as well as they can. I have a work event today that will take me out of my comfort zone- I’m wearing my jade pendant and will be looking for sparkly things shortly too!

Welcome Dimsumlosesum
Glad you could join us Smile

Hope everyone has some magic in their day

longnight · 02/03/2019 09:32

speakout · 02/03/2019 09:42

Dimsumlosesum

Morning everyone.

I've woken up with a pounding headache so sipping a mint tea and hoping it'll subside soon.

Good luck today Yashmis hope it goes well.

And sending out support to you Misty I find those kind of social events difficult too.

It's a funny day, great sky and thick cloud. I feel like a great weight is pushing down on me.

Loyaultemelie · 02/03/2019 09:44

Good morning all, hello Dimsumlosesum

Good luck Mistymount and thank you for your candle energy. I'm having several visitors today which I find challenging not being able to move and even make a cuppa.

Hills I too have been having the urge to gather protective items.

Elphame I love the idea of your hagstone retiring

Elphame · 02/03/2019 09:47

@BartonHollow - that blue "sodalite" looks like it could be lapis to me. Check under both.

longnight · 02/03/2019 09:47

Cushion pulled up :)
I'm very excited today I have confirmation that I have been accepted on a diploma for crystal therapy I love playing with my crystals and wanted to use them and maybe oils to help others. So hopefully I will be accepted on an aromatherapy diploma soon.

speakout · 02/03/2019 09:53

longnight

How exciting! Lovely to have someone with these skills on the thread.

Barton the all pink stone is pink tourmaline i think and the dark one with pink bottom looks like rhodanite to me the blue one looks like socialite. The white one is either moonstone or possible opal.

shartfantastic · 02/03/2019 10:40

This has probably been asked before, if so, apologies. Can anyone recommend any books on the subject for an interested newcomer?

Elphame · 02/03/2019 10:45

Hello shartfantastic and welcome.

Can you narrow it down a bit? What particularly interests you?

MrFMercury · 02/03/2019 10:50

Good morning
I found some dried chamomile yesterday so I can have a go at making my own tea, will that work with the magic teapot?
I am trying to read and study whenever I get chance and I've written my first spell to try tomorrow. It's a motivation spell and I never thought I'd try and write my own but the more I read about correspondence the more ideas I am getting about what makes sense to me to put together.
My other daughter has also been reading all our books and decided she too wants to explore Wicca. So we are our own little study group. We all have slightly different focus too which I love because we are learning from each other and pooling knowledge.
I have a question about where to start astrology wise. I'm not really really into it exactly but when you guys talk about planets being in retrograde I don't know what it means. I know my star sign and that's it. Does anyone have any websites or books they trust that are easy to get into. My searches so far are just confusing me! Also I'm now going to buy a salt inhaler because it looks like it's just what I need!
