Good morning,

This thread moves fast! How wonderful to check in and see such beautiful pictures, listen to that fabulous uplifting song and hear of the bittern and birth of the lambs. Magic ✨

Thank you for all you share sisters- being here never fails to lift my spirits, pique a new interest and inspire me. I love the thought of being connected with you like minded and wise women as I go about my day.

Elphame glad to hear you’re off doing nice things that will lift and revive you after that dreadful invasion of your privacy. I too was angry on your behalf to read that. I admire your strength of spirit and resilience. I hope you have a lovely day.

speakout I was really inspired by your reflections on love as an energy. I agree, it’s the most powerful force, and as you say- not in a woolly, fluffy way. Apt too- I’ve been having a challenging week and it’s easy to slip into a weaker vibration where actually coming from a place of love (I agree, sometimes this means reinforcing boundaries) does the job every time.

The sky is clear and blue here, the air still. There are primroses and daisies decorating the lawn and I’m enjoying a few minutes to breathe it all in where I can. I’ve got a lot on at the moment with the end of the financial year and all that brings, along with family commitments. The shift in seasons always seems to impact on my work with people too.

Nature boosts where I can grab them along with sitting by the aga when I can help me through pressured times like this.

Wishing everyone a springy boost in their day 💫

Some gorgeous pictures here!
After the lovely spring day yesterday, I had to get up very early to catch a plane today. So am exhausted.
On the plus side, as I was walking down to get the bus, the dawn chorus was absolutely beautiful, and so loud! I wasn’t expecting that volume

speakout · 28/03/2019 19:00

SockPortal

Thank you for that link- I am a huge Karl Jenkins fan too.

Elphame good tip about the coconut oil for the dragon's blood- I'll give that a go, thanks.

Lovely afternoon - I'm feeling really chilled with yet more evidence that this stuff really does work :)

Large G&T or two tonight I think!

speakout · 28/03/2019 20:48

Elphame

Lovely when that happens isn't it! Even now still gives me the tingles!

YashmisCrone · 28/03/2019 21:47

I think I’m better staying out of town and yomping through the woods! I went into The Works today and came out with these three books!

Lots more there too, including this one on self care for witches by the same author as the Green Witch book..

Glad to hear you’ve had a good afternoon Elphame I also love the thrill of evidence that this all works.

rivier how lovely to hear the dawn chorus. Hope you’re able to get some good rest tonight

Evening everyone, I've only ever used Dragonsblood in incense Speakout so won't be much use.
Spring is definitely here, there was a red legged partridge on my garden wall yesterday morning, never seen one in the village before although there are plenty in the fields nearby.

Yashmis Lovely pics and those books were waiting for you, more synchronicity.
Loyaul I too remember the tales of people drinking potin and going blind as it was so strong. It's brewed then distilled from potatoes.
Elphame oh yes, there's nothing like that feeling, amazing stuff.

Continuing my obsession with stones I can't resist sharing this fabulous true uplifting story. It's about what happens to the old beliefs and practises when people are moved out of their natural habitat and have to spend their time in cities.

In precis, these people had a practise where they would take a pebble from the riverbed to the top of a particular mountain which had its own standing stone(s) on the summit to ask its spirit for blessings for health and wellbeing. They were relocated to cities, so their shamen have built a 'mountain' in the city complete with standing stones and the people can now carry out their ancient rites.
megalithica.ru/shamanskij-kamen-svyashhennoj-goryi-sumber-uula.html
It's translated from Russian, but still very readable and the photos are just adorable.

YashmisCrone · 28/03/2019 22:45

I love that story BlankTimes 💜 and agree the pictures are adorable . I couldn’t work out how to read it in English though, so I’m glad you precised it Smile

While I think of it, can you remind of the word for thin places please? I was trying to think of it today..

BlankTimes · 28/03/2019 22:54

Liminal is often used for thin places Yashmis it's 'threshold' being between one place and the next.

If anyone else struggling with that article, try Google Translate, it takes blocks of text, isn't perfect but will do a reasonable job.

This is a very liminal place, the Grandfather Stone. www.megalithic.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=a312&file=index&do=showpic&pid=195225&orderby=dateD
Even has the between ancient and modern for mankind signified in the reindeer herder's sled and the jetski.

YashmisCrone · 28/03/2019 23:06

That’s it! Thank you BlankTimes.

I don’t like to lose a new word once I’ve learnt it! Smile

I’ve been thinking about liminal places a lot since the discussion here.

That grandfather stone is quite something- wonderful energy emits via the photograph. Lovely stuff, thank you 🙏

RosaWaiting · 29/03/2019 10:37

Elphame fascinating! And exciting.

to pp who said about moon gazing hare - I do have a picture of one on the wall.

I'm a concrete jungle dweller sadly. It is something I will be able to fix later in life, but not now. So loving all the nature pics etc.

Loyaultemelie · 29/03/2019 11:27

Elphame glad you had a lovely day
Yashmis what a great book haul!

Another little lamb born today and I managed to get out for some air in the garden in the wheelchair this morning so feeling a little brighter

EnchantersNightshade · 29/03/2019 11:45

Waves wheelchair wheels at Loyaultemelie Grin Loved the lamb news, thank you!

Isn't it wonderful when you do get out? Big lung-fulls of fresh air. Am hoping for this later or tomorrow.

speakout · 29/03/2019 11:58

Hello all

I’m sorry to have been absent so much of late. The last few months have been hard going. We lost another familiar and then had a family bereavement.

Now that things have settled a bit - and spring has raised the general mood a little - I’m hoping to catch up on the thread over the next few evenings.

Looking forward to catching up on everyone’s news. 😊

Mistymount · 30/03/2019 00:16

A fitful night’s sleep as we ended up with DS2 in our bed as he’d been scared by the storms overnight. He’s been this way ever since we had to move out of our previous rental due to storm damage. He was fine the other day when we were running through a storm after school. I guess everything takes on a different hue at night. Hopefully, time and reassurance will help him to feel safe again. More rain and mist today, so a chilled-out day for us all. I need to tidy away DS2’s camp things and help DS1 prep for his school camp this coming week. I also have a book from our fantastic library on sigil witchery that I’d like to spend some time with this afternoon.

Yashmis - I do miss shops like The Works. You never know what will find you in places like that. I have the green witch book and may treat myself to the self-care book because, well, you can never have too many books!

Elphame It sounds like you had a wonderful day. Nothing like time in nature to heal the soul and mind.

So lovely to hear about the arrival of the lambs Loyaul & that you managed to get outdoors.

Enchanters I do hope you have managed to get out and enjoy the spring air.

Fascinating article as always Blank - thank you. It reminded me of a little beach we found up near Cairns where people has randomly started building little stone towers. Of course, we stopped and did the same.

Speakout - I adore windy days, they feel so powerful. I used to love to sit on the edge of a hill in the woods near my UK home as the wind rushed up the hillside towards me (DS1 is doing the same in this photo from a few years ago). A great spot for meditation. Sadly, much of this area is now under threat of development, despite huge swathes of brownfield land nearer the town crying out for redevelopment.

Gee Welcome back. Come sit by the Aga and pour yourself a little of what you fancy from the pot. Sorry to hear you have had a rough time recently, Hopefully, things will be better for you.

Wishing you all a peaceful night.

Thank-you Speakout Halloween Blush if it wasn't for you with your insight starting the thread last year, none of us would have a voice here in this wonderful turret in cyberspace.

Great to see you again Gee enjoy catching up.

Misty thank-you for those images, people are so drawn to stones aren't they?
Are you familiar with the work of Andy Goldsworthy and Michael Grab?
Love this bit of MG's site, he understands stones!

“Gravity Glue” is the alias I created to describe and share my experience in the realm of Stone Balance Art/Yoga

Gravity is the only “Glue” that holds these structures in equilibrium.

Gravity Glue on the surface was initially created for sharing my balance art;
However, through time and experience, the cultivated ethos of Gravity Glue appears to demonstrate a process of learning to “flow” as an integral function of Nature. It is an archetype for creation, whose key to the universe is creative active meditation and alignment with nature, through which, one touches/experiences infinity on a regular basis.

A spontaneous collaboration with Nature, which often spirals into moments of transcendental beauty.

Mistymount · 30/03/2019 01:50

Blank - they are amazing! How does he get the stones to do that? Just how? Beautiful. Thank you!

YashmisCrone · 30/03/2019 08:14

Good morning,

I hope everyone has something nice planned for the weekend. It’s a busy time for me and I’m enjoying reading everyone’s updates, knowledge and wisdom shared. The perfect place for a welcome break 🙏

Misty those pictures are beautiful, thank you for sharing them Smile I agree you can never have too mumany books! and BlankTimes I love to hear your knowledge of all things earth/stone. ~Zen as Fuck~ Grin

Good to see you again Gee sorry to hear you’ve had such a tough time of it recently and glad to hear things are calmer now.

Loyaul what joy to have the birth of new lambs around you. I think they are gorgeous creatures- I don’t think anything skips around quite as adorably as a lamb! Glad to hear you got out on the wheelchair. Hope you managed to too Enchanters Smile

Rosa I’ve been largely city-bound this week- I’ve been admiring the stunning blossom on the trees in parks- do you have any near you? When I lived in the city I loved growing herbs on my windowsill as a connection with nature, my flat was full of nature treasures like stones, shells and pine cones. I hope you have somewhere near you that helps you connect.

speakout I love the sound of your springy manifestation energy. Beautifully fitting with the season Smile

Love to all x

Good morning. It's absolutely beautiful here today. I'm sat outside with a coffee, enjoying the blue sky and birds singing.

I've not posted much this week, but I've really enjoyed reading all your posts and looking at the pictures. This thread is always a sanctuary for me when things are tough.

I'm feeling much better than I was last weekend. The argument with DS really upset me and it took a good few days to feel ok again. We've had a good week though, spending time together everyday, walking the dog or chatting about music and I feel closer to him than ever.

Now looking forward to a good weekend seeing family and catching up with an old friend. I hope you all have a lovely day x

BlankTimes · 30/03/2019 10:32

Forgot to add links to my last post

Michael Grab www.gravityglue.com/about/

Can't find a particular one for Andy Goldsworthy, just Google his name and hit images, he works with a variety of materials.

Have a great weekend!

Mistymount those stone sculpures are amazing, The idea of "gravity glue" makes perfect sense to me- I am reading and learning about String Theory at the momnet ( cosmology/ quantum physics)- gravity glue is an actual thing.

VioletCharlotte I am glad you are feeling a bit brighter and things improving with your son. As we progress there will be little backward steps along the way, don't worry about them, it's part of the process.

THanks for the link blanktimes I am tempted to try this out myself.
I have a collection of stones in my garden, I always come home from walks with my pockets bulging!
