A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

I’m loving it here. It’s -15 and sunny. It really feels like winter too which I haven’t felt this year. Autumn sort of merged into spring back home.

DP is out skiing but I rather felt like a morning in the pool and steam room. Definitely self care!

Hope everyone has a lovely day. I don’t know if there is snow at home, if there is I hope it’s there to go home to.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/01/2019 11:20

Elphame - unless the temperature drops significantly it is unlikely. We woke to nearly 3 inches of snow. It has melted down to about an inch and half, and the ground is warm enough to consider shovelling the snow off the drive without creating an ice rink. That said we are expecting more snow according to the met office so anything is possible.

speakout · 30/01/2019 11:30

Morning all.

Bright sunshine here too- no snow though.

yasmincrone so interesting to hear what you say regarding the flow, changing energies and the shift.
I feel this too.

I am a type of counsellor, I have been fir 18 years and worked with many women.
Some of the most profound moments is when I feel this shift, and feel that the person I am working with feels it too.
My work is partly talking, but often just sitting with women showing them how to relax and trust themselves.
I do touch them a little, but often just a hand on the shoulder or a gentle tap on the elbow.
When it works it is amazing, seeing women tap into the unconcious flow and find the eons of time and millions of women who have found that sacred space. To see them finding empowerment is a priviledge
It's part time counselling work I do, one to one and I facilitate a group once a month. I used to do a lot more, but things move and change.
I am lucky because it meshes well with my scientific background, work as a witch and my feminist thinking!

speakout What a wonderful description- I love it how you can always make sense of my ramblings- it’s lovely to feel heard and understood.

It’s an amazing and powerful feeling when it happens isn’t it- I’ve really enjoyed trusting and being guided more by this flow as time goes on. Interestingly my work seems to be much more with men these days. I think there’s a very different feel to masculine energy and it’s interesting to see how it responds to and will be guided by the feminine if the feminine is strong and confident.

Having said that I absolutely love women’s work for exactly this reason:

When it works it is amazing, seeing women tap into the unconcious flow and find the eons of time and millions of women who have found that sacred space

In fact I’ve been thinking of setting up a new women’s group for a while now and your description has made me tingle and reminds me why I really should get on with it! Thank you 🙏

No snow here either- the weather here is just as you describe Violet

Hills a picture of the snow would be amazing if you remember and it hasn’t all melted!

Elphame that sounds like absolute bliss. A pool and a steam room are two of my favourite places to be

Lapetus I saw this and thought about the staged clearing work we were talking about

A calmer day here today. Still lots to be done but I have the luxury of going at my own pace. I’m hoping to find time to work on my ice candle holder too- having a few technical issues with the space in the centre!

I’ve also got the urge for some big clearing like you speakout it does feel perfect for Imbolc. That feeling of wanting to get to the bottom of things, I’ll have to see if I can carve out the time to get some done

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

This was from my journey home, taken from a car park mid way in the journey. I suck at adulting and will not be leaving the house until my trousers are dry (will be another hour). Will take another later if there is any snow left.

Any Witches Here? Part 6
TooManyPaws · 30/01/2019 12:14

I'm feeling a bit discombobulated this morning thanks to a dream. I dreamed that I was in some room with my parents (who are both dead) and my mother and I were sorting out clothes in a wardrobe. My father joined in with all the critical things he used to say about me. Then some visitors came and some music was put on only it was a tape of me confessing all the terrible things that I had done in the past, sleeping around with anyone who could make me feel lovable and attractive for a moment despite my ugliness. Then I ran away to a pub. I was talking to three blokes who were in a singing group when my parents turned up. My father was in his sulking, not talking mood instead of the funny, pleasant bloke that he appeared in public. I eventually ran away from the criticism again but hung around till the three blokes left and asked how I could contact them to talk further. They turned out to be RC priests - obviously something to do with the "confessions".

It's left me a little sensitive this morning, as though a layer of skin is missing and must have some meaning as to how I'm working through my internalised critic.

Wow that is severe weather- very beautiful though.

Me too speakout Grin

Thank you Hills! 💜

Oh Paws that’s rough. I know exactly what you mean with the feeling of a layer being removed. I hope you can tell your inner critic to do one- comments neither appropriate or necessary thank you.

You’re a strong woman who’s had a difficult time in the past- I hope when you feel up to it you can provide some comfort and forgiveness to your younger self.
With all that criticism it’s no wonder she was seeking approval- very understandable.

I found my visit to my younger self to provide comfort and understanding recently very powerful. I was also pleasantly surprised that she had a thing or two to show me- she was feisty and optimistic with a lot of drive. I’d forgotten that in amongst the image I had of her ‘making bad choices’ it was helpful to be reminded.

I hope you can experience something similar with your younger self who was doing the best she could with what she had. The very fact that she was seeking approval shows she wasn’t going to just accept what she was being told. A lot of fight in that I’d say. Take care of you today x

Loyaultemelie · 30/01/2019 13:00

Hills wow, my dds would love to be where you are this morning! We have bright sunshine and no signs of snow.
Toomanypaws dreams have a way of unsettling I was having a recurring one last week and YashmisCrone and Lapetus were both really helpful and pointed me in the right direction for some great research I also followed up from this and did a ritual thanking my Nanny (the person in the dream who also was a known wise woman when alive) thanking her for her guidance and help and asking her to continue to guide me and protect dd2 (health issues).

VioletCharlotte · 30/01/2019 13:01

Wow Hills look at all that snow! It's very pretty, but I can imagine it's making life difficult for those who have no choice but to be out and about.

Speakout and Yashmis counselling sounds the perfect role for you. You're both so intuitive and have a wonderful way of explaining things, looking at things from an alternative perspective. It must be so rewarding to be able to really help people and watch them change their lives.

Paws your dream sounds very unsettling, sending positive energy your way.

VioletCharlotte

THank you for your kind words.

How is your dog today?

TooManyPaws What a horrible dream. There have been some thoughtful posts here about showing love and care for your younger self.
I just saw this quote from Jeanette Winterson and wanted to share it:
"I have noticed that when all the lights are on, people tend to talk about what they are doing - their outer lives. Sitting round in candlelight or firelight, people start to talk about how they are feeling - their inner lives. They speak subjectively, they argue less, there are longer pauses.
To sit alone without any electric light is curiously creative. I have my best ideas at dawn or at nightfall, but not if I switch on the lights - then I start thinking about projects, deadlines, demands and the shadows and shapes of the house become objects, not suggestions, things that need to be done, not a background to thought."

YashmisCrone · 30/01/2019 13:53

Thank you Violet 💜

Kizzy what a wonderful quote- so true! I love Jeanette Winterson. Thank you for sharing that 🙏

He's doing ok thank you. He's obviously uncomfortable as he's much quieter than normal, but he's enjoying all the attention and cuddles from me and the DC. He's going in for the op on Friday.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/01/2019 19:30

Snow and the helebores.... By the time I took the picture at 1:30pm most of the snow had melted. What is left was wet, soggy and claggy. By 4:30pm it was freezing solid. Still it looked pretty whilst it lasted. Grin

Loved the crunching sound from walking in the snow today. the slushy stuff was a bit unpleasent, but tbf i do need a new pair of trainers. And a pair of winter boots would not be a bad thing. Walking boots count as winter boots yes?

YashmisCrone · 30/01/2019 20:13

Aaw Hills thank for sharing your snow- love the thought of crunching through it Smile and yes, I think walking boots definitely count as winter boots! I had a pair from Aldi that lasted years, I was sad when they finally fell apart.

Good morning my magical friends.

A very chilly minus 9 here this morning, and the most beautiful crescent waning moon in a deep turquoise sky just outside my bedroom window.

I hope you all find a sprinkling of magic in your lives today.

VioletCharlotte · 31/01/2019 08:55

Speakout I came here to post the same 😊 Such a beautiful morning. It was really lovely, driving into work this morning, watching the sun rise over the frost covered trees and fields.

I would love to be going for a walk, but I'm now in the office unfortunately! At least it's warm though, and I have coffee ☕️

Hope you all have a great day

Loyaultemelie · 31/01/2019 10:29

Good morning all, yes it is indeed a magical feeling morning today. Also I finally have 2 happy daughters (seemingly also one happy cat. Who knew bathcats were also snow cats?!)

Oh what lovely descriptions of our magical winter! Thank you for sharing- it’s cold and rainy here. I hope it stops- I wanted to use my Imbolc ice candle holder outside when it’s time..For now I’m ploughing through a mountain of paperwork- my least favourite place to be!

Love the pictures Loyaultemelie and the brave snowcat! 😍

Hope everyone’s having a good day and blessed with some magic amongst the mundane Smile

speakout · 31/01/2019 15:10

Shadows are growing longer even though it's only 3pm.

Still below zero here- I hope it keeps that way as I have a bucket sized ice cande holder for imbolc freezing in my garden.

Elphame · 31/01/2019 15:35

Some lovely photos. I’ve been enjoying the magical light out here. Sun, mist and cloud are all combining to create some really special moments. Faces in the mountains and ravens soaring overhead.

I’m even getting some lesson planning done for next week taking the mountains for inspiration

Sokere · 31/01/2019 16:08

Sounds wonderful Elphame. A long time since I visited the Alps. Just beautiful.

I hope his op goes well tomorrow VioletCharlotte. As another animal mummy, I know how hard this is for you.

I've been encouraged by Pinterest (I think, or Instagram) to categorize my tarot readings. So, today I began with body, mind, family and so on. Had very clear readings but just got too tired to continue with any further categories but I found it really useful.

Loving all your snow photos too!

Beautiful package received from @FilledSoda today.

I will use these cards in spellwork

What an amazing bunch of women supporting women we have gathered here

Thanks FS ❤️
