Not much snow here for which I am grateful as I have some mobility issues. I like looking at it though. It's pretty.

YashmisCrone · 23/01/2019 13:43

Lapetus it’s such a lovely comfort food- (perfect with your home made bread!) I’ve been eating it a lot recently! I really like this one

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sweet-potato-dhal-curried-vegetables

Barton yes it’s lovely to look at but not always helpful to have to go about your day in is it. I’m hoping someone will share some snow pictures so I can enjoy it vicariously!

Skyejuly · 23/01/2019 13:44

That looks lovely!

YashmisCrone · 23/01/2019 13:46

It is Skye, freezes well too.

I can tell I need grounding, I’m also very easily and happily distracted today!

Frostyapples · 23/01/2019 16:58

Loving these posts - a real reminder that I need to live more simply and slowly!! My daughter is poorly this week so I have been at home looking after her and realised how much I Rush everything! Although not good that she is ill it has been nice to be sofa buddies and watch a few films. I defined need to be more mindful in my cooking and eating and less chuck anything quick in a pan. Although I always cook from scratch and never ready meals I am always tired and rushing so don't perhaps take as much time as I should.

speakout · 23/01/2019 19:58

A rushed day here too - loads of work on right now, and family needing lots of me.
But everyone happy- so the load dosen't feel too heavy.
Just managed to sit down and have my first cup of peppermint tea of the day, still have a few things to finish off before bedtime.

Evening everyone, just catching up on all the posts. I've had a horrendously busy day and this thread feels like such a comforting place to come to and relax a bit.

We've haven't got any snow here, although it is freezing cold. I don't think there's any forecast for whee I live. It's a bit of a relief to be honest. I love snow but haven't for time for it this week, I've got too much driving to do!

Hope you all enjoy your evening.

KizzyWayfarer · 23/01/2019 21:17

Yashmis the recipe is actually for South Indian sambar and had an ingredients list that was why I went to the specialist spice shop! The ingredient that definitely couldn’t be left out is tamarind but otherwise you could adapt it. If you do it according to the recipe there are two fiddly bits of prep - dissolving the tamarind block in water, and dry frying spices to make spice powder (actually quite fun). Both of these you can keep to use again.
It is very tasty... If you want the recipe I can DM you rather than taking over the thread (it’s not online). I think the recipe you posted may be more what Lapetus is looking for.

Loyaultemelie · 23/01/2019 21:55

Evening all coming back to join you with a green tea (healthy) and some ferrero rocher (not healthy!) to cheer me up after all this paperwork. My non lap girl cat has decided she is now a lap cat I think it must be because of the cold but I'm not complaining.
YashmisCrone that recipe sounds lovely I'm going to try that this weekend when I have more time and hopefully squeeze in some outdoor time too.

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2019 02:27

A very odd evening here tonight. Not in a bad way but in a hmm did that really happen way. Only just heading to bed, it is not going to enable me to feel all bright and perky tomo.

Random visions. How do we feel about them?

speakout · 24/01/2019 07:00

Good morning witchy friends.

Another bitterly cold morning.
The frost hasn't lifted for days here and has built up to such a thickness that it looks like snow, everything is white.

A busy day here agiain, hopefully not as busy as yesterday, maybe get some free time this weekend.

HillsBesideTheSea

What type of "random visions?

I do get a lot of "snapshots " of the used past, as I walk through old buildings or areas that were used by people in the past. I can see into lives, and hear voices, chatter etc.

OP posts:
HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2019 08:11

parallel universe/alternate reality/future kinda things

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2019 08:40

Going to be honest not really sure how to describe it. It is all just a bit odd.

YashmisCrone · 24/01/2019 09:04

Good morning,

Really busy here too this week. There’s quite a strong energy around since the full moon eclipse I think. I’m seeing a lot of deepest darkest feelings/experiences bubble to the surface- like people are being faced with ‘the root of it’ where this may previously been buried/hidden. My own energy is intense and strong, followed by mini ‘burn out’ type experiences. Im needing to watch how I come across to people in my personal life. I think I can be a bit much if I don’t watch it atm. Interesting.

Kizzy I’d love that, thank you Smile

I don’t have actual visions. I ‘see’ things in my mind’s eye or will have a word of phrase come to me as if from nowhere.

Those sound like powerful experiences Hills is it overwhelming/scary? I’m hoping someone with more knowledge than me on what’s going on will be able to shed some light on the matter for you. Hope you were able to get a bit of rest to give you some energy to get through the day.

Wishing everyone a good day

Loyaultemelie · 24/01/2019 09:34

Good morning everyone. Wet and cold here so all the whiteness has gone. Another super busy one here too after a night of the same dream.
Hills sounds very intense how are you feeling this morning?

YashmisCrone · 24/01/2019 09:47

Don’t know how helpful this is Loya but I quite like what I think is a Jungian (?) slant on dream interpretation. So everyone in your dream represents you- or a part of you. If you’re arguing with someone there’s an inner conflict- the characters involved will depict which parts of you. sex dreams with someone you’d never do that with IRL are about wanting to integrate a trait you see in that person into your own self etc. Buildings represent the self too IIRC- so a basement would be the unconscious, a loft your higher self etc. I’m probably not explaining it very well but might be worth reading up on if that resonates with you at all.

I find it useful to notice what feelings I’m left with after a dream and if there’s any message in that for me. Like a feeling I’ve buried that I’m now ready to deal with maybe.

I like looking at correspondences- recurring colours, animals, numbers and what they mean. Or the elements- for me water always represents emotion- still, clear, raging, unsettled etc. I’m not sure if that’s jungian or something I’ve read somewhere else that’s stuck with me.

I know there’s so many theories on dream interpretation- those are just some that resonate with me.

GrumpyOldMare · 24/01/2019 09:50

Morning all. Just popping in to plonk my cushion by the fire for later. Need to pop out to get food for the cats - they think they're starved and neglected! I might take the long way round and have a nice walk at the same time (but don't tell Him and Her!)

A fresh and slightly less frosty morning than yesterday. Once back from the shops,I plan to do nothing but go through my Book of Shadows, and start to reread a couple of books by Tylluan Penry as I seem to have come to a bit of a stale patch in my journey and her writing always gets me back on track.

BartonHollow · 24/01/2019 12:34

Morning/Afternoon

Livid from an earlier experience on the bus

A gentleman with immediately obvious learning difficulties was travelling on the bus

He was very enthusiastic about buses in general and :

  1. Didn't know he was being loud and annoying and couldn't help it

  2. was harmless

A woman was engaging with him and seemed like a nice and friendly person

As soon as he got off the bus she and another woman scorned him and called him a looney, and mocked him.

I hope they both wake up tomorrow covered in boils and their own piss.

I'm utterly riled about it still

VioletCharlotte · 24/01/2019 12:36

Hello all, popping in very quickly as it's another busy day for me. Such a beautiful, cold and frosty day here. The sky was amazing on the way to work, pink, fluffy clouds, then the most gorgeous sunrise.

Loyaultemelie · 24/01/2019 12:55

YashmisCrone thank you I will do some reading that's really helpful! It's a boat (ship?) but a really nice one and at one table are my Nanny and great aunt and my dad (the only one actually still living in rl) and the rest of my family including Dh and dds at another table. I sit with Nanny and GA but the others keep calling me away saying food is ready and I don't want to move because I know it's the only chance to spend time with them "living again" then a waiter asks me to move and I wake up really upset
Barton how cruel!

speakout · 24/01/2019 14:05

BartonHollow

How awful.

In such circumstances I make my feelings known.
Loudly.

OP posts:
BartonHollow · 24/01/2019 14:09

I wanted to speak but they were close enough to be heard but not close enough to be spoken to, and once I realised what they were saying I was getting off

She didn't need to keep engaging him if she didn't want to. She was busy being "an outwardly nice person" but joined in with nastiness and face pulling the second someone else calling him "a looney" gave her permission to.

Shameful.

Lapetus · 24/01/2019 14:16

YashmisCrone Thank you so much for the dhal recipe, DH made it last night and it was delicious, we had the rest of it for lunch today.

Hills Hope things have settled down.

Not the same thing but I used to get intense premonitions when I was in my 20s, like day dreams that panned out exactly half an hour or so later. I still get them occasionally but not as clear and more like a "mind's eye" kind of thing like Yashmis was saying. I have a few other weird things too.

Barton That is horrible, I will join you in hoping they awake with more than they went to sleep with.

speakout · 24/01/2019 14:37

BartonHollow

Unfortunately I think a lot of people are like that.

Outwardly friendly but the minute you are gone then you are spoken about in a disparaging way.

I make a point of disenagaing from anyone who speaks poorly of others.

Hard to do when you are on a bus! But in my own circles I have no time for such negativity.
