Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

Such a wild stormy day here- been very dark all day.
Lots of candles burning today, and heating full on!

Very stormy here too

Winds of change perhaps

Sokere · 28/11/2018 16:34

@Elphame I love a good pub crawl, especially at Christmas and preferably in some ancient city.

I did a good meditation today after my morning classes. I don't really connect very well with the Buddhists at the centre, but they don't mind what religion you are and anyone is welcome to join a meditation class. Feel centred so am hoping it will last for the rest of the week.

Yes.. been very dark all day. Can feel the storms in the air.

Elphame · 28/11/2018 16:53

It's dark and stormy here. I can hear the farmer's barn rattling in the wind.

I haven't put a toe out of doors today - nor has the cat. I have put away a few herb jars but that's about it.

Haha Sokere - we did manage a bit of witchiness which included a bit of totally subversive mischief but it was mainly an attempt to find a new meeting venue.

DoubleNegativePanda · 28/11/2018 16:59

Hi all, glad to be back with you (just in time for the thread to end).

I'm kind of down. My dd is sad because she's going to be with her uber-christian dad for Yule and won't get to participate in any of the witchy yule things my sister and I will be doing. I feel sad for her.

Plus yesterday her dad's new wife called the dental office I work in, got me on the phone and asked to schedule a cleaning appointment which is weird in itself. I would pointedly avoid the ex-wife's office if I had the option but whatever. During the conversation I learned that he's put his wife on his insurance plan (we are in the US so no NHS) but has for the last five years refused to insure our child. I'm so angry. I have to keep having conversations with myself about how it really wouldn't be constructive to curse the bastard. Rule of three. Rule of three. Deep Breath.

What would thoughts be on a reflection charm? Fling all his unpleasantness back onto him.

YashmisCrone · 28/11/2018 17:20

Hello Panda

Sorry to hear what a tough time you’ve been having. You have my empathy. I can relate to some of what you’re going through. I agree that a reflection charm sounds like a good idea, perhaps also some protection for you, and of course lots of self care. I like a salt bath to wash it all away.. I hope you have some time to enjoy some of the season with your DD. Sending you love.

Sokere I used to go to the local Buddhist centre here for lunchtime meditation. I loved it.

Elphame I love to hear of your adventures, they always make me smile.

Wild and dark here all day too. I’m glad to be home with candles lit. Stay safe and warm all

Elphame · 28/11/2018 17:40

Panda Well the rule of three is only really applicable to Wiccans and even then it's doubtful it was part of the original doctrine. My own trad teaches "Do what is necessary and pay the coin". We do believe in consequences but accept those as the price of doing something. Just as it does in mundane life - if someone was attacking my child I'd have no hesitation in doing whatever I had to to protect them. I may be punished by the justice system as a result but so be it.

A reflective working seems an excellent idea - if they are nice they get nice things back . if they;re not then they get there own nastiness back. Sounds perfect.

speakout · 28/11/2018 17:53

I agree with Elphame , panda.

In such circumstances I would do a " return to sender" spell. One that acts like a shield or a mirror, simply bouncing back negative energy from whence it came.

Evening all, popping in to say hello. What a horrible day! I've spent hours stuck on the motorway in the traffic and the rain going to and from work. I hate commuting in this weather.

I'm going to try and cheer myself up this evening with candles and snuggling down with a good book. Any recommendations welcome Smile

Sokere your meditation class sounds lovely. Just what's needed at this busy time of year.

Panda sorry you're having a tough time.

Speakout thank you for the link to the new thread. Here's to the next 1000 posts of witchy chat 🧙‍♀️

sockportal · 28/11/2018 20:11

I'm taking time for some self care this evening. Tomorrow I start my new job and I'm seeing it as a fresh start. I'm going to have an Epsom salt bath and light candle to wash away the past couple of years.

Two years ago my life fell apart in a spectacular way. I had just moved into my new house which had been delayed and delayed and it wasn't fit for us to move into. I then was part of a constructive dismissal at a job I loved, all this resulted in me having a missed miscarriage.

Since then I have a beautiful baby girl, cut out some negative people from my life, made some new friends and embraced my spiritual side.

I'm taking the lovely things from the last year forward into my new start. I've learnt a lot about myself along the way. The biggest lesson I've learnt is to be grateful and thankful for what is happening day to day instead of being envious of other people.
