Thank-you Speakout* you're so kind. It's a very special evening.
Hi Owls, is there a different room you could use where no-one else thinks they "need" to be? They are trampling all over your boundaries. Did they really need to be in the same space as you at that time - no, they just didn't listen. Maybe a chat about it would help, maybe not, you know your own living circumstances better than anyone and what you're prepared to tolerate or not and that plays a large part in finding a happy solution.
You can enforce your boundaries or you can use a different area in the house where you will not be disturbed, you can go and sit in the car, the garage, the garden, drive to a quiet area, or go wherever you feel comfortable and won't be disturbed.
Mawkish, if you're a bit twitchy about using anything, have a break until you're comfortable with it. In some cases I'd say feel the fear and do it anyway because that's a great way to learn, but in your circumstances right now, I'd say you've enough on your plate trying to deal with your ordinary level of anxiety without adding to it.
Put the cards to one side until you're more settled in yourself and you want to use them because you're interested and sure that's what you want to do, rather than hesitant. There's no time limit on learning, it's not a race, you'll learn the most when you're engaged with the subject and enthusiastic about it.
