Hello, I hope it's okay to post. I found this thread by browsing on the philosophy/religion topic. I was hoping to ask for some direction on where I can begin, as a complete newbie, looking into the history and practices of your beliefs and learning ways I can begin to connect.

I am not religious and don't consider myself to be "woo" however I have always been open to the idea that there is more to this world than can be seen or quantified and I feel at the moment that I am ready to start exploring this and would love to find out more.

If anyone could recommend any books or websites that they think would be a good starting point I would really appreciate it, thank you

Thank you so much for the welcome. I have been reading back over this thread and have found it very emotional! At the risk of sounding silly it felt like a lot of the posts "spoke" to me and connected. It is also such a lovely warm and supportive place, thank you.

I am a questioner at heart and always want to know the "why" of a thing which is why I was asking for ideas on books on the history etc. I would also love to learn more about some simple blessings and spells (that seems really weird to say) but for whatever reason, now feels like the right time to start exploring this side of me which I feel has always been there, I just haven't paid attention to. Hope that makes sense!
I look forward to going through the previous threads when I have more time to devote to them.

I am so excited to start exploring although I feel a little overwhelmed at knowing where to start! Reading back through the previous threads will be a good start. I am also frantically searching Amazon for books.

My birthday is midwinter's day, I have known from being a child the importance of Yule and the Winter's solstice and love my connection to this. I have always been fascinated with ancient cultures and their understanding of the earth and their spirituality. Thank you again for your acceptance.

Please don't bash the women on this thread for their beliefs. I don't bash women here or elsewhere. I asked one straightforward question about the dangers of witchcraft as you did yourself in a previous post. I think it's a dangerous road to go down not being able to question religion. Of course the answers might not be forthcoming but that shouldn't stop the questioning in the first place.

Has anyone done any of the centre of excellence online courses or downloaded any of their ebooks? I've hear really good things about them. I've just downloaded the Akashic Records ebook to listen to on my commute. There's so may to choose from, I was like a kid in a sweet shop

After a busy day I am just about to visit the Post Office- I can't believe it's starting to get dark already!

I don't think I have felt so much calm and optimism at the start of the winter season.

It is in part due to meeting and making friends with all the lovely women on this thread.

Well success on the Patchouli leaves - I also need turmeric, cloves, cinnamon and allspice. It seems odd not to have a resin and a woody element in it but I'll give it a go.
