Owls lots of folk seem to be in a state of upheaval lately. That's a great list! Work through it by whatever you are drawn to the most at any particular time. If I were you, I'd have a go at one thing at a time, then shout for recommendations for the next one. I could rec several things on your list, but you'd end up with so many bits of knowledge of this and bits of knowledge of that, it would be hard to see any overall progress on your path as it would be so fragmented.

Hills and Owls too as you mentioned tree magic.

Simon and Sue Lilly's website, this is the link to their Tree trilogy,

I have Tree, Essence Spirit and Teacher, it resonates with me.

They do a lot more interesting things too Halloween Smile

@owlshooting It can feel so overwhelming, so I understand how difficult it is to find your own, personal way. I find I need to keep things very small, manageable or I know I'll just run away from it. I'm discovering all the time. I find I like symbols, earth, herbs, candle magic. I can't deal with any religious/ritual type aspects or group work as my mind just rejects that atm. I like being solitary. I like trance work and use music, art a lot to achieve that.

I'm drawn to healing but am not ready yet. I'm still struggling to understand so many past experiences and can't yet acknowledge that it could have been me that brought it about. I find that so difficult that I've stopped trying to force myself to believe. I just accept 'stuff' happened that I can't explain.

I've downloaded some autobiographies by witches because personal accounts interest me. If I find they are any good, I can let you have the titles.

GruciusMalfoy · 05/11/2018 12:51

@elphame, your post about how you work with the moon is really interesting. I wouldn't have naturally thought about the waxing/waning powers. I find myself subconsciously looking forward to the full moon. But I can now sort of see why you wouldn't necessarily always do your work on that day/night.

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 05/11/2018 21:03

Thanks elphame

Quietly enjoying the chat and wisdom tonight, but after the day recently when a few people cut themselves by accident, I burned my finger quite badly today. Anyone else have a mishap with heat or fire? 🔥

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 05/11/2018 21:04

It wasn't a firework, it was a snap pot of baked beans.

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/11/2018 21:58

I managed to pour hot water over my hand midnight but it is an almost daily occurrence for me so I am not reading much into it. Tiredness, pain and hot water bottles are both a good and a bad combination for me.

Thank you for the recommendation blank

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/11/2018 21:59

Hope you are not too badly hurt midnight

BlankTimes · 05/11/2018 22:49

Hills have you tried the microwaveable hot water bottles? We found the gel sachet ones split after not many uses, but the pet ones which are in a solid disc shape take 7 mins to heat up and stay warm for hours.

Anyone familiar with Cassandra Latham-Jones? I've just read her book "The Village Witch : Life as a Village Wisewoman." I enjoyed it and found her writing on her early life so moving. It made me want to go to Cornwall too. Apparently she is quite famous as a witch in the Pagan circles? Her fame as a healer seems to have spread too.

...Hope you are okay Hills? Loved reading your posts on tree magic.

TooManyPaws · 05/11/2018 23:13

Cassandra is lovely. And she was the first person to get the Inland Revenue to accept her profession as Village Witch!

Bellecose2 · 05/11/2018 23:19

@TooManyPaws... Yes, she talks about that in her book. If I lived nearer, I would try to visit her for healing.

Have you met her through your Pagan circle Paws?

TooManyPaws · 05/11/2018 23:25

Bellecose2
Yes, at a conference in London some years back. We also know a lot of people in common. It's a bit like the game Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon - once you get involved in the witchy network, there's all sorts of connections all over the place! 😂

Bellecose2 · 06/11/2018 00:16

Yes I can imagine it's a lively, network to be part of. I will definitely read more of her books. I want to read more of Vivianne Crowley too.

@Midnight.. I'm so sorry, I forgot to add you to my earlier post. I hope you are okay and healing. Flowers

Morning witch friends.

It's cool misty start to the day here, very atmospheric, ethereal.

Wishing you all a magical day.

Morning Smile

Sounds like a magical morning where you are speakout

The season has certainly changed here. I’m enjoying the fresh, cold bite of air as I start the day although I expect it’s mild here in the south compared to where you are!

I’m enjoying listening to everyone’s stories around the aga in the cold, dark evenings. My focus has needed to be very practical recently so it’s good to come home and check in to the magic kitchen Smile

Blessed be all

owlshooting · 06/11/2018 08:51

Never heard of Cassandra LJ. I will look for the book. Which part of Cornwall does she live in, does anyone know?

Bellecose, i would love to hear about the autobiographies you are reading.

Sending healing energy to all those who are struggling, with cut fingers and anything else!

owlshooting · 06/11/2018 08:53

Blank - loving the tree links! I absolutely love trees.

queenrollo · 06/11/2018 09:17

The week lots of you got cuts I had a deep papercut type wound on a finger, I don't remember doing it.

This week I have burned the knuckle at the base of my thumb quite badly on the Rayburn shelf.

VioletCharlotte · 06/11/2018 09:31

Morning all.** It sounds like a magical morning where some of you are. Not so much here, I'm waiting to go into the dentist for a filling

The Cassandra Latham- Jones book sounds interesting. I know Cornwall quite well so I think I'd enjoy it.

Hope everyone who had burnt themselves is ok. Sending healing your way 🙏

Bellecose2 · 06/11/2018 10:27

Morning everyone, hope your DD is recovering speakout?

I have a non-witchy question that I'd like to ask advice for if that's okay? How do you deal with people asking to 'borrow' money? I'm not mean and I have always helped people in emergencies but it's dragging me down.

In addition, I am far from rich and they never pay it back. I also have a genetic condition that may require a lot of personal care in the years to come... but, I don't want to be forced to reveal that - not sure it would stop them asking in any event!

On a personal level, I can switch between being super passive to super aggressive. What I find difficult is to reach that middle ground of assertive control ( I don't want to banish them from my life so really do not want to unleash my anger on them)

Any advice/experiences would be appreciated.

Ps Owls... I will go back to the book. It's a village but can't remember the name. Her book was one of the autobiographies I mentioned. I haven't fully downloaded the other ones yet but will let you know. Wicca on line resources is a really good reference point I found (I'm not Wiccan or Pagan btw but I love reading both)

Ps.. Actually, I am looking for a traditional witchcraft biography if anyone has any recommendations.

In haste, busy morning so very brief.

Try saying, No, I don't have that. Practise, say it in front of a mirror. No. No. No. Say it until you can say it with confidence. Try these or if you find something that suits you better, practise that.

No, you'll have to ask someone else.
No, go and ask the bank.
I've already said no, don't ask me again.
Can you get a temp xmas job to earn that amount?

It's no-one's business how much money you have and they have no right to assume you want to give them any or cover up their inadequate management of their own.
Never lend anything unless you would be happy to give it as a gift.

Bellecose2 · 06/11/2018 11:06

Thank you, I will try that

queenrollo · 06/11/2018 11:16

BlankTImes

The word 'no'....it is small and yet it carries great weight. I used to say 'yes' far too often when my heart (and head!) was shouting 'no' at me.
I always felt I needed to explain myself if I did manage to say no.
Then I had a realisation that I don't have to explain myself to anyone.
It is really not easy to journey the path to calm assertiveness, but it has been one of my most worthwhile journeys.

If you do not want to loan the money then you can just say 'no, I can't do that for you'......you don't have to say why you can't. You can't because you don't want to, but they can think to themselves you can't because you don't have the funds.

queenrollo · 06/11/2018 11:17

sorry, of course that should be addressed to Bellecose2 and NOT BlankTimes
My husband interupted me and I lost my concentration.

ARoomSomewhere · 06/11/2018 11:20

I posted on here about 8 weeks ago.
I bought my first set of Tarot and used them over a few days but i have misplaced part of them and cannot get back to where i have left them today?
I wanted to outline my situation and a decision i have to make by 3pm today and ask for advice. Would that be okay please?
