A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

Thank you.... and apologies to everyone for so many crossed posts. I haven't had much alone time which makes me hyper. Reading back through the posts I missed I can see I repeated questions already asked and patiently answered .

Time to slow it down I feel.

ARoomSomewhere · 03/09/2018 13:30

GOOD LUCK for tomorrow @sockportal

I also have an interview tomorrow - 1st one in 20 years.
Plus waiting to hear about school places.

Very hard to keep breathing.

Lacypants · 03/09/2018 14:35

Thank you all for the energy, I have felt slightly better the last couple of days. I've done some sorting and throwing out of lots of old things in my children's rooms, and just moving the clutter and old neglected toys out of the house has lifted my spirits and a lot of the gloom off the house. They go back to school tomorrow so im going to continue going through the house removing all the clutter that just traps negativity.
Is it just me that feels most like "spring" cleaning in late summer/autumn?

FitzsFool · 03/09/2018 16:09

Lacypants I feel that way about clearing and cluttering this time of year too. Perhaps it’s because the first hints of colder, darker days ahead brings attention back to the home. It creates a sort of ‘nesting’ instinct, the desire to make home a safe, cosy place to retreat to when the wind and rain is crashing around outside. Like animals preparing for hibernation.

I find decluttering really does seem to shift stagnant energy. I aspire to have a home that reflects me and my family and the way we live. Therefore decluttering for me is removing anything that is no longer relevant. It brings the things that are relevant so much more into focus.

Perhaps Marie Kondo is a witch? Wink

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 17:48

Maybe she is?! Grin Marie Kondo is my hero. I'm still a bit of a treasure hoarder, but she helped me to sort & organise stuff I was drowning in.

KizzyWayfarer · 03/09/2018 18:28

I hope the dissertation finishing / job interviews went well.
I am just one week away from having both children in school full time for the first time, and am very excited by having some time to properly clean and declutter for the first time in years!

KizzyWayfarer · 03/09/2018 18:29

Just to be clear, it’s not that I haven’t cleaned and tidied at all in years but it’s always felt like running up a down escalator!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 03/09/2018 19:12

Not the beginning of the week I expected.

DH away til Friday, first day back at work, called to childminders before I’d even got as far as lunchtime as my littlest was poorly. 3 hours in the walk in centre later all is well and hopefully he’ll be better soon. I’m hoping they go to bed ok for me tonight so I can find 5 minutes for myself before I crash!

Good luck with everyone’s trials and tests coming up this week. We can do this!!

JW1226 · 03/09/2018 19:41

Evening all ,

I am wondering are there many kinds of witches ? If so how do I find what type I am ? I'd love to learn more and I need a positive mindset as I've been feeling very low lately.

Thankyou for listening I hope you are all well xx

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 19:58

Welcome @JW1226 Flowers I'll make you a brew. Sorry to hear you're feeling low.

Have you read upthread? Think there were a few suggestions there about positivity and energy. I always need reminding of this, so good question. No certain ideas about types of witches yet. Still fairly early on my path for me.

I love it as the coven expands and more and more of us gather around the warmth, exploring ourselves and sharing gentle healing thoughts and queries.

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 20:01

My question is, if I remain housebound and mainly bedbound for another Autumn/Winter, what witchedy plants could I get in to put on my windowsill that would survive? I have generic houseplants about as I need the energy and to watch growing life, but wondering about something different. Any clues?

VioletCharlotte · 03/09/2018 20:04

Hope everyone's had a good day?
@sockportal I hope the interview went well?
I've got a horrible cold, which is really annoying as I've got such a busy week. I'm sipping lemon and ginger with honey which is helping a little bit. It's comforting if nothing else.

Ittakestwo · 03/09/2018 20:16

@EnchantersNightshade I’m obsessed with African Violets apparently the provide protection and help with spirituality

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 03/09/2018 20:20

Hi @EnchantersNightshade good to see that you are feeling well enough to join us at the fire this evening.

Have you considered rosemary or lavender plants on your window sill? I have both in my garden. I love the smell of rosemary and it’s such a great plant to grow.

You can get small kitchen windowsill sets of three small herb planters that sit on a tray. Would one of those be of interest?

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 20:23

Ooh thank you @Ittakestwo I didn't know that!

Where is a good source for swotting up on witchedy plants?

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 20:28

Ooh another! Thank you @GeeIneverthoughtofthat You've reminded me a friend sent a beautiful lavender plant one year, might organise another! It eventually had to be planted out though. Same with the rosemary I tried the year before.

Neither of them seemed that happy growing inside, but maybe it was because of the aspect/lack of care Grin

sockportal · 03/09/2018 20:29

Hi ladies, thank you for your well wishes. I'm sorry to report that I didn't get the job. In a way it's come as a bit of a relief as I thought the job was underpaid for what they were expecting. I'm really hoping I find a job soon!

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 03/09/2018 20:35

Mint is another good one too @EnchantersNightshade.

It grows like mad and you can make fresh mint tea as well which can be very refreshing.

Sorry to hear your news @sockportal but these things have a strange way of working out for the best.

EnchantersNightshade · 03/09/2018 20:42

Mint! Nice. I caught the window sill basil plant on the curtain this week and the scent was joyous! Thank you all so much. It's been lovely to join you all round the fire this evening Brew I have a rosy glow!

ARoomSomewhere · 03/09/2018 21:06

sorry to hear that sockportal but it sounds like you might have felt underewarded in that role?

I bought a pack of Tarot cards. The lovely 'everyday witch' ones

I'd like to look at them before bed. Can i just flick through them or should i pull one or more out?

ARoomSomewhere · 03/09/2018 21:07

under rewarded even...

VioletCharlotte · 03/09/2018 21:16

That's a shame @sockportal, but sounds like it's for the best. Hopefully something better is just round the corner.

KizzyWayfarer · 03/09/2018 21:23

Hope your little one is better soon ThatsNotEvenAWord

Ittakestwo · 03/09/2018 21:53

Anyone going to talk me out of introducing this bundle of fur into my home
