Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

Morning all!

Some gardening for me today - have some herbs to nurture and the beds look rather overgrown. There is also lavender to harvest.

Have the beginnings of marmalade bubbling on the stove.

A lovely sunny but not too hot day - wonderful! 🍁

speakout · 02/09/2018 11:54

GeeIneverthoughtofthat

I can smell your marmalade- I imagine your house smells divine!!

Apologies to the newcomers... My post saying welcome didn't appear for some reason. I am a newcomer/novice too and was inspired to join this thread because of the inspirational posts and women here too.

I've been working with many magical things over the years but only thought of my self as spiritual. This is an open, welcoming space I find to exchange ideas, ask questions.

Ps Altar question.. I don't have one yet but use my kitchen for candle work. I have candles and lavender in front of my grandparents photographs and rosemary twigs around my door. I use salt too in windows and corners. Currently reading about magical properties of rice. Like the idea of stones too..

..... The aroma of marmalade bubbling on the stove must be wonderful.

speakout · 02/09/2018 12:22

Insomma1 I don't really have an altar as such, I will make one for magical workings, but I have lots of altar type stuff scattered around my home on odd corners, tables etc.
In my bathroom I have a wide window ledge which has lots of water inspired altar things, shells, hagstones etc. In my living room again I have candles, feathers, other magical things.
In my sunny conservatoty I have my woodland and sun inspired collection, pine cones, dried flowers, witch's balls, broom, pictures of hares and deer, more candles.
Anyone coming to my house who is of a magical mindset would instantly recognise my "ornaments" as having magical significance.

But those with no magical interest wouldn't twig, just as well as my mother holds weekly bible study meetings in my home.

This thread has inspired me to be confidence to be bolder in my motifs however, I have a nice space in my hall looking for a goddess picture- any ideas?

Definitely feels like late summer here, rather than autumn! It's hot and my roses, lavender and geranium are blooming again after a July of nothing at all in the flower beds. But I just saw a couple of orb webs shining in the sunshine - autumn's coming...

speakout · 02/09/2018 13:10

KizzyWayfarer

Same here- still feels like summer.

Elderberries and blackberries still green.

Sounds lovely Kizzy.
My garden is also in full bloom, I’m sat under my wisteria which has flowered for the first time this year and grown at a rapid rate!!
I’m back in work tomorrow after a lovely two weeks off.
I was very stressed before but I’ve had chance to re-charge, enjoy nature and shift my mindset.
The intention is to keep it that way and not get myself so stressed about work again.

speakout · 02/09/2018 13:28

Ittakestwo

So glad to hear of your shift in mindset.
It's lovely to hear of a positive shift like this- I can hear that you are being kind to yourself.

Thank you @speakout and @insomma. Theres a lovely citrus smell wafting over the house.

I have always enjoyed cooking and used to do a lot of it but sadly it got drowned out by work and other demands. It’s nice to reclaim something that you enjoy!

speakout · 02/09/2018 14:03

drowned out by work and other demands.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat

I think that is the case for most of us, day to day living can suck the joy- work, admin, kids, housework magical works may seem like an extra thing to do.

I know what you mean by the cooking- it was always a passion, a big adventure, but when I had kids tended to move down the reliable repetitive route of family cooking.
I am lucky to be able to earn a living through my magical work, but it is hard too- and now my kids are almost adult and about to fly their tastes in food is much more adventurous too!

Hello, do you mind if you're join? Been lurking for a while. I'm not a witch or a pagan, but I've always had a real interest in witchcraft and anything spiritual and hoping I can learn from others on this thread.

I've always been interested in witchcraft and anything spiritual , and over the last year I've had a real pull to explore more and have been going to spiritual development groups. This is helping me feel so much more settled in myself and like I'm where I should be, if that makes sense.

I love nature and feel closest to spirit when I'm walking in the forest, watching the colours change and different flowers and berries grow as the seasons change.

I've been suffering from low energy for the past few weeks so any tips on how to shift this would be welcome 🙏

speakout · 02/09/2018 14:58

VioletCharlotte welcome!

Lots of room, I'll pour you a brew.

Low energy happens to all of us at time.
I would suggest make sure you get lots of sleep.
Otherwise I like working with sun energy for a lift- some of us had a chat about " spa showers", I like to use citrus oils sprinkled at my feet for an uplift.
I keep citrus skin and put in a bowl, in winter months when heating is on I put on top of a radiator for an instant uplift.
I like to work with the sun- try to bask- don't look directly but rising sun especially enegises me.

Hi violet,

I was feeling quite drained not too long ago, for lots of reasons.

Feeling much better now these lovely ladies on this thread have helped enormously the energy here is so nice and welcoming.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 02/09/2018 15:43

Need to have a proper catch up, but would I be asking too much to see if you can send me some good vibes today?
Finishing my dissertation - it is due tomorrow and nowhere near done 😰

VioletCharlotte · 02/09/2018 16:14

Thank you, interesting you mentioned sun basking. I've just been out for a dog walk in the sunshine and do feel a bit better for it. I live the idea of using citrus oils so will give that a go too. Thank you for the warm welcome Smile

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 02/09/2018 16:24

Hi @speakout

Yes that was exactly it! By the time I had done the list of things for the day I didn’t then have the time or creative energy to be able to do things that I enjoyed like cooking or crafting.

It was always my own things that tended to suffer and also my own self care. That is something I’m trying to address right now.

Just coming up to setting point in the kitchen. 😊

Welcome to all the new people too. I am also a novice.

Please can I tentatively delurk?

I've been reading these threads with great interest and not a little joy. So much of what you say resonates with me; I think I've been interested in magic my whole life, but on a very subconscious level. Thanks to these threads I'm becoming more aware of it and working with a little bit more intent.

I've always loved oils and crystals, but I've let the scepticism of others deter me in the past. Not any more.

I have a fairly new allotment, and the peace and energy I get from the place seems beyond earthly to me. It sounds odd, but raising a plant from seed to fruition feels like such a feminine and feminist act, and I'm not sure why.

I'm currently on holiday, and I get a similar feeling from the sea. As a child I'd spend hours on end just being with the water - paddling, watching the waves, swimming. I found some hagstones today, so I'll be taking them home and hanging them up - is that the right thing to do?

Hope I haven't rambled too much.

speakout · 02/09/2018 16:53

MawkishTwaddle

No rambling, no asking it things are right- just a huge big welcome.
Dip in - dip out, paddle, wade or swim this thread is open.

You are very welcome.

Thank you @speakout. I would have to say that I am pleased with it. I slightly caramelised the sugar to give it a golden glow. It reminds me of Autumn - orange and gold. 🍁

I would also have to say that I’m equally impressed by many of your abilities such as the Tarot readings and your support to each and every one of us on this thread. Thank you.

There are days when i do enjoy being a kitchen type. Today has been a good day. 😊

speakout · 02/09/2018 17:06

GeeIneverthoughtofthat

Thank you . And this is why it works. Raising a positive and nurturing environment- accepting differences, but appreciating the work of others is really what matters

Kitchen witch does it for me too!

Hi all.. loving this thread. As my user name implies, I practise my craft by myself. Outwardly, I am a nice Jewish mother, inwardly, I draw my strength by the moon, seasons and nature.
I am also feeling a bit low energy. I find the heat exhausting and wish for cooler, rainy days. I am finding it difficult to even light a candle to thank and acknowledge the Goddess for the gifts I have been given.
I know I need to lift my vibration up, just having a difficult time achieving it.

speakout · 02/09/2018 17:21

Welcome.
We all feel all at times that our energies are low.

Stick with this thread if nothing else, we have amazing women here who will lift you.XX

Hi all. I've been reading this and the other thread and I wondered if I could ask a question.

My friend recently lost her mum very suddenly and moved into her house yesterday. We were out in the garden and a little robin flew into the garden and sat with us all afternoon. I just had this feeling it was her mum checking my friend was ok but i don't know if I'm just being silly really.

I'd live your thoughts on this and feel free to tell me I am being ridiculous!
