Afraid not @Zaphodbebblebrox

Rowan trees have pinnate leaves, like feathers. Very similar to ash trees. Hope you find some.

Zaphodbebblebrox · 01/09/2018 15:52

Ah. Thank you! The search goes on...

EnchantersNightshade · 01/09/2018 15:55

I'm sure you got there before me, but here's a clear rowan pic. I recognise the other plant you posted but I can't think for the life of me what it's called Confused

Better one. Also known as Mountain Ash.

I moved into a house by the woods once that had a beautiful rowan tree in the garden. Made me very happy. Neighbours hated it & when I moved out, went round & chopped it down before the next people arrived Sad

That's hawthorn zaphod That is what I have marinating in brandy at the moment :)

Calm before the storm here - expecting a houseful tonight and some staying over. Sainsbury's rather let me down with the food order so it was a bit fraught for a while.

Elphame · 01/09/2018 16:12

Actually its not! Just taken a proper look and its one of the viburnams I think....

Zaphodbebblebrox · 01/09/2018 16:15

Thank you both!

I'm learning everyday here Smile

Enjoy the calm Elphame and hope all goes well tonight- despite Sainsbury's..

@speakout. Thank you so much for that card. It is interesting in so many different ways.

Firstly, at a purely descriptive level I planned to make jam today so that picture of a hardworking woman in her kitchen surrounded by a pan and bottles is a mirror of my own activities today.

Secondly I am someone who generally achieves by diligence and hard work rather than by inate skill. They are qualities that I value. Whilst that can be a good thing (because you create your own future) it can also be very tiring because everything requires effort and dedication. Just occasionally you get tired and that is where I am right now. It can be like standing at the foot of a mountain and trying to summon the energy to climb up.

Then, lastly, a key theme of this year has been the feeling of not being appreciated. I have been considering handing in my notice at work because of it. Although I enjoy the work (and I worked really hard to get to that position!) I do not enjoy working so hard as to be exhausted AND being taken for granted at the same time.

So, as to my current situation, you’ve really nailed it. A card indicating great future possibilities / opportunities without quite so much effort (😉) would have been nice but this one is so apt. It’s me.

What I don’t however know is how the card relates to the future. I tend to think that it indicates success by continuing down the same path but I’m not sure that I have the energy for that. Are any of you wise women able to offer up views so as to help?

Thank you again @speakout.

That's so interesting, and love reading about your own interpretation of the card- I don't know you or your situation so your take on the card meant a lot of sense.
If yo like I can draw another- a "clarifier" if you would like me to.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 01/09/2018 16:39

Hi @speakout

Thanks for your reply. I genuinely didn’t have to look further than the end of my nose to identify with the themes in that card. Lol

Yes please to a clarifier card if you have time ( and energy!)

ARoomSomewhere · 01/09/2018 16:50

I am reading this thread and crying.
I don't know why.
It seems such an accepting place?

speakout · 01/09/2018 16:58

GeeIneverthoughtofthat

No problem.

The card that has appeared for you is Judgement.

Not by others, but by yourself. By looking at your own life and finding it unsatisfactory. The witch in this picture is dancing to her own tune, to music only she can hear, moving down her own path of renewal and rebirth.
Are you dancing to your own tune or someone else's? There is joy to be found in finding the life that you choose to live. Are we listening to our own inner wisdom?
Is the judgement of others or ourselves holding us back?

Come in, have a warming cup. Sometimes when we find a nurturing place we can let go- that's OK. You are very welcome.
Grab a cushion, plenty room, talk, read, listen, all is OK.
Good that you came to join us.

Thank you speakout

I am in a very stressed place. I'd like to say why and ask for kind thoughts but it seems a bit much to just land here and ask for that?

speakout · 01/09/2018 17:24

ARoomSomewhere

Speak away. The fire is warm and your words are welcome.
Life is hard for all of us at times.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 01/09/2018 17:30

@ speakout. Thank you for the second card. Much food for thought here!

Judgement is a strong word and can have negative connotations ( fear of being misjudged etc) but I see this in some ways as quite a joyful card. The dancing woman, the cat reaching up towards the butterfly. The music. Joy can be found in doing the things that you want to do - dancing to your own tune. And it’s joy that I’m currently missing.

I see it as an opportunity to make some changes to align my own life to my own tune.

Thank you again.

18m ago i left my old life.
my eldest had a bad time at school. i felt something needed support but was told not to fuss. i kept pushing and was referred to SS (who dropped case but didnt tell me so i was still scared of consequences)
I found the courage to leave the area and my very unsupportive H.
I have been living in a new area. My eldest has just been diagnosed with Autism. Because i still am on the mortgage of my old house my benefits are about to end. My eldest is about to start a new school on Weds. He is not keen. H wants us to go back to old area. Son and I not keen but prob have to due to £.
Suddenly ive been offered an interview. Tues. For a great job. Which would give us chance to stay here. But son has to go to school...

I am beyond terrified. Of the interview. Of staying here and running out of £. Of 'going home' (can't do the job from there) and being bullied again (by school and H). I need to work. Kid needs school. We ALL need to feel safe. It seems like i cant make these basic things come together. And just when i need to be decisive i am a sobbing mess.

So if any wise women could send some strengthening thoughts my way i'd be incredibly grateful.x

@ARoomSomewhere

Have a ☕️

No one will mind that you just arrived and asked for help. This group is very supportive.

We are all just doing the best that we can.

ARoomSomewhere · 01/09/2018 17:42

I'd like to ask for kind thoughts. But also
I'd like to learn how to support myself by tapping into life forces better.
And to offer support to others too.

Insomma1 · 01/09/2018 17:43

Only just managed to come back on to read. Thank you for the responses on emotions. Am relieved that many of you can relate to that too.

@ Aroomsomewhere. That's a lot to contend with. I'm a novice but am wishing you peace, strength and prosperity. Flowers

Yes you are right about the Judgement card. In other decks there is an ethos of Gabriel, trumpeting the ultimate judgement - quite a scary and unforgiving card.
I love this representation in my new deck
I have several decks- and although this one seems to be quite fey and whimsical I am finding it empowering and some very strong meanings in these cards.

Welcome.
It sounds like you've done a lot to try and improve things for you and your family- you've fought for your son and taken huge steps for the safety of your family. I'm not surprised you're feeling stressed and unsure now. Please don't minimise how far you've come- you need to be aware of and feel your own power.
It's interesting that the job interview came out of the blue...I don't have the answers but I hope you can seek some practical support around finances (re the mortgage and benefits) and find a moment to see how far you've come.
There's some lovely suggestions on this and the first thread about cleansing and protection practices- have a read through if you can and see if anything resonates that you'd like to try. It doesn't have to be big but I think some self care would go a long way, sending positive thoughts your way Flowers

You have done so much already- braver than many of us, and putting your children first.

And that shows you have spirit- but please also be kind to yourself.

My son was bullied at school, but it was dealt with. My OH has autism.

Go for the interview. Settle in a little. If you get the job you may have a few weeks before you start,. You don't need to start your eldest at school immediately- and may give you time to contact staff to talk about needs and set up an easy introduction.

Sending love. X

I lost you all for a bit.

Im feeling quite fatigued now that the summer holidays are coming to a close. The heat, the kids being around more (I love them but im a single parent), the extra costs associated with that....

I feel ready for autumn, to start winding down, but slightly frustrated that I feel like there should be things coming to fruition in my life and there's just.... Not.

Im also starting to feel a bit sinusitis-y, ache behind my cheekbone, burning feeling in my nostril on that side when I breathe. If anyone has any good tips that aren't a hot toddy im all ears.
