mtga - sorry the panic attacks are getting you down a bit, I have them but not that bad, Prayers for your strength to overcome them.

CC - we don't know that story, who's the author, I'll see if I can get it from the library?

MaryBS - thank you for your kind words, I hope aswell that it won't be long before I get that lightbulb moment (slegehammer induced or not)

I really wish I could be there at the meet up 14 July, mixture of distance and too much on I have never met such a lovely bunch of people on mn and I thank you for being here, it inspires me to church and to pray and to look that bit harder at being a christian (even though I still seem to be sitting on that fencegetting splinters)

MaryBS · 06/05/2007 21:20

I love Room on the Broom! Not so popular now unfortunately (boo!). But DD would always complete the phrase "The witch tapped her broomstick and whoosh they were gone" (see I can still quote it!).

Getting bogged down in the Essay again - its getting there, slowly. Just spent another 2 hours on it! Where does the time go????

ZipadiSuzy · 06/05/2007 21:22

MaryBS - 'Where does the time go' ME TOO

Notquitegrownup · 06/05/2007 22:42

Evening all

Many thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement. Poor ds1 is still quite insecure and down about the shifting friendship patterns at school, which always seem to leave him as the odd one out, so your continued prayers for him and for me would be much appreciated. I had a couple of encouraging chats with other mums on Friday, so they (your prayers) were definitely helping.

A few words re the summer meetup. I'll update the thread too. I popped into our Baptist Rooms yesterday. They are confirmed for us for the 14 July. They are very basic and a bit musty, but the playground is right outside, the pub with the bouncy castle is directly across the road and the river/ducks/ a vast meadow are only 3 minutes walk away, so I am sure it will be fine for what we need. The kitchen is functional and they can let us have an electronic keyboard, if FannieAnnie makes it, to have a prayer and praise session. (Does anyone else play anything, in case she can't?)

There are two smallish rooms - ie they would fit 20 people each comfortably - so we can set aside one room for sleepy little people if anyone needs to bring a travel cot for snooze times. I have one still we can use.

Will try to find out about accommodation this week for anyone wanting to travel.

Prayers for you all. God bless.

Notquitegrownup · 06/05/2007 22:44

PS Sooz - I've been meaning to ask for a while, how is your dh getting on at work now?

MaryBS · 07/05/2007 08:06

I forgot to share this comment from church... apparently someone complained how there seemed to be more children than adults in church nowadays... and that its becoming a "children's church". Can't see what's wrong with that, myself
Two years ago, apart from the vicar's family, I think we were the only family in church!

MaryBS · 07/05/2007 08:10

I also forgot to mention that its this coming weekend DH and I are up in Sheffield...

CaptainCaveman · 07/05/2007 09:29

Sooz, it's by Julia Donaldson & Alex Schaffler (?sp), they've done 8 books in total - including The Gruffalo and The Smartest Giant in Town. Fab books, we have 4 of them and ds & I love them.

Mary thats news re so many children in church! I'm thinking you've had some influence in the growth of your church!

We're off to the zoo soon (aka, Florida!), will catch up later.

Prayers for all, esp little Madeleine in Portugal - ds asked me this morning where the little was . I hadn't even turned the tv on at that point.

CaptainCaveman · 07/05/2007 09:29

the little girl, that is...

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2007 11:14

Morning! [smile Happy Bank Holiday to all - hope you all have lovely things planned to do with your families! Weather is absolutely poo here! - Was going to go for picnic / afternoon on the beach, but I think we'll have to take a Rain Check on that one ...... Ha! Ha! "Rain Check", get it!!!?

OK, sorry .....

Ahem.

All fine here - DD's being delightful, esp DD1 who is an absolute angel with Phoebe. Atm DD2 is sleeping in her cot and DD2 is watching Hercules with DD3 sleeping next to her in the car seat. DH just having a shower and I am just catching up here while I have the opportunity!

Continuing to pray for you mtgaa - like someone (CC / Sooz??) said, it could just be a 'reaction' to your reduction in Meds - Praying hard that the panic attacks would lessen you would feel more and positive!! [[hugs]

Continuing to pray for you and your DS too, NQGU. [hugs Thank you soooo much for sorting all that stuff for the Meet-Up - It sounds absolutely fab and I am looking forward to it so much!! REALLY wish you could come too Suzy. Will go and find the thread in a sec and catch up .....

Notquitegrownup · 07/05/2007 12:42

Aww Sooz - did you not want me to check out camp sites for you still? It would be great if you could come - perhaps we'll have to have several gettogethers next year. One near Nottingham and one near North Wales, for starters.

CaptainCaveman · 07/05/2007 17:27

Hi all, had a great day out, despite the rains best efforts! Ds made up because he had his face painted like spiderman!!

Quick one for me - I've been feeling anxious on and off all day, not sure why. Please pray that its just a blip!

fannyannie · 07/05/2007 17:30

haven't read any of the posts since I last posted - but just wanted to ask for some little prayers to help me cope with the pain under my ribs/back. Had this bruising with the DS's - but not this bad (and only under my ribs at the front - not on my back in the 'same' place) but last few days I've been in almost constant pain - starting to get me down a bit now

mumtogusnalbie · 07/05/2007 18:14

on the subject of other meet-ups, how about one in Essex camping in my garden?!!

SueBaroo · 07/05/2007 18:37

Hi, I don't post on this bit much, but I thought I'd ask for prayer. Not sure I believe in it anymore, to be honest, but it can't hurt. Just very low, and feeling very wobbly with pnd. cheers.

mumtogusnalbie · 07/05/2007 19:34

Hi SueBaroo - welcome to the thread. I will pray for you and know that God will take care of you. PND is just awful isn't it? I suffered after my DS2 was born so you have my sympathies as I know how you feel.
How old is/are you LO(s)?
God Bless

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2007 20:50

Evening! Has been a bit of a non-event today, really, but has been nice to be with my little family all the same! Finally got out of the house at 4pm - took the sproglets to the park in the pouring rain - was very funny! DH wanted to "wear" DD3 in the sling, bless him - He is really is a big girl .... he loves shopping and trying on clothes and he esp loves all baby stuff like slings and cute wraps and wee pretty pink clothes .... he was MADE to have baby girls!!

Tee! Hee!

Hope everyone else has had nice Bank Holidays ..... Last day with DH at home tomrorow.

Praying that the pain would ease FA, sweetheart - Not nice being uncomfortable, esp when you are heavily PG with three (inc DH ) children to look after. [[hugs]]

CC - How are you feeling now? Praying hard for the anxiety to pass. [[hugs]

SueBaroo - Welcome to the thread!! It is lovely to "see" you here and rest assured that you'll have lots of people praying for you as you struggle through this diffcult time. [[hugs] Do keep with us and we'll help encourage and support you in any way we can!

Right, need to crack on with DD2's Birthday invitations .......

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 07/05/2007 20:52

NQGU - thanks for your thoughts, DH's work is very subdued atm, everybody is fed up not just my DH, when I get fully qualified (swimming instructor) and have plenty of shifts under my belt, DH will be able to retire twins will be at school by then and he can go golfing while I work! but atm we are taking each day as it comes, trying hard not to think about being layed off, he has actually been there 35 years, (2 weeks off sick)

CC - Thanks for the author, will definitely have a trip to the library, we've had gruffalo, loved it! hope your anxious feelings have subsided!

MaryBS - lovely that the church is 'full' of children brilliant!!!!!

Fannyannie - ouch, I remember with the twins pregnancy (not much room) my ribs were so painful, I thought if I stood up it would go but they just spread their little bodies out more then I couldn't even sit down, so my prayers are with you and sympathy!

CD - Aw no seaside today, it did cheer up later this afternoon here in notts, oops sorry I was in Grantham (ish) Belton Health and Leisure place!

Went to a health spa all day, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, manicure, facial, lovely 3 course meal. My sil treated me for my depression, was very grateful, never done anything like it before, I'm shattered (yawn) sorry was lovely! I feel very spoilt!

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2007 20:58

Ooooooooh Suzy - Sounds wonderful ..... Good for you!

BTW - I am a qualified swimming instructor!

ZipadiSuzy · 07/05/2007 21:01

CD - Its a lovely job, I get so much satisfaction from it. Did you have a nice day in the end?

Notquitegrownup · 07/05/2007 21:01

Welcome SueBaroo! I'm so glad that you made it over here. I saw your posting last week and know that your situation is a bit more complicated than PND. I've been praying for you, Hon, praying that you can find the support you need, here on MN and in real life.

MTGAA - I have every intention of visiting your garden one day. We are long overdue to visit relatives in Essex (Witham/Maldon area) so one day, God willing . . .

FA prayers for your pain to ease, and CC prayers for your anxiety to clear too. How's your sister doing now?

Could I ask for prayer that I could get to housegroup tomorrow please? It is my second attempt to start going again in seven years! I went a fortnight ago, but last week ds2 came up in blisters, which turned out to be a heat rash. I know that it is right that I should get back into church life more now. Prayers that nothing will stop me getting there tomorrow would be much appreciated.

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2007 21:02

Onto it, NQGU!
