Ooooh, Here's the link for my Birth Announcement ... Just got round to writing it .....

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 06/05/2007 12:13

Lovely story CD, and lucky you having a good birth!

Well I have just been to our local, no not the pub, CHURCH! yes I know, arn't I good, but it was morning prayer, so good job I'd taken pictures to colour (off computer) and 'playdough' was quite embarrassing cause at the end the children (only mine) were invited to the front of the church to 'show and tell' DS asked if he could take his picture to show Jesus, aw bless him! thing was, I'd done the colouring, so I declined to lots of laughter in congregation.

But anyway, I still didn't feel right, havent a clue what I am looking for when I do go to church, just know in my heart I should be there, perhaps I am looking for a different type of worship now, perhaps god wants me to help in sunday school or move on to a different type of club, who knows, but I hope for a sign, yes lord you can hit me on the head if you like, maybe I'll need a sledge hammer I obviously am not getting it atm, perhaps its the depression thing thats holding me back!

Sorry I seem to be blurbing on and on. Happy Sundays everyone!

CaptainDippy · 06/05/2007 12:18

Happy Sunday Suzy!!

Just got back from church and am currently sat in a house that contains THREE Sleeping Beauties ..... ..... tis very nice!!

Praying for that "Sledgehammer Moment" for you Suzy ..... In need of one of those myself re: church; so totally understand where you are coming from!! Glad you had a nice time though ....

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 06/05/2007 12:47

Hope God gives you what you're looking for soon Sooz.

We made little bundles on sticks, full of pots (teaset pots) to carry on our exile from Egypt. Then when our food had run out, we ate some manna (sp?) - aka frosties! Such fun.

Ds is going to be 3 on 10th May, just deciding what to do with him tomorrow for a day out - dh was going to take thurs off but now has a meeting with his boss because of the work situation. A bit about that because we had booked in to have some photos taken of us all. hey ho.

roseylea · 06/05/2007 16:35

Hi all!

Suze well done for getting to church this morning! It's a tricky thing, finding a church that is right for you - I should know after my soul-searching last yr that led us back to the same CofE that we were members of for years!

Anyway do you want to hear something? Well I was having a good prayer time the other night and reading my Bible and I remembered some quite obscure words from the Old Testament, not at all from any of the famous bits! I have never heard these words quoted in church, ever, but the other night I felt that I should read them and pore over them, and I could really imagine them being read over our congregation, and making a lot of sense to a lot of people.

So this morning at the end of the service the vicar said the normal blessing, then said "And I'd just like to finish with these words, which I believe are for each one of us to take into our hearts" and yes they were the same words! I think God is trying to tell me something. I told the vicar after wards that I'd read those words this week and he was like "Wow!"

Anyway, praying and thinking of you all.

God bless xxx

CaptainCaveman · 06/05/2007 17:39

Wow Rosey that is fab! God is great isnt' He?!

We're off to Twycross Zoo tomorrow - ds is proper excited, although for some reason he thinks he's going to Florida.....

ZipadiSuzy · 06/05/2007 17:51

Fantastic Rosey!!!!!!!!!!!!

CC - Aw bless your lo! I wouldn't correct him if it makes him feel good, mine think they are at the seaside on Trent Bridge!! cute

MaryBS · 06/05/2007 18:53

RL - sounds like a "God-incidence"
I love it when things happen like that!

CCM - LOL @Ds and Twycross Zoo - hope he won't be disappointed!

Sooz - praying that a way forward to you becomes obvious! It never ceases to amaze me sometimes, how things happen, and I pray it'll "happen" for you. And with a bit of luck, it'll be so amusing (like today's story), you'll rush on here and tell us!

mumtogusnalbie · 06/05/2007 19:25

Hi Everyone - i have finally caught up with all the posts and have sniggered out loud at a couple of comments made by LO's. The nipple thing made me laugh as did the Florida thing!!
Well, I haven't posted all week because I have an absolutely stinking cold and really can't get my head around anything at the moment. My panic attacks seem to be getting worse and I am really hoping that it is not because I am reducing my medicine - although this of course would make sense.
I am just sooooo tired at the moment with no real excuses - the boys are being really good and they both sleep well so I guess it is just my cold that is running me down.
We went to church this morning and it was the Childrens Anniversary Service so the boys were presented with a book. They were so chuffed and I was one proud mummy!!
Our Minister asked for volunteers to help him with actions for a song and my DS2 (just 3) couldn't get up the front quick enough - he is just soooooo cute!
Well - I am praying for everyone still and think about everyone every day. Hopefully, I will start feeling a bit better soon and will be back to my regular, more thoughtful posts.

Love to all and God bless
xxxxx

CaptainCaveman · 06/05/2007 20:17

MTGAA praying for you with meds reduction, hoping this is just a phase of withdrawal and soon passes. Yippee for your boys at church, I would've been crying!!

Does anyone know Room on the Broom? I've been reading it to ds for about 3 weeks, and he likes to finish off each sentence/line - keeps making me giggle when we get to the bit with the dragon, when the dragon gets scared off...

The dragon drew back
and he started to shake
"I'm sorry" he spluttered
"I made a mistake"

except in ds' version the dragon makes a STEAK....

ahh, just soo cute aren't they!

mumtogusnalbie · 06/05/2007 20:32

oh CC we love that book - my sister bought it for DS1 last year and it is definately a bit of a classic that will be going into their keepsake box to remember in years to come!
