Can anyone tell me how my ds got to be 3 years old next week?!!!!!!

CaptainCaveman · 03/05/2007 17:18

With all the problems going on I hesitate to add another prayer request to the list. See for yourself whether you can cope with it. It concerns a small baby called Matthew, about 9/10 months old. He suffered from congenital cataracts at birth (as does his mother, gran, aunt and two cousins), which Great Ormond Street decided to operate on. Messed it up, so the poor mite had four operations when he should only have had two. Terrible feeding problems, tube fed on expressed breastmilk. Now it has been discovered that he is suffering from multiple allergies and his parents have been warned that they have 'a very sick baby' on their hands. Christian parents and grandparents (they are very good friends and neighbours). Tomorrow morning they have to get up at 4 am to keep an appointment at Great Ormond Street at 9. What do you say? How do you pray?

MaryBS · 03/05/2007 22:18

Lord, we entrust this baby to your care. As always, may your will be done, for you alone know what is best.

God bless DutchOma, and thank you for asking for prayers. As Paul says:

Romans 8.26:
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words

Notquitegrownup · 04/05/2007 09:55

Good morning all.

Special prayers for your neighbours and friends DutchOma.

Could I add a request too. We are part of a small village and, as I have mentioned, it has been very difficult making friends here. We have been friendly with lots of people, and the boys have lots of playdates, but we are just not finding real friends. The boys (and I) find it confusing when people do want to play one month, then clearly dont the next, the do again later on. Please pray that we can settle here, if it is where God wants us to be, and pray that I don't get paranoid too - we are not in the "in crowd" and I dont cope well with village/playground politics, mums whispering to each other. Ugh!

Praying for all on this thread. I did smile yesterday at the thought of a quizzical look on God's face as I was praying for Beetroot (amongst others) as I had a blank moment, and prayed my way through lots of foodstuffs before getting it right! So Rhubarb/Custado and others, you had an extra prayer said for you yesterday!

MTGAA - are you OK? Long time no hear.

Mary, how is Liam? He was on my mind this morning.

God bless all.

CaptainCaveman · 04/05/2007 11:01

DutchOma, praying for Matthew and all his family & friends. Great passage Mary, as ever.

NQGU, praying for your settling into the village. God will provide you with the support and friends you need, we will keep praying for the 'locals'(!) to be more friendly and accepting. LOL at praying through foodstuffs!

Another prayer request - dhs job is being restructured nationally so where there are currently 18 people doing the same job, there will only be 6 in the future. He and his boss seem fairly certain he is safe, but he still has to apply and be interviewed for the new post. Dh has said if he doesn't get it he'll leave - depsite that he would be pay protected for 4 years, to stay would mean a demotion in physical terms. Am slightly concerned about paying bills etc as mortgage wouldn't be protected if he resigned . Praying that a) he gets the job and b)we are able to discuss as a family what to do if a) doesnt' happen.
Thanks guys.

Ok, so the sunshine promised hasn't arrived. We were going to play in the park but are going to a pub instead now! Am just in such a good mood today, THANK YOU GOD, I LOVE THE WORLD!!

PandaG · 04/05/2007 12:59

Hello all

Praying for Matthew, and for all on the thread.

ROFL about you praying for all the foodstuffs on MN! Bet Custardo et al would be pleased!

Hi CD, will mail you afterthe weekend for pics, would love to see Phoebe.

See you all on TUesday! xx

ZipadiSuzy · 04/05/2007 14:06

Hia all, hope you have a wonderful, May Day weekend.
PandaG - good luck with the camping
CC - Good alternative choice from park to pub!
CD - Lots of prayers and hugs hoping 'routine' begins to set in (as much as it can with a new born)
MaryBS - Please keep inspiring me with your wonderful words!
NQGU - Prayers for your family to settle in with 'the crowd' don't be too hard on yourself.
DO - Great big prayers and hugs for baby matthew
Roseylea - Have you got your tidying up done yet for MIL - when our dc see me tidy up they always ask who's coming! ahem!!!! yes ok I admit!! oooooh how fab writing your own column in local paper, prayers for your 'viewpoint' to be active!
Notsofarnow - how are you atm, prayers and hugs!
FA - Hope you are sleeping better, how long have you got left?

ZipadiSuzy · 04/05/2007 14:41

CD - I have just e-mailed you, sorry it felt like I was stalking you for pictures promise I wasn't! anyway, take your time, I know you must be really busy, when I had the twins, I didn't even have time to eat let alone breath!

MaryBS · 04/05/2007 17:14

Suze - not my words, but Paul's! It wasn't even the quote I was looking for, but it just leaped out at me!

CCM - praying for your DH's job... and everyone else there too

NQGU - know exactly what you're going through as I live in a village and I'm not in the "in" crowd! I hate all the village politics too! I AM in the "in church" crowd, and that's making a difference

I've not been able to find out much on Liam. MIL didn't know much when I saw her on Sunday. As far as I know he's settling in at the care home where he is now. His parents went to see him Sunday.

God bless all

Mary

fannyannie · 04/05/2007 17:17

hello everyone - haven't had time to catch up since posting my congratulations to the dippy family.

Suzy - I'm still sleeping terribly - getting comfortable is a real dificulty now.

DS1 has come home from school with chickenpox........and of course it could work out that if DS2 gets them that he may still be infectious when DS3 arrives - spoke to the dr. on the phone just now and he was very reassuring - but can't help but worry with the 'wrong' timing of passing on the virus that I could end up with a newborn at risk of getting them .

Anyhow - must go and bath my DS's (they're not happy as they won't be getting bubbles tonight due to the chickenpox) and cook them something to eat.

CaptainCaveman · 04/05/2007 17:43

Well we've had muchos fun today, been to the pub for lunch with 4 3yr olds (ok 1 3yr old and 3 v.nearly 3 yr olds), then played in the soft play for 2 hours then played outside in the park for an hour, chasing and blowing bubbles.

Need a laugh? Ds called me a Nipple this morning . We were just sat on the settee play fighting and he was saying "you're noying me (annoying)" then followed with "you nipple". Then when I was telling him that it was rude to call someone that he kept guerning at me! How do you keep a straight face!?

CaptainDippy · 04/05/2007 19:55

Oh CC, ROFL @ your DS calling you a nipple ..... . On a more serious note, really praying that DH's job is kept safe, must be a worry for you, despite the reassurance. [hugs

Enjoy camping Panda!

Hope DS is ok with the Pox FA, praying it passes through your family quickly, I am sure you will be well out of it by the time you have LO.

All ok here, just a bit spaced, but doing well and thoroughly enjoying having Phoebe around! Off to Tesco in a sec.....

Have emailed out pics to people who have emailed and requested - So hopefully you should have got them ok!

ZipadiSuzy · 04/05/2007 19:58

Please lord send me some positive vibes, can't get my head round anything atm, very teary, don't know why, which is really annoying, everything is tooooo much bother, just want to sit here and do nothing! sore throat, doctor says its exhaustion, dc are feeling my quietness and play up, feel a rubbish mummy and wife, please get me out of this 'hell hole'

ZipadiSuzy · 04/05/2007 20:00

Sorry CD - Absolutely georgous family, beautiful children, and how can you look so good after giving birth? well done you, prayers for strength to cope with 3 young dc and keeping your lippy on!

ZipadiSuzy · 04/05/2007 20:03

TESCO'S you've just given birth!!!!!!!!

MaryBS · 05/05/2007 05:44

I seem to recall I did the same after Rebecca was born. About 8 hours after coming out of hospital, we went to Tescos...

How is everyone today? We're off to Legoland, hence the early start...

katzg · 05/05/2007 07:34

hello all

praying for everyone and welcome again to baby phoebe, my baby phoebe is now 4.5 years!

children's hospital appointment went well yesterday, they want to do more tests get us to see more doctors, they really seem focused on helping dd2, but is very exhausting and i really just want a magic pill to make it all better, which i know doesn't exist, but they gave us some cream for dd2 which we used last night and she slept through for the first time in ages, so at least feel more human today.
