Religions kill people

OP posts:
picklemepopcorn · 07/04/2017 21:31

So, you can't then. I don't want to get into a slanging match with you, as I am not a hate filled bigot, despite what you choose to believe. I've said everything I need to say, 'let he who has ears...'
I'm off to spend my energy for something more productive, that will increase the love in the world rather than spreading bile.

This weekend I'll be gardening in the community garden, planning a community meeting about local services, probably making cake for someone. I wonder what you will be doing.

picklemepopcorn · 07/04/2017 21:32

Sorry, that was goady, and I've no wish to offend or engage.

Nice to talk cake and birds with the rest of you though, and I'll look out for that bible version!

remainderman · 07/04/2017 21:45

remainderman · 07/04/2017 21:50

picklepop, all that you spread is the killing of innocent children in Syria. When will you stop the killings, don't read the bible this weekend that tells you how to kill

OP posts:
remainderman · 07/04/2017 21:53

you can try to offend me as much as you want picklepop, but I know who the evil ones are.

remainderman · 07/04/2017 22:10

Willow are you really as dumb as you sound

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 07/04/2017 22:24

Aww shucks the classic retort when somebody cannot hold up his side of an argunent/debate is to act like a child and resort to personal attacks.

If you dont understand anything out of your little anti religion hate filled fucked up box then it's not me that's dumb.

Now DFOD

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 22:26

Case in point. You can't even get my name right.

Can we define what religion is? Because its my understanding that most religions are defined by its 'leaders' who espouse what its virtues are. Yes their are books that explain what the religion is but they have to be interpreted by its leaders which is feed back to the followers every weekend.

So when you get a religious leader preaching about death to anyone, they are brainwashing persuading the good people who follow that religion to accept something murderous.

People become the weapon, and the preachers are pulling the trigger. So whether you say religion is killing people, or religious leaders are killing people its symantics. The religious ideas cause death.

The new Atheists have been educated like never before by great writers and communicators' such has Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Dan Dennet, Lawrence Krauss, Matt Dillahunty. Science has answered many questions set by the bible and Genesis not least evolution I can remember faith schools in 1961 making a concentrated effort to deny evolution. by producing a book called The Challenge, which resulted in the abuse of children through brain washing.
New Atheists have read Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Exodus ect and the new testament Gospels. We can deal with the Christian Judo and Islamic faiths like never before. Education and science are destroying religion and it will eventually come to an end because of its own evil agenda. Religion has lost the respect it used to have mainly because they have shot themselves in the foot by killing each other. Serbia, Northern Ireland, Kosova and killing innocent people and children in terrorist attacks in the name of god. Africa were children are starving now because they are told they cannot use condoms, were they are told it is better to catch aids rather than use a condom.
Dont tell me religion does not kill, it kills now more than ever before

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 07/04/2017 23:44

You can't be bothered to get someones name right but you want them to engage in debate with you?

Isn't it past your bedtime?

originalbiglymavis · 07/04/2017 23:50

Yawn. Methinks the op is a bot.

ollieplimsoles · 08/04/2017 00:10

Op, your debating style is a bit strange. You mentioned 'new atheists' lol being educated by Hitch, Dawkins, Dennet ect.. Have you read any of their books? Because if you had you would be sharper in a debate on religion. And Matt Dillahunty- there is no way he would just drop a claim out there without back up!

remainderman · 08/04/2017 00:33

I do wonder what will replace religion when it goes. I dont think it is going to be easy, of course we will still have laws but will that be enough. We all miss our love ones when they die the religious mentality does bring solace to believers, but atheists know that is not true, and it does not take away the love you have shared with others. However, life without religion will probably be hard but that is no reason to perpetrate a myth. It is amazing how you can be at peace when you accept there is no god, fear of death leaves your mind, the release of dread you perceived has gone, you are then become truly at peace.

OP posts:
remainderman · 08/04/2017 00:40

Debating style is strange; could you explain why you say that

OP posts:
DioneTheDiabolist · 08/04/2017 00:55

I tested your comment in Google OP. Google does not agree that you are "very intelligent". Google was a bit rude about you, so I won't repeat what it said.

remainderman · 08/04/2017 07:26

Why concern yourself with my feeling now Dion, I dont care about yours

OP posts:
TeaForever · 08/04/2017 07:29

I haven't had a chance to read all the comments yet, so apologies if I'm repeating anyone. I just had to comment!

I'm a Christian, a full-on Jesus freak! Totally in love with God, and I don't care who knows it. But I admit that some of the things the institution of the church has done throughout the ages are awful and totally unchristian in fact. I think it's always important to remember that people are people. Unfortunately humans have a habit of perverting things for their own ends at times - all sorts of things. People of all faiths and none had done dreadful things. Atheist states such as Stalinist Russia have caused horrific suffering too.

As a person of faith I do feel a have a duty to be very careful with my behaviour and words and so on, as I think people are more inclined to judge me, which is fair enough.

I'm so sorry to anyone who has had a bad experience of Christians or the church. Please know these things are not of God. He is wonderful & amazing x

TeaForever · 08/04/2017 07:31

Sorry, I meant to say 'I have a duty...' not 'a have a duty...' Blush
