rosey - DH is going to handwash the clothes until we can get the money together - thankfully he grew up in a country with no washing machines (or only for the really rich - and even then usually just the expats LOL) so it's 2nd nature to handwash clothes.

I want a new one especially with DC3 on the way - we've seen the one we want so we just need to raise the £350 to get it.

It's not actually as bad as it sounds. We can use some of DH's expenses, and I get the tax credits into my account next week. With some careful juggling (and a bit more flogging on ebay from me ) we should be able to pay for it by the end of next week - so then it'll just be a case of how long until they can deliver!

CaptainCaveman · 13/03/2007 21:16

Hi, not had chance to catch up on thread yet but wanted to say Hi and am praying for you all!

All well here, finally stopped ads and feeling great but a little vague and dizzy. Got super sore boobs and feeling mega tired - not trying to get pg but did test just in case and it was negative. Might test again in a couple of days if AF doesnt' arrive.....

sorry I'm rambling!!

love and prayers to all

Just been to a fabulous talk by the Bishop of Huntingdon. He talked about a lot of things, but raised the subject of depression, which touched a chord with me.

Firstly he said that churches are hospitals for sinners, not homes for saints. Secondly he talked about people in the bible being less than perfect. He mentioned David as an adulterer, and he said every time Peter opened his mouth he put his foot in it! He said if even Jesus' immediate followers can't get it right, we should take comfort in that. Lots of good stuff in his talk.

CCM - keep us informed, at times like this, I need a popcorn chewing smiley like I have on another board!

LWTG, I really feel for you. It must seem never ending, but hang in there. We're here for you, post as much as you need, or if you want to email me you can - I'll respond as soon as I can (given that I'm out Wed/Thurs and Fri we're off to stay in a Travelodge near Legoland as that's where we're going Saturday!)

JBW - praying for you and your family. Also for your job interview!

RL/CD and everyone thanks for your prayers re: forgiveness. I think I'm getting there, although it'll be a while before trust returns. Its good to feel everyone behind me!

RL - well done on the fundraising, how did your bible study go?

Sooz - still struggling on childcare unfortunately. God will provide, somehow.

NQGU - FIL is swelling up at the joints, his elbow looks like a tennis ball is attached! I don't think he'd go for any homeopathic remedies, otherwise I'd suggest it... thanks for thinking of it though

CD - can sympathise on the lice/nits. They seem to be a permanent fixture in our house, unfortunately. No sooner do we get rid of them, they come back again through a fresh infestation!

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with my Emmaus leaders to help plan how we're going to do it. My final mug, I mean volunteer agreed to do it tonight, so I have enough people! Just need to get on and inspire people tomorrow! Plan to start it after Easter!

The bish asked how my course was going, which was really nice of him. I had my hands in the washing up at the time, so got "rescued" so I could talk to him about it. Told him that I was really enjoying it but finding it very tiring!

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2007 07:31

Morning! Back to civilisation ..... DD's and DH still asleep, so thought I'd catch up on here and do a few bits while I've got the opportunity - couldn't go back to sleep when I woke at 6.30!! It's a lot lighter here in the mornings than in the Scottish Highlands (go figure .....)

So we got back in one piece - hurrah - journey back was ok - apart from being stopped at the airport and told I'd have to get a drs letter to be able to fly - eeeeek!! So I flew out without one and now you're telling me I suddenly need one - I thought I had read all the literature re: flying while PG; but obviously not Anyway, called my v.lovely dr and he faxed one through straight away and we were off ...... DD's were soooo good on the way home, bless them and even though our flights and trains were all delayed we got back in a relatively non-stressful manner - Thank you Lord!

Back to "normal" now -

Have to be quick now as DD2 is awake. Bum.

JBW - I am so to hear about your step-father - praying for all your family, esp your mum and nana (and you!) as you embark on the grieving process. I do hope he went peacefully. When is the funeral?

Rosey - Fab news on raising all that cash for Comic Relief and all the great stuff you've been doing to raise the status of Fairtrade! How did the Bible Study go? Sounds pretty heavy stuff....

lwtg - [[hugs] Praying for clarity and wisdom to work a way through this time and beyond .... Keep posting .....

FA - We had to get a new washing machine just before Chrismas and it was delivered within a couple of days, so you will be fine - Hope DH enjoys "going back to his roots" in the meantime!!

Praying for you Fellow Captain as you cope with having stopped the ADs completely (well done! ) Praying symptoms will stop soon and you will start feeling more "normal"

Well best go and crack on with all the sorting that needs .... sorting ....

Glad you had a good time!

JBW · 14/03/2007 10:02

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

C.Dippy - funeral is next Tuesday. My brother is flying over from Melbourne and he will be reading the eulogy. I am doing a reading of a poem my sister wrote.

Cannot believe SF has gone. He really was the nicest man I have ever known. Was a privilege to know him.

Notquitegrownup · 14/03/2007 10:07

Good morning all, and welcome back to the Dippys.

JBW - special prayers for you and your family at this time. Not sure if you do hugs but here's one for you {{{hug}}}

LWTG - praying for a way forward for you and your dh.

Mary - you post on another board! (Do you have a healing service? Maybe fil would consider going there instead of homeopathy. Praying for his elbows anyway. Owwww.)

Please could I ask for prayers for Saturday for ds1's birthday party. Last year was at a soft play centre, but was fairly close to a riot! I swore to take him to the cinema this year, but I do want to consolidate some of the new friendships he is making, so we're organising an indoor football party instead. Prayers please that dh and I can maintain control, give them a good time, and not have any injuries!

MaryBS · 14/03/2007 12:24

NQGU - actually I don't post very often on it now. There's about 10 of us on a private board. I'm the "Godbotherer" on there! I post more on here than anywhere else now (although Ship of Fools is good for its entertainment value!)

As for getting my FIL to a healing service - I'd love to, but his opinion would be unprintable! He gives DH enough grief about the children and I going to church as it is! Good idea though.

Praying for your DS's party, that its a success.

MarsLady · 14/03/2007 14:59

Hi guys. Another c&p from Sue.

Hi guys, its me again!!!!Run to the hills........
As you know from some of my other epics,Dave has scans this week..PET scan on Thurs,CT on Fri. I'm just emailing you all to ask if you would do abit of shouting for us,its not so much the scans but how Dave is at the moment. I can't put my finger completely on it but Dave has been under the weather for a couple of weeks.Tiredness is an issue but to be honest he really really is trashed at the moment, I've never seen him so tired. He went on a job yesterday and was so exhausted I had to catch a tube to go and meet him so that I could drive him home. Sorry to be graphic and I hope you're not eating your kebab, but Dave has very very bad diaorreaha,he's up 2/3 times at night and we have to check out where the loos are as soon as we arrive anywhere...nice eh!!!!!!

We had a hospital appt last week and we told them about the screaming ab-dabs...they were alittle more interested than I had hoped they would be and they want to do tests with a possible biopsy in a few weeks if things don't calm down.........this is where you come in if you don't mind. They have talked about GvHD [which to be honest is what I'm really really wanting it to be]we are not even going to go down any other options....basically could you pray that Dave's stomach sorts its self out,at the very least we can't afford all the loo paper we are getting through and bless his heart its just so awful for him. I must add at this point,as usual I've struggled and been quite upset at times ,Dave however has not batted an eyelid and is not in the least bit worried ,he's obviously not enjoying himself at the moment but he isn't worried. We need the diarreaha to stop and for Dave to stop being so exhausted

Sorry its not a more light hearted email,I haven't got a giggle inside me at the moment,I'm sure I'll find the funny side soon, its just hiding at the moment!!

Will keep you posted

*

Please pray. Thanks.

Prayers being said

MaryBS · 14/03/2007 18:01

Well, my meeting went well. I have dates fixed and leaders for each of them. I handed out the course materials. I'm doing the first one, and its here at my house. I just need to get letters sent out to all those who wanted to take part! Thank you God for giving me the confidence to get on with it!

BTW - is anyone still interested in my bible study thread? Do you want to think on it some more? Do you want me to find some more to post on the same subject, or do you want something different? Feedback please! I'm aware I've not given a lot of time to it...

Notquitegrownup · 14/03/2007 19:38

Hi Mary

Thanks for the reminder of the Bible Study Thread. I'm happy to chip in a few ideas, if anyone else wants to do so too.

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 14/03/2007 20:28

mary would love to contribute but just can't bring myself to pick up that there bible and read it.

Dh moved out this morning and I haven't been able to talk to people without filling up.

Just feel like i've failed everyone. My marriage vows were for life not for 16 years and thats it. My kids will have to now grow up being from single parent family and none of my friends are single parents. WHY has this happened?

mary will email you next week maybe seems you not around.

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2007 21:06

Oh lwtg [[[hugs]] You know we are all here for you and we all care about you - Praying lots for you and your family now and in the next few months as you adjust etc....

Praying for DS's Birthday Party NQSGU - You are brave indeed! - I am sure a wonderful time will be had by all!!

Thank you for the C&P re: Dave and Sue, Mars (hello! ) Continuing to pray for them - esp praying that they would find a root cause of all this recent tiredness and ill health.

Speaking of tiredness - feeling pretty flaked here myself - Few more bits and bobs to do and then off to bed, me thinks.....

See you all tomorrow ....

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 14/03/2007 21:25

I know you are all there for me and that really means a lot. Just feel I am whollowing in a sea of self pity right now.

MaryBS · 14/03/2007 21:32

Just be gentle with yourself. You're going through a lot right now, and I wish I could tell you why, all I can do is pray that God reveals his purpose to you.

You can still email me. I'll make a point of trying to pick it up before I go... seems like you need someone to listen... I'm here if I can help. {hug}

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2007 23:25

Ditto to Mary's words lwtg - go easy on yourself sweetie - Time is a great healer - cheesy but true. Keep trusting in God's Love and Purpose.

Off to bed now, tired bunny .....

OP posts:
MaryBS · 15/03/2007 07:16

I was awake in the middle of the night (again!), thinking about God's purpose and I did get a strong sense that there IS a purpose to this, LWTG, but you need to accept God's will. You are being a lot stronger than I EVER was when I went through my breakup, and yet NOW I can see why it happened to me. God DOES love you and he WILL take care of you all, you need to allow him to minister to you. {hug}

AND DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT IT, ITS NOTHING YOU'VE DONE!

God bless

Mary

PandaG · 15/03/2007 07:51

Glad to see you back safe and sound CD, and that you had a good break.

LOngway. I have no wise words to offer, just to reassure you that I am praying for your whole family too. Much love to you honey xx

roseylea · 15/03/2007 08:05

LWTG just want to add my love and prayers to the others'. May God just simply hold you.

It's my day off today (hooray!) so I'll try to post again later. I'm off on a retreat this weekend which I am really looking forward to (today I have to get myself organised and get everything ready for dh to look after the dcs - lay out clothes, make meal plans etc)

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 10:42

Ooooh rosey - a weekend to yourself (and God!) - how exciting - May the Lord Bless you lots and lots as you rest and spend time with Him....

How are you doing today LWTG?? [hugs] We're here.....

All ok in DippyLand, though I think my trip away is catching up on me now - feeling a bit spaced and dizzy and tired; but ok - Glad that DD1 has gone to Toddlers with a friend and DD2 is sleeping - She actually went down with absolutely NO FUSS this morning - I was and very Obviously, it was "just a phase", which is a huge relief!! Thank you SO MUCH for all your prayers!

Friend bought our swinging crib and bouncy chair back last night, which was excellent - Feeling ever-so tiny bit more organised now! Really trying hard to get my head round this baby now; feeling very apprehensive, but excited too! Please pray for this imminient huge adjustment in DippyLand - all seems a bit over-whelming atm, iykwim!!?

Mmmmm, best go do stuff ......

Good morning all.

Special prayers LWTG.

I'm flying by, but we need a quick prayer for Justine and the MN team, who are in discussions today with a certain lady, who is seeking to have MN closed down.

Part one of the discussions were on Tuesday and went quite well, apparently.

Praying that you are all still here tomorrow!

God bless all.
