roseylea · 15/03/2007 14:01

hello again!

I'm in the middle of a housework day - sorting laundry, washing clothes, cleaning the kitchen etc etc - so I'm just popping on here for a well-earned break!

I'm certainly thinking of Justine and the team, and praying for them.

THe Bible study the other night was really good and great fun too. It's not heavy at all - it's based on a study book that comes from the same church in the USA that did the "Purpose Driven Life". I'm doing it with the woman who introduced me to Christ at the age of 13 so we've known each other a long time and are honest with each other about our lives.

Also...I'm almost a bit wary of saying this, but...we had a healing service on Sunday a.m. and I took dd up for prayer. Well, now her skin is the best it has ever been, and we haven't had to put any steroid cream on her since the weekend (usulaly we have to use bucketloads of Elocon). I'm aware that excema comes and goes, but it has never been anywhere near this good before.

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 14:11

Fanatastic rosey honey - Continuing to pray for DD's skin, but soooo pleased it is lots better since the service - God is amazing, isn't He!!?

Couldn't do my hoovering and tidying for me, could you hon? Just while you're at it!!?

could we add to our prayers the wife and family of Father Paul Bennett who was stabbed to death in front of his wife yesterday afternoon in the church grounds.

roseylea · 15/03/2007 18:10

FA I read about him in the Times - what an unbelievable tragedy.

I don't really want to post my e-mail addy here as it is so very recognisable! Mary has it so if need be Mary if you could forward it on to the others...

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 22:36

Definitely praying for Father Paul Bennett's family - what an awful tradgedy. I used to live v.near Aberdare and Mountain Ash in South Wales.

Off to bed ....

roseylea · 16/03/2007 07:09

Hello all!

Well I am very excited about going off on my own for a personal retreat! I'm taking lots of things to read but I do so want to spend time with God and to let him speak as well, so it might be that I don't get through much of the reading! I think I'm going to visit a church on Sun a.m. where my old vicar (from my teenage years!) is - it's a very special place for me as I've visited there many times over the years and always felt God's presence so strongly.

Could you pray please? Both for me, that it would be a special time of renewal, and for everyone at home. Ds was sick yesterday afternoon, but he's been fine since then - no sign of temp, etc - dh says don't worry, we'll all be fine etc etc. So could you pray that he would be fine? And that I won't be panicking? (Or ger lost - it's an easy drive but nonetheless I have been known...! )

See you all soon! xxx

mumtogusnalbie · 16/03/2007 07:57

Good Morning everyone - still no puter at home (by the way "puter" is what my kids call it and it is one of those words that has just stuck, a bit like "troller" for the remote control!!) so just flying by at work.

I have read through all the posts since my last visit and can not believe what complicated lives we all lead. I was truly inspired by LWTGo post - I'm sure it seems like a long time ago that you all read it but I will definately be returning to it to make sure I take it all in!!

LWTGo - I really feel for you honey. As you know I have been going through something vaguely similar and I too feel very strongly about my marriage vows however I also feel it is important to do what is best for you and your children. God knows that you have tried and that now is the time to move on - He does have a purpose for you, He just hasn't necessarily revealed it yet. Relax in his love and take your lead from Him. I pray that you get the financial situation sorted out soon. This wasn't something that I had to worry about as my H didn't actually have any money and our bank accounts had been sorted out before he was declared bankrupt. Big, big, big hugs and prayers for you at this really difficult and challenging time .

Well my life is as surreal as ever! My car started to play up on Wednesday and a warning light came up on the dashboard. I drove it straight to the local Fiat dealer and was told they were very busy but would try to fit it in for a diagnostic test (at the cost of nearly £50.00) that afternoon. Luckily, the garage is fairly close to MIL so walked back to her house to wait for news. The garage finally phoned to say that my car needed new spark plugs (had a full service about 6 weeks ago?!!) and HT leads (whatever they might be!!). They also advised not driving it as I may damage the catalytic convertor. So - how do I arrange the school run when we live about 8 miles from the school in the middle of nowhere? Bless my FIL - he came and picked us up Thursday morning at 6.30am before he went to work. Last night H stayed over (?!!) so that he could give me a lift to work this morning. It was a very weird evening to say the least. He was obviously very uncomfortable about the whole situation - as was I. Anyway, we got through it but it has confirmed to me that our relationship will just never work and we are doing the right thing by going our separate ways (well as separate as we can when we have 2 young children, he lives with his mum and his mum looks after the kids while I work!!).

Anyway - sorry for my long ramble. I find this a good place to put my thoughts down in writing to people who will listen and not judge - thanks.

I will be going to church on Sunday for the Mothering Sunday service, so will hopefully hear an update on my Ministers sons treatment. Thankyou all for your continuing prayers.

God Bless Everyone and hopefully I will have my puter back up and running soon so I will be able to post a more meaningful message!!

Notquitegrownup · 16/03/2007 10:10

Good morning all and happy red nose day.

The dss school is wonderful. All the kids have gone in wearing red (ds1 was a post box, and ds2 father christmas) and the whole place is awash with redness and good humour. I'm now at work (hence the haste) and the only one wearing a red nose and red clothes! (In fact I haven't seen anyone else smiling yet!!) Oops!

Time to work. Prayers for all. God bless.

CaptainDippy · 16/03/2007 10:41

Morning! Just popping in - busy as always .....

Hope you have the most wonderful time on your retreat rosey - come back refreshed and renewed and full of the Holy Spirit!!

Bit too!

Hello MTGAA! Tis a v.weird situation for you to be in honey - praying for some straight-forwardness to come into it all. If you don't mind me asking, how do you actually feel about DH atm? Do you still love him and hope you can get back together? Sorry if that is prying... Anyway - hope your car gets fixed asap and you're able to motor round as normal!

All ok here, just "doing stuff"..... would be cool if you could pray for the DippyLand finances - still in dire straits! No money for this month at all and no food in the fridge ..... eeeeeek! God will provide!

I've been ill today with stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Please pray that the worst effects have gone now, as we're off to stay in a travelodge tonight, prior to going to legoland tomorrow!

BTW has anyone heard from Weirdbird lately? She lives near Legoland...

JBW - well done on getting the job!!!! Am praying for you and your family for support during the weeks ahead.

Remembering everyone else in my prayers...

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 16/03/2007 20:39

Evening all. Had a horrible, horrible eve yesterday started off stressful then went to choir practice and cried all the way through it almost. Didn't sleep well and was awful all morning, went to a friends for coffee and cried most of morning as well.

Feeling better now even though dd's have continued to bitch each other everytime they look at each other. Just feel that being a mum is so, so hard sometimes.

I wish I could decern Gods will in all of this and tbh just wonder if i'll ever be sorted emotionally.

The more I think about it the more convinced I am that h has lost the plot mentally and that everything he has said ie. not loving me, God or anything else is all part of somekind of mental/emotional breakdown. Trouble is if he ever sorts himself I don't know if I want him back, he has messed with my head soooo much and I don't know if I will ever recover.

Oh aye and something else, if I come to this meetup can someone tell me where the nearest travel lodge is. Really don't know if i'm going to be able to afford it but it woudl be good if I could.

Notquitegrownup · 16/03/2007 23:30

Hi LWTG - so sorry that you are going through this. I know that what you are going through is incredibly painful. I think that you are amazing, holding things together for your girls, who are bound to pick up on the tension and sadness at home at the moment. Hugs and prayers for you all tonight.

The nearest travelodge to us is called Cherwell, which is about 13 miles north, though I believe that the Reading one is cheaper. I'm going to put an appeal out at church at Easter for accommodation, to see if any kind souls want to put up a family, so will let you know if any are forthcoming. Prayers for this one, I think, everyone for volunteers to come forward soon.

Good night all.

CaptainDippy · 16/03/2007 23:50

Yes it would be so lovely if you could come to the Meet-Up lwtg! [[[hugs]] to you honey - I wish there was more I could say. I wish there was something I could say to make this right; but there just isn't anything except I am praying for you and your family lots - you ARE doing well and you ARE a great mummy!

Praying for you Mary - really hoping that this nasty bug leaves you asap - esp so you can enjoy your weekend away - hope you manage to have a super time!

Things not so good in DippyLand atm - too exhausted to go into details, but just pray. Thank you!

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2007 08:49

Hey honey - surely Mothering Sunday and DS' B'day are positives too - You've still got your beautiful children around you - and they all love you (contrary to what you might feel sometimes...) I am so sorry to hear about your MIL - she isn't suffering any more though, which is good. [[hugs] to all of you.

Happy Mothering Sunday to you all - Praise the Lord for women!!

OP posts:
Notquitegrownup · 18/03/2007 10:51

Good morning all.

to hear about your mil, LWTG, although hope that you might get some comfort from the fact that she did not suffer for a long time, and that you were right in your instincts to visit her last week too, rather than waiting. Hope that your dc give you a lovely day today and that you are able to enjoy lots of hugs together. Continuing to pray for you.

Praying for the Dippies and all on this thread, this morning.

We survived the party. Whew!

God bless
