eve all. We have been to see mil, she islooking so, so thin. I just pray that she wont suffer. Sil got upset when we eventually got 5 ins on our own as I was leaving but about h moving out. She is not impressed.

Going to leave my mums at 7a.m to get back for church - yawn.

I have nothing to make meals with this week, not a clue when I going to go shopping eithrer. Sorry not really a prayer request is it. Just rambling on.

MaryBS · 11/03/2007 07:28

LWTG {hugs}. Sounds like a prayer request to me, and you are in my prayers.

CD - I am glad to report back that the cake was yummy!

As for my service last night, well, where 2 or 3 are gathered ... and one of them was a bit of a surprise, the DH of a lady who goes to church, who turned up to "see what it was all about", and apparently went away saying "it made him think". Which is a result in my book!

I could do with a prayer or 2. I'm not proving very good at forgiving someone... and I don't want to have it out with them because I hate confrontation. I'd rather forgive and forget...

To quote from my own words:

"They came looking for you, with soldiers carrying weapons, because they were afraid of you. Yet all they had to fear was your love. And you were betrayed by love, by the kiss of a man you knew as a friend. Peter sought to protect you with violence, but your way is not the way of the sword. How many times have we betrayed a friend by our words and actions? When we?ve spread malicious gossip, when we?ve favoured one friend over another, when we?ve said one thing to their face and another behind their back? How can we therefore condemn Judas for his betrayal?

Dearest Jesus, teach us to value our friends. Let us treat them with honour and integrity. By the power of the Holy Spirit help us to extend that same courtesy to our enemies, so that we will prove faithful to your word and not betray you in the manner of Judas."

MaryBS · 11/03/2007 17:20

... and the theme for today is "unless we become as little children"

I've just had a mud fight with my 7yo DD and 2 10yo girls!

Haven't had so much fun for a long time

Notquitegrownup · 11/03/2007 21:24

Hi ladies

Could I put in a request for prayer please? I'm ridiculously tense and stressed out at the moment (dh building cupboards all weekends; ds1 getting overexcited about his birthday; ds2 joining in being equally excited for no reason!) My sense of humour has vanished and I am a very grumpy mummy atm.

God bless all

mumtogusnalbie · 12/03/2007 08:58

Good morning all - just popping in to say sorry that I have not been around for a couple of days. My puter at home is not working and it is really frustrating! I am at work today so able to let you all know.

Am still praying for everyone, I am sure that God knows who needs him at the moment.

Please don't forget about me and I will try and get the puter sorted asap!!

Before I go - could you all please continue to pray for my ministers son who has just finished his second chemotherapy treatment. He has started to balloon (he did this 3 years ago when he went through this before) and has now lost all of his hair. He is feeling really poorly at the moment and his mum is really finding things tough. I know you will all pray for him and his family find much comfort in this thought.

Thanks

xxxx

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 12/03/2007 19:30

evening everyone. Very quiet round here today. Hope everyone is ok.

PandaG · 12/03/2007 19:32

Hello all

sorry, not been around for a few days, had a busy day at school on Friday, and then had my parents up for the weekend, and DD is 5 today!

I have been praying for you, and will continue to do so. No time to mention you all now, but you in my prayers.

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 12/03/2007 19:35

29/29 Vision

God Works the Night Shift
The Ultimate Comeback, p. 105-106

Scripture Reading
?The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever?? Deuteronomy 29:29

Did you know that God works the night shift?

On ?that night? for Esther and countless Jews living under the power of the Persian Empire , things looked bad, as if it where the beginning of the end. Needless to say, they discovered God's working hours the following day.

We are talking about a God who created the world in just one day. Just imagine what might happen if He were to stay up all night? He crafts comebacks and miraculous turnarounds even while we toss and turn in despair over our circumstances. God has the final say, and He does His best work in secret.

Even if you have 20/20 vision, you cannot see what is going on in heaven's throne room. You can't see into the dark unknown. But God has ?29/29? vision! We can see this in today's scripture.

God can work in the dark?in fact he does His best work in our darkest times. Surely he can change your ?bad night? into a good day?He did it for Esther. He will do it for you! Remember Esther chapter 8 begins with the words, ?On that day??? One of the last verses of chapter 8 of Esther states: ?The Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day?!

Did you read that? ?A good day.? Now, lets go write the end of your story.

Prayer Lord, I can't see through my darkness, but you can! You have the ability to see the secret things and the wisdom of when to reveal your secrets. I'm sorry for trying to take over. Lord, I rejoice in the knowledge that you are always working for me, even as I toss and turn. Thank you for your everlasting love! Amen

Seemed quite apt - to me anyway.

Thanks

PenelopePitstops · 12/03/2007 20:40

Hi everyone, sorry I havent been on all weekend, went home and didnt get acces to tghe internet much. Had a great weekend catching up with family and even went to church. This was great and also a lent study session was really good.
Praying for you all and hope the future looks brighter for us all coming towards easter.
Praying for everyone

roseylea · 12/03/2007 20:51

hi everyone!

LWTG that was a lovely, inspiring post. Thank you!

Well I have got a really really really sore throat! It hurts to swallow, to yawn, to speak...you get the idea. Please could you pray for a swift healing?

God bless xxx

MaryBS · 13/03/2007 06:38

I agree, LWTG that was lovely! How are things with you?

RL - praying for your sore throat, and that it doesn't develop into anything else!

Podmog - praying for your situation at church, and that your vicar has enough sense to see past any accusations and realise what a lovely person you are! (He probably does anyway!)

MTGAA - praying for your minister's son and for strength for him and his family. Please keep us informed on how he is doing. God's blessings rain down on them.

NQGU - hope and pray the grumpiness is gone and you can relax in God's love.

I'm still struggling with forgiveness. I broke down and cried in front of a friend yesterday. Its a situation that's bothering me and I don't know how to confront it. Plus I'm struggling for childcare over the Easter period.

Please pray for FIL. He has really bad gout, but has been told to stop taking his tablets because his kidneys have started to fail. He has been at the Drs 3 times in the past week. He is not feeling at all good

MaryBS · 13/03/2007 06:39

Oh, and FA, I didn't forget you!!! I prayed last night for you, I hope work wasn't as bad as you were dreading. How did it go? Take care of you and that bump!

fannyannie · 13/03/2007 09:11

No it wasn't as bad as I was dreading - had a pretty good shift actually.

Now I just need some prayers this morning that we can buy the new washing machine on credit at Currys - it's all going to be down to my Credit Check (which in theory should be fine - but you never know with these things).

Notquitegrownup · 13/03/2007 10:21

Good morning all.

Many thanks for your prayers. They really helped and I feel much less growly. Dss are calmer today too, though your prayers for ds1 and his struggles with friends (or lack of them) at school would help a lot. Thank you.

MTGAA - praying for your minister's son.

FA - good to 'see' you. Praying for you in your last few weeks to ml.

Mary - praying for your fil - poor him. I know that gout is terribly painful - like acute toothache in the feet or legs - and not to be able to take anything must be driving him mad. Have you looked into any alternative remedies? (Thinking that even if they don't work, taking a little homeopathic remedy might help him to feel that he is doing something, and so ease his frustration/allow his natural defences to kick in.) Praying for you and for a real dollop of grace to forgive and to find peace again.

Hurrah for baby Pudmog. 15oz!! Praying for protection for you at Church and for a healing spirit for those who are stirring all of this up again.

Hi PPS and RL. How's that throat?

God bless all.

sleepysooz · 13/03/2007 11:37

Hia all, sorry not been around last week, been busy busy busy!, ds1 recieved a bronze medal at the weekend, karate union of great britain central championships, we are sooooo proud of him, thank the good lord for his safety in this dangerous sport (can be in competitions) st johns ambulance people were fantastic, must have dealt with over 50 injuries!

marybs - hope you are not sad today and have found childcare for easter, if I lived closer your dc would be welcome to stay at our madhouse!

cd and bm - glad you have had a brill week, the weather has been lovely, spring has sprung! we sometimes go to Dunoon in spring, its a lovely time of the year to view the lochs!

lwtg - I am praying so hard for your family, how much more can you take, your last post was lovely and I'm glad you are having moments of normalness! inbetween lots of sadness!

What a beautiful sunny day so we are off to the park then pre-school play, then I'm off to work till 10pm so another busy but pleasant day ahead. Thank you lord for my relatively manageable life atm, I'm grateful!

fannyannie · 13/03/2007 11:54

well we've been to Currys - and seen the washing machine that we want........unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately - I guess it depends on how you look at it) we were turned down for credit......so DH is going to be hand washing the clothes until we've got the money together (we reckon we can do it in about 1-2 weeks if we're lucky) to buy it outright.

Look out for a thread from me later on encouraging/begging people to bid on my stuff on ebay - going to have a MEGA listing session this afternoon to try and bolster the washing machine fund.

CaptainDippy · 13/03/2007 12:23

Well - last few hours with the fantastic bobsmum family. It's been a great week and the Dipppies have all really enjoyed themselves - It has been a fab and much-needed break - Thank you Lord for the Bobettes!!

Mary - Praying for you as you try to forgive sweetie. I know how hard it can be and I pray God's Grace can fill you at this time.... Praying for your FIL too - sounds horrid, praying for a release in some of his suffering ....

NQSGU - Sorry you are feeling a wee bit grumpy right now - sending you vibes and praying for an uplifting in your spirits and lots of renewed energy.....

PandaG - Happy Birthday to your DD for yesterday!! Hopw you had a fab day. What did you do?

Podmog - Great stuff on DS2's weight gain! Go you!! Praying hard for you on the church front - praying God gives you clarity and wisdom.....

Praying for your sore throat Rosey - How is it today?

Hello Sooz!! Glad stuff is managable atm - and Well Done to your DS1 on the bronze medal - you must be proud....

FA - @ being turned down for credit on the washing machine - praying you'll be able to get one soon, sounds really pants for you atm. [[[hugs]] Praying hard - and for the work situation as well - You've got a lot on your plate, esp with the pregnancy - Praying you find time to rest in the Lord hon. God hold you close.

DD1 definitely has nits - yuk! Hoping that she hasn't contaminitated everyone in this lovely household - Great way to repay such wonderful hospitalility, eh!!? Bum. Apart from that, all is great here in Bonny Scotland - sad to be leaving today; but all good things and all that .....

See you when I am back on the Sunny South Coast!!

Please could you all say a prayer for my family. We lost my step father on Friday to cancer. Special prayers for my Mum and also my Nana (Stepfather's mum).

He went very peacefully.

Also I am going for a second interview at a firm just up the road tomorrow. Job sounds ideal. So fingers crossed.

PenelopePitstops · 13/03/2007 18:51

Hi JBW, dont really know what to say but wanted you to know I had read your post. Sorry for your loss and I will pray for you and your family at this difficult time.
God bless to all

PenelopePitstops · 13/03/2007 18:51

roseylea · 13/03/2007 19:14

Hello all!

JBW i will pray for you and all your family as you grieve.

FA, hope you can get a washing machine. Hvae you thought about either renting one or buying second hand? Ours is a magnificent brute and we bought it second hand, v. cheap, 4 yrs ago.

Oh mary, [[[hugs]] to you. It sounnds like the Lord is wanting to work deeply in you re. forgiveness and it can be so hard...

CD happy homecoming!

WEll my throat is a bit better today but still pretty painful. On the plus side we have raised over £100 for Comic RElief already at work through our various Fair Trade things - hooray! IT's been so much fun and the kids have been fabulous - so generous ands intelligent in understanding why it's important to get involved with these thinfs. The Library has been the coolest place in the school this week, which is so nice!!!

Also this pm I'm meeting with a friend to do a bible study on finding your life purpose - very timely! - I'm really looking forward to it but also a bit nervous as it involves opening up and being v. honest as regards spiritual struggles, etc - eeeekkk!

See you lovely lot soon!

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 13/03/2007 20:39

Dont know what to say really. Dh has started moving stuff out. we really need to sort bank accounts but can't because it is overdrawn so can't change to single person accounts. How is this ever going to work out?
