she may have cancer, im finding it very very difficult

Notquitegrownup · 22/03/2007 11:12

A big hug for you Kitty, and special prayers for both you and your Mum at this time. Praying that the staff looking after her will be wise and caring in their approach to her, and praying that God will hold you all especially close at this time.

God bless.

PandaG · 22/03/2007 11:28

Morning all

Good to see so many people here today already. I am praying for you all, particularly for Kitty's mum.

I'm in the middle of another busy week at school, was disco last night, and is coffee afternoon tomorrow. I'm enjoying being involved, but it is busy!

harrisey · 22/03/2007 12:07

Hi ladies - still coping with no internet at home, but MIL has offered her laptop until we can get ours replaced, which is good.
Things are moving on well for us, we should get the car back next week.
Please would you join in praying for us on Sunday as the children will be edicated and dh and I will be baptised at last!

KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 22/03/2007 13:33

thakyou NQSGU and pandaG, i appreciate your thoughts and prayers xx

Notquitegrownup · 22/03/2007 13:43

You are welcome, Hon. Do let us know how things go.

MaryBS · 22/03/2007 17:35

Kitty - praying for your mum... keep us informed please, we'll keep praying for her.

Harrisey - so exciting for you, being baptised! Glad things seem to be falling into place, albeit slowly

Podmog - praying for you and your family - esp. your DS!

RL/CD - no I don't know that hymn, sounds lovely though! Its not as bad as it all sounds, in that I've got time to do it, I THINK. Essay, Reflection and Study Outline have to be in 21 May. Sermon isn't till 15 April. Emmaus group doesn't start until 18 April.

And RL - a wedding! I love weddings! Am praying for your mum also - let us know how she gets on!

CD - glad you liked my prayer! I find it really uplifting composing prayers, I sort of pray them and feel them as I write them!

I spent a couple of hours on the Reflection last night. I need one more photo possibly, and I've some more prayers to write, to fit the photos, possibly some reflective thoughts too, not sure yet... its made me so much more aware of how beautiful God's creation is!

I've got tomorrow off - funeral of the lady from church in the morning, seeing Ed Psych tomorrow for DS. And Monday, its the adoption, so I'll be going to that too. So there are opportunities for rest in there!

roseylea · 22/03/2007 18:46

Hi just a quick one - I've just spoken to mum on the phone - it went really well!

She said she felt amzingly calm (which is exactly what I was praying for her) She got some immediate feedback and it looks good - there's nothing to worry about! (Phew!)

I told her that you were praying for her and she said that she could feel that lots of people were praying for her and that gave her lots of strength. So thank you!

mumtogusnalbie · 22/03/2007 19:21

just popping in quickly to say that I am thinking of everyone and praying for those in need.

Have had a very hectic evening with some friends over straight from school. Have just managed to calm my two down and get them into bed so here goes for some me time - after making the lunch boxes for tomorrow and doing the ironing!!

Have just been paid my bonus from work so have booked for a full body massage and hair cut on Saturday. Boys are going to daddys for the day so roll on Saturday!!

God bless everyone
xxxxx

worzella · 22/03/2007 19:52

Hi everyone - hope you are all OK. Praying for your situations one and all.

Life with me seems to still be full of unnecessary stress - mostly self-induced due to me feeling particularly negative at the moment and so everything seems so hard. No real reason ( except for 3 children under 6!) and a bathroom fitting that has caused a few problems. Trivial really but can you pray for the plumber when we call him to say that we're not happy with the tap. It seems so unimportant but I'm having difficulty sleeping at the moment and so it must be affecting me.

sleepysooz · 23/03/2007 10:28

Hia everyone!, sorry not been around this last couple of weeks, dh taken time off work to sort the loft out!!!!!!!! it has taken us a whole week, at least there is only 1 layer of things there now, will catch up on thread this weekend sometime, but still lots to do, just came on computer while dh nipped to the garage (gone forever, another job) I wish we didn't hoard (spelling )

Got loads of baby stuff to sell(from twins) now 3.5 where has the time gone!

love and prayers to you all

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2007 10:42

Morning!

Just catching up while DD1 at Pre-School and DD2 sleeping - feeling a bit spaced and sicky today and at the overcast, yukky weather; but glad DH is coming home at lunchtime to take the girls swimming with me!

Glad all is ok with your mum rosey - a definite relief! Praise God!

Podmog - Glad DS is over the worst of his reaction now - What next for him?? How are you doing aside from that sweetie?

KittyLette - Praying for your mum - do keep posting here - we all care about you sweetie! [hugs]

harrisey - Exciting stuff about the Dedications and Baptisms on Sunday - Praying for a wonderful time for all - God Bless your family so much. xx

Mary - Hope the funeral is ok today and the Ed. Psych appt for DS too - Do let us know - Glad you are finding some time for rest, make sure you do, young lady! Praying for the adoption on Monday - All busy, excitng stuff!

MTGAA - @ your massage and haircut tomorrow - You deserve it honey - hope you have a wonderfully indulgent time!

[[hugs] to you Worz - I know what you mean about "unneccesary stresses atm" - someone drove into the side of our car and dented and scraped it while I was out friends last night - and drove off!! More expense .... Praying for things to be "smoother" for you from now on and for your tap to be fixed asap - Our taps in our bathroom (bath) haven't worked for about a month and we've ben filling the bath up with the shower ... No money to get them fixed ..... Praying God grants you some good sleep too sweetie. [hugs]

Hi Sooz!

OP posts:
roseylea · 23/03/2007 11:27

Hi everyone!

Reading and praying for everyone.

I went to see my mum this morning and she is doing really well - so thank you God for answering our prayers!

I have another request...the hospital chaplaincy service here is running a 6 week course to train volunteers to visit patients on behalf of the chaplains (I think I've mentioned it before). Well it was supposed to be an evening course but it's changed to an afternoon one (from 2 - 4 pm - the worst poss. time of day for me!)

I do feel that I should be doing this, but childcare is the issue. Money is pretty tight atm and I'm not sure we can afford to have ds childminded for those hours (as I won't get any pay from this to offset the childcare costs...hmmm). Also we would need to get dd picked up from school and go back to a friend's house for half an hour. I've offered it up to the Lord and said to him, 'if it's your will that I get involved with hospital ministry please provide the way for me to do the training'. So could you pray that God would provide, one way or another, and that if He has other plans for me (i.e. if He doesn't want me to do this) it would become clear and that I'd have peace in laying it down. Thank you!

God bless xxxx

MaryBS · 23/03/2007 11:29

Hmmm... the funeral itself was intensely moving. M. gave a lovely service (considering it was at the crem and not in church - her family didn't want a church service), he summed her up really well, and gave a lovely eulogy he'd written.

Apparently her family went up to him afterwards, saying "It was a travesty", and "didn't sound anything like her" and "some money has gone missing, had the church taken it?". They never even bothered thanking people for coming.

She was a LOVELY lady - shame you can't pick your relatives.

(Funerals are something I may be doing once I'm licensed - heaven help me if I come across someone like that!)

OK, rant over!

CD - sorry you're feeling ill, but YAY at DH coming home to take you all swimming! Enjoy!

Worzella - much sympathy for the lack of sleep. I'm suffering atm too - I've got dark circles under my eyes, and they are NOT attractive! Praying for some rest and serenity for you!

RL - glad your mum is OK! Praise God!

MTGAA - enjoy your pampering, I LOVE doing that sort of thing.

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2007 11:43

Will pray rosey - God knows what is best ....

@ lady's family Mary - like you say, "you can't choose your family" - I am glad M's eulegy (sp!!?) was so moving and true - shame they couldn't see it too - Praying God would open their eyes....

Hi everyone

back safe and sound from Bristol, had a lovely time catching up with an old friend.

Praise God for He has answered our prayers - family friend is now out of hospital in Florida (had a kidney stone) and hoping to be on the cruise ship tomorrow! Thank You all so much for your prayers

Too much tv? - we drove past the power station on the way into Nottingham coming home and ds pipes up "Thats where Homer works", hmmm.....

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 23/03/2007 21:05

ok life is pants, pants, pants.

Dh has had his license taken off him for 12 motnhs. So now he can't see the kids as easily, can't carry on with his counselling, I will have to do allll things for the children now - I am going to be knackered.

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 23/03/2007 21:16

Also supposed to be going to south wales tomorrow in preparation for mil's funeral but ds has terrible diarrhoea been at least 20 + times today so putting him in the car for 3+ hours is a no no

fannyannie · 23/03/2007 21:24

ooo just realised I haven't given an update for AGES!!!!

DH and I - well we're getting along well - nothing romantic (ie hugs, kisses etc etc) but at least there's no arguing or bickering - so that's good.

He's also TOTALLY come round to the idea of DC(S)3 so I can witter away about pg things without worrying about how he's feeling.

On that note - had my 28 week check-up with the mw today (well I'm actually 29+3 - but they couldn't fit me in last week). Everything is fine, blood pressure had gone up a little bit - but seen as though I've had low blood pressure nothing to worry about at all (probably now what it should be for me LOL).

Only 'problem' (and I know I've got plenty of time) is that Baby T is currently footling breech - head up under my ribs feet straight down in my groin.....my biggest fear for this pg (once getting over the DH issue of course) was that this one would be breech and I'd end up with a CS. So although I know there's plenty of opporutniyt for him to turn I can't help but worry.

God has been good this week - last Monday (12th march) our Washing Machine died, went to Curry's the following day and they turned us down for credit. DH has since been hand washing the clothes.....BUT yesterday he went to Curry's and paid - in cash - for our brand spanking new "every trick in the book" washing machine which will be delivered on Monday . It's going to mean a bit of money juggling this month - but it felt good knowing

A) we'd bought something new and it wasn't on credit

b) the money juggling will be from having bought something new and not because we're trying to decide which creditor will take the least drastic action if we don't pay them.

Work - well it's pretty much the same........I've got 5 nights left (including tonight) before I leave (Next Sunday being my last night) and TBH it can't come soon enough.

Anyhow, better go - I need to make sure I've got all my stuff together for work.

CaptainDippy · 24/03/2007 09:43

Popping in quickly as DH's friend will be here in a sec and I need to go and be available to take the DD's as they are widening the entrance to our driveways, which is ridiculously small!!!!!!

Feeling knackered and spaced, but ok.....

that DS is poorly and you might not be able to go the funeral LWTG - [[[hugs]] to you, lots of praying .....

GREAT to "see" you FA!!!!! Glad it is going ok - can't believe you are 28 weeks!!!!! Great news about washing machine! Praying your bubba turns soon - my Bubba (I'm 35 weeks) is oblique - so pray mine would turn too!!

Erm.

Gotta go, but will pop back later I am sure - have lovely w/e's all - Many [[hugs] and prayers .....

Flying visit from me too! Please pray for a lovely lady from church. Yesterday she was told she had advanced breast cancer and cancer of the lymphatic system. It doesn't look very good

Hi FA, and thanks for the update. Will pray that God continues to work in your marriage and draw you together!

Praying that all the babies get into position for their foray into this world!

LWTG - praying for you as always. How is DS?

CCM - LOL @ DS, its funny when they come out with stuff like that!

I mentioned at a lenten talk about Christians with depression, and I mentioned this web thread in particular. I had a lady come up to me at church, to say she was praying for my friends with depression - so there you go! God's love is reaching out to us all, from everywhere!

Notquitegrownup · 24/03/2007 11:11

Good morning all

LWTG (Is there no way that dh can get a bus to his counselling - or that his counsellor transfers him to someone nearer? Seems so important that he carries on with that.) In the meantime, give yourself a large CD hot chocolate with marshmellows. Mega prayers for you, Hon.

Mary - prayers for your lady at church. How sad.

Special prayers for you all.
