Thanks for your prayers re: emetophobia (fear of sickness) it contributes to alot of my panic attacks, which caused problems going out and about, there is more to it than just a fear of sickness and alot of other anxieties that don't help, so please keep praying, I know it doesn't sound bad, but it feels horrible!

Sorry can I have another prayer request, 4 parents from school have recently spoken to me about my DS1 11yo being bullied at school, one parent even came to our house with her concerns, luckily each time my DS did not retaliate (thank god so much) because he can give as good as he gets, (he is no angel himself sometimes) but he obviously has listened to my views on fighting, or even worse he is just so petrified! so I feel a visit to school after a covering letter is important and alot of TLC for DS - it might explain all the verbal abuse I have received from him this last 3 weeks!

mumtogusnalbie · 20/02/2007 19:17

Hi NSTM - thanks for the offer of putting an advert on your freecycle but it was actually a tri-scooter so wouldn't fold and would be quite bulky to post. I am lucky enough to be in an old rented farm cottage with 3 acres of old dairy farm attached hence the ground gets quite muddy and is very uneven - not really suitable for a microscooter. He needs something with fairly big wheels. Really appreciate the offer though.
Sleepysooz - sorry to hear that your son has been bullied at school. I will pray for you both that the situation gets sorted out. I am interested to hear that you suffer from panic attacks because I have suffered from them for the last 15 years and have never really met anyone else that also has them. I find it very hard to socialise and can not eat in restaurants or anywhere new (I even had an attack at my cousins house over Sunday dinner after church). This illness may not sound like much but it can be really debilitating and it definately rules my life. Will be very interested to know how your hypnotherapy goes - I tried it many years ago but really didn't get the right therapist and it sort of put me off. My doctor now prescribes diazapam on repeat prescription which does at least give me the confidence to know that I can deal with an attack if one comes on. Prior to this, I have ended up in A & E on several occassions - i think they got fed of seeing me!

Hello to everyone else - hope all is well with everyone and God Bless you all.

CaptainCaveman · 20/02/2007 20:44

Ahh, evening all!

I hope you are all feeling reasonably ok what with one thing and another. If not I'll give you some of my jolliness - yup, its still here .

I have no idea where the days are going? It was my birthday last Thursday so we had a few nights out - man I can't cope with more than 2 out on the trot now!! Fab lovely time, and especially lovely for ds to sing happy birthday to me!

Prayers needed for dsis though. She has stopped going to treatment/counselling and spiralling further into debt. The bailiffs came round to her house this morning as she owes £600 in council tax arrears . She is doing nothing about trying to stop drinking and I feel very confused about her and for her. She is so ill that she cannot make a decision to save her life.
Mum has come over tonight and is bailing her out with the money she owes (for the umpteenth time). Dsis has said she wants to be sectioned as she can't get well on her own. Poor little dneice has no idea mummy is so ill .
I've offered to take dneice in if dsis ends up in hospital.

Please pray for my dsis that God will guide her towards the treatment which will help her to get well, and that He protects her from the devil as he tries to drag her down with her addiction. Please pray also for my dneice who keeps being sick every morning (I'm sure this is a stress reaction). Once she has been sick dsis won't take her to nursery, hence dneice gets to stay at home.

love and prayers to all, I've missed you!!

roseylea · 20/02/2007 20:51

eeek CCM I'm for you, your sis and neice and everyone else involved.

Yes of course I will pray for you all.

CaptainCaveman · 20/02/2007 20:56

Life is just crackers sometimes, so I'll just hold on tight to my faith in God and I know He will guide me through.
Happy to say I'm still making time to really appreciate life now I'm out of counselling and coming off meds!!

How's your Crohns doing Rosey?

sleepysooz · 20/02/2007 22:26

CC - Prayers are on the way for your dsis and dneic and of course yourself, it takes alot of strength to be on the support side of things.

mtgn - thank you for your support, you sound as if you have had it pretty bad on the panic attack side of things, I don't get pain with mine like I know some people do, I just literally can't breath or faint! You are right though it does effect going out, cause sometimes there are no warning signs, I usually get them when I am in my more relaxed mode, (even relaxing on mumsnet) its so frightening. I do also suffer from depression, but I don't have medication as I can't find a suitable one, and I have 3yo twins to look after, and DH job problems so I have to be well to look after them, although now they are 3 it is easier!

MaryBS · 21/02/2007 07:43

Just popping in to say "Hi!" and sorry for not being around much .

Last night was the pancake party at church. The previous night I had a tutorial. We've been given less demanding essay titles (the last lot were degree standard!). I may run them by you RL, if I can, see what you think, please?

Praying for you all, sorry I'm not spending more time here!

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 21/02/2007 08:12

I've got an interview today, please pray that if its the right job I will get it.

Also dh is going to look at a bedsit on Fri.

I know my problems are miniscule compared to some but could just do without living in limbo land and for life to move on one way or another.

roseylea · 21/02/2007 08:34

Just popping in very quickly t say hi and to let you know that I am praying for you all!

Set the alarm for 6.30 today and had a wonderful 'quiet time' - it was soooooooooo good. I'm going to do this for Lent with the hope of keeping it up all the time.

CCM I am now down to 5 mg prednisolone! I started on 30, 5 weeks ago. So I've come down v. quickly. Please pray that my body will be able to cope! Thank God for continued strength so far as I've been reducing the dosage.

Also please cuold you pray - today is v. busy and after work I'm going to as steering meeting at the town hall to discuss the initiative to become a Fair Trade town. It is such a good thing to be involved in, and I'm really excited about the FT week at work - so I don't know what to ask exactly for prayer requests - just that God will be honoured through this and that our efforts will be fruitful!

I want to post again later and tell you about a big answer to prayer for me personally - but I've got to go and brush the dcs' teeth! A big toothy from me!

PandaG · 21/02/2007 09:16

Morning all

praying for you CCM, and for your niece and Dsis. Hugs honey.

Longway - praying for you for the interview. And that DH makes the right decision re the bedsit. Oh honey, I wish there was more I could do

Mary - good to 'see' you

CD how are you and the bump today?

much love xx

Jockey · 21/02/2007 10:23

Hi, just to let you know, I'm still lurking and praying for you all.

My son (4.5) has just returned to school today after illness and half term and was really upset when I took him in. I just had to leave him with a teacher. Please pray that he settles again this week. (The prayers worked wonders last time - thank you so much!) He keeps saying the day is too long, bless him.

CD - praying for your dsis, and for everyone else on the thread.

Jockey · 21/02/2007 10:27

Sorry that should be CC not CD (praying for dsis). Of course I'm praying for CD too! xxx

Notquitesotiredmum · 21/02/2007 10:56

Good morning all. Praying that lent will be a special time of growth for you all.

CCM - special prayers for your dsis and dneice. Prayers for strength (or for appropriate weakness iyswim) for you and your parents, being there for her. Praying that you are free to love and support her, and to let the burden of worry and concern rest in His hands.

MTGA - specific prayers for a 3 wheeled scooter to appear in your area! Panic attacks are awful, aren't they? I had a very close friend who suffered them, and also had just one myself too. There used to be a support thread, I think on the "Feeling Depressed" thread, for people who suffer from panic attacks - they are more common than you might think.

SS - at you getting them when relaxed! Poor you, Hon! I had mine when very stressed, so at least could see where it was coming from, and what to avoid. at your ds being bullied. Lots of prayers and hugs for him. It sounds as if he has been very grown up in dealing with it so far - and what nice parents to take the initiative like that. Prayers for a quick resolution for you both in this.

LWTG - praying for you for the interview. And that your DH makes the right decision re the bedsit.

Jockey - praying for your ds to settle back into school, happily.

Thank you for your prayers for ds1. He seemed brighter yesterday, though is still reluctant to go to school, so your continued prayers would be appreciated.

God bless all. Good morning PandaG, CD, Mary, Footprints, Mufti and anyone else not mentioned specifically.

CaptainDippy · 21/02/2007 11:04

Hi all!! Just made a "To Do" list and am scared at it's length - mainly stuff for DD1's Party on Sun ..... so busy, busy, busy .....

I am ok - still getting breathlessness, but think iron is slowly kicking in. Not feeling so exhausted, which is good! DH and I ok, but still having lots of BIG arguments - Marriage Course last night was on "Resolving Conflict" - LOL - Think we have a looooong way to go - keep praying ......

Continued prayers for DD2 who is very, very volitile (sp??) atm would be great, finding her behaviour "challenging" (understatement .....)

Also prayers appreciated for a friend of a friend whose husband has just died of cancer. They are only in their late 20's and had been married about 6 yrs - So sad. Prayers for strength, can't imagine what she is going through .....

Praying for concerns about DS being bullied at school Sooz. xx

Fellow Captain - Glad you are still - Do send some my way if you get a second, cheers! Continuing to pray for your DSis - that she has stopped treatment etc - Praying God would guide her back and protection for her DD. Keep us posted. xx

lwtg - Praying for interview today - let us know how it goes ..... Continuing to pray for you and DH too - your problems are not "small". xx

Rosey - Yey to reducing the meds, great stuff - Praise God! Praying for you with you busy time esp with the Fair Trade stuff - absolutely fantastic - Eastbourne got Fair Trade status last year, it was proud moment!

Praying for DS as he settles back into school after half-term and being poorly Jockey, poor mite.

Sorry it's only a whizz-speed post, but list is scaring me!

Hello NQSTM -

OP posts:
weirdbird · 21/02/2007 11:15

Morning all

We saw the Paed for Hannah again on Monday and they have given her a 2nd medication for the reflux and so far she has slept both yesteday and today after feeds, she still is a terror every evening, but that is normal, its so nice to see her smile and generally be awake and happy.

I am still doing well (no PND!), praise God, am rather stressed out over work and money as I am self employed and a lot of my work got back logged while I was so ill for half of last year 9being pregnant), I really need to clear it all but so far havn't been able to because of how ill Hannah has been (not sleeping with it)

We are now in desperate need of the money and I need to do the work so I don't loose any clients as well.

At the same time DH is having a really hard time at work, he commutes for 2 hours every day and we are hardly getting enough sleep because Hannah won't settle in the evenings and keeps us both up with the noise. Simultaneously to this happening at home he had a new boss when he got back from paternity leave, they had moved offices(and left all his things in the old one!!) and given him basicallly a new job in his absence.
So at the point where he really needs extra support and work that is familiar, he is in a strange place, with a unknown boss who so far has been worse than useless supporting him and a new job that he is having to learn from scratch that isn't what he wants to do and is very stressful. The really sad thing is he loved his old job and old boss and really misses both.

I don't know what to do to help him and we are both so tired I am struggling not to be grouchy sometimes.

CaptainDippy · 21/02/2007 12:02

WB - [[[[hugs]]]] Glad that Hannah has been settling between feeds a little, praying that your evenings and nights improve honey - Praying for you all in your household - Praying for God's Peace to be v.real to you all - especially with the sitations with work for you and DH and with financial burdens. You've got a lot on your plate right now sweetie - Are you getting outside help / support??? Your church?? Your friends?? Your family?? Make sure you ask for help cos you sound like you could all do with a little TLC right now - Fab stuff about PND not rearing it's ugly head again so far this time - Praying it may long continue!! Keep being as positive as you can - there is light at the end of the tunnel ...... I only have to look at my DD2 to know that (she was a Rat Bag Baby, but a Beautiful Rat Bag Baby all the same!!! ) Keep posting here honey - we are praying for you!! [[hugs]]

Cooeeey CD - Prayers for you, your dh and dd2 - terrible twos time, isn't it?

Wow WB! Lots of prayers for you and your dh. Amazing isn't it, how the arrival of one tiny little person can be the focus of sooo much chaos!? Praying that things get back on an even keel for you all now.

In haste. God bless.

x

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 21/02/2007 14:21

Interview went well (i think) will know this afternoon whether its a yes, no or may have to postpone decision until all references are in, which for me in terms of child care will be better. So lets just pray that right decision is made.

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 21/02/2007 17:08

didn't get the job although did well in interview so they said, but others had clinic experience and the fact that I can't stay till 6 because of childcare went against me. Thats the second time now they've turned me down bec of childcare. I really don't think their allowed to do that are they.

It really doesn't matter that i've not got it because i've got a job I love but thought that the hours of this one would be better. So why the heck am I sat here crying????

sleepysooz · 21/02/2007 17:16

I agree, they are not allowed to do that, but who wants to work with people that don't accomodate children. Don't be upset, ya know everything that happens is for a reason, good on you having a lovely current job, but first yes you are allowed to be upset, cause it can be overwhelming but tomorrow be happy and congratulate yourself for trying hard and that your interview actually did go brill!

MaryBS · 21/02/2007 19:12

LWTG - its always a disappointment, whether you wanted the job or not {hug}

Very quick visit - just wanted to share my news. M. just phoned - wanted to know if I wanted DD to make her first communion at Easter! If so classes start next week! I've got a big lump in my throat. Its made doubly special by the fact I was received into the church LAST Easter! {tears}

mumtogusnalbie · 21/02/2007 20:03

Hello Everyone!
It's been busy on here today - how do you all find time to put the ocmputer on during the day? On the odd occasion that I have done this my DS1 has hijacked it to play his Lightning McQueen racing game!

LWTGO - sorry to hear you didn't get the job. You are allowed to be upset, like Sleepysooz said, it can be a bit overwhelming when applying for a new job (she says having been in the same on for 18 years!). I pray that you find a job to suit soon. Hope DH finds a besit suitable - is this permanent or just so you can both have some space?

Roseylea - LOL at setting alarm for 6.30! Thats a lie in in my house! Congratulations at reducing your dose of prednisolone. I have a doctors appointment about reducing my dose of paroxetine tomorrow - am hoping she will put me on a liquid dose so I can make very small adjustments at a time. I have reduced to 20mg every other day but can't seem to get any further. Hope your Fair Trade meeting went well tonight and I pray for Gods continuing presence in your Fair Trade work.

Jockey - prayers for your son. I hope he settles back into school quidckly. My DS1 has just started to do full days and he is absolutely shattered - I am so lucky that he is enjoying it!

NQSTM - I will have a look on the "Feeling Depressed" thread for panic attacks. Thanks for that advice. Will continue to pray for your DS1 and school.

CaptainDippy - good luck with the party on Sunday. You really should be taking things easy so enlist as much help as possible! Glad to hear you are no longer feeling as exhaused. How old is you DD2? I will pray for you both and hope that she calms down and God gives you the strength to deal with her behaviour. So sorry to hear about your friends loss of her husband. This is such tragic news and I pray that God will look after her and her family in the coming weeks.

Weirdbird - glad to hear there has been some improvement in your DD's reflux. I pray that this impreovement will continue and that you find the time to get back to work. Sorry to hear about DH's job and I pray that things settle down for him soon.

Hello and God Bless to everyone else I haven't mentioned.

Today has been a good day for us. I have started doing a little cleaning job for my blind friend just to earn a bit of extra money and I was doing that this morning. We haven't had any luck on the scooter front yet. Did manage to persuade the boys father to go halves with me on a new one though if all else fails! Boys went to bed at 6.45 so I now have the rest of the evening to chill! Just about to make a cup of tea and put the tele on! Hope everyone else has a good evening too.

weirdbird · 21/02/2007 21:25

Well thank you for your prayers, I have managed to get a good 5 hours work in today, Hannah is asleep in the evening I am still working and DH has been able to go to bed early....

Praise God for he is good
