I'm here - but off to do some work.

God bless all.

worzella · 10/11/2006 13:02

Hi, not posted for a while but have been reading the thread and praying. Please could you pray for DS2 who ended up in A and E last night after somehow getting a plastic umbrella handle stuck in his mouth. I managed to pull it out but he'd cut the skin under his tongue and it had swollen really badle. We were admitted with a view to him having a general anaesthetic today so they could stitch him back up. However, he saw the consultant today who said it should heal naturally and that it was too swollen to stitch....so now we're home but the poor chap's mouth is really sore and so I'd like prayer for rapid healing and him being able to eat. There's also a risk of infection so if we could pray against that that would be good. Thanks

sleepysooz · 10/11/2006 14:52

CD - love your toilet prayers, but todays, I know being a christian and the morals of putting others before self is right, but this is part of my depression, there has to be a happy medium, of looking after yourself first before you can help others, if you don't look after yourself you arn't able to look after anybody else.

Sorry to ruin a good moral, I believe in them to, I was brought up to love thy neighbour, and treat people how you want to be treated, if I'm not happy the things around me fall apart!

Am I just waffling or what?

sleepysooz · 10/11/2006 15:47

CD, apologies that wasn't meant to sound off, I wasn't critising what you were saying I was just thinking out loud, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings!

PandaG · 10/11/2006 16:33

Hello all, just back from a hectic afternioon at school coffee afternoon, went well so that is great.

TR - praying that you will know if it is God speaking to you in your dreams, and that you find the right person to discuss them with. The course sounds very exciting.

CD, praying that mw trouble is sorted quickly.

Sooz - I do know what you mean, when Jesus said to love our neighbour as we love ourselves, we do have to love ourselves, otherwise we wouldn't therefore love our neighbours! How to do that and put others'needs first can be difficult though...

we are away fro the weekend, to surprise my Mum for her birthday. Please pray for safe travel as the weather is dreadful here!

Hugs to DS2 Worzella - let us know how he gets on

Awwww, worzella, your poor poor DS2 - praying his tongue heals up super fast - must be very, very sore - How is he managing to eat? Poor love - keep us updated - I know the tongue heals v.quickly as there is a good blood supply to that part of the body, which is postive news!

Mmmmmmmmm, I think I would feeling pretty uncomfortable too, Podmog - It's like the difference between meeting in a church hall and actually meeting in the church, I guess - I am sure there's plenty of people who would feel uncomfortable if that happened. Think you should chat to the organiser and tell them how you feel .... Praying .....

Feelings not hurt at all Sooz - totally agree, can't look after others if you're not looking after yourself - I just thought it was good food for thought - I think there are times when others have to come before ourselves - even if it means a cost to ourselves, iykwim!!!!? ... but most of the time, you need to keep yourself well-serviced to be of service ..... absolutely - The rest of the prayer is good though, no!!!?

Going to help DH get DD's out of the bath .......

Handed in my essay on Mon and think it was OK anyway!! Now working for the 2 x 2500 word and 1 x 1250 word ones all due on 4th Dec!!! 3 WEEKS!
If you could pray for dh and I as we meet these deadlines, we'd most appreciate it!!

longwaytogo · 11/11/2006 07:56

harrisy good to see you and praise God another essay out of the way.

worzella lots of cuddles in order then - good excuse not to do any house work

dratherbdiggin just trying to work out who you are brain isn't working but glad your feeling a bit better.

cd aghhh at mw why are all these health professionals the same.

podmog its hard isn't it I used to go to slimming world at the masonic lodge never felt all that comfortable and because it was a service i paid for I always felt like I was funding the place - not that it needs any extra funds.

Have been thinking lately any one heard anything off nanau don't think she's posted this month or last part of last month. Anyone got an email add and could drop her a note?

hospital rang yesterday while we were out and asked if ds could go in on mon. We didn't get in till 5.10 and everyone had gone home by then so don't know if he can go or no, rang the ward and they didn't know and said the place could have been offered to someone else if we didn't get back in touch so as there's no way of contacting anyone over w/e then it looks like he's not going

CaptainDippy · 11/11/2006 10:28

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 16:01

Bore da lwtg, does that help. How are you doing, btw, I have been thinking about you.
First thing wasn't so much an interview as a talk and I have to phone to get an interview and then go through a LONG screening process and won't be starting until February. 2nd interview is in about 10 minutes, and that is an interview, but to be honest with you, I'm pretty ambivalent. If I don't get it then I get to spent time with my dd (which I love) and if I do get it then it's extra cash and a bit of "head space", which I could do with. But at the end of the day, 'dratherbdiggin. Dh has just brought me a cup of tepid tea, bless-him!

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 18:09

Aaaargh, interview was scary and they asked really hard questions - What's your management experience- "well, i manage 4 small people, one large, a cat and a couple of snails" My mind went blank inone of the questions and one of the interviewers (There were THREE) minds went blank over a question. I felt like screaming "Aaaaaaargh, I know I can do this job, stop asking me stupid questions!" but that wouldn't have been very professional now, would it?

CaptainDippy · 11/11/2006 19:39

Glad it is over for you honey!! Don't underestimate yourself, I am sure they could see how fabulous and capable you are honey!! Let us know when you hear any more .....

Have been to our local small animal zoo this afternoon, lots of fun, but v.v.v.tired now. Off to bed soonish, me thinks .......

Consultant has rung this eveing ds is to go in on Mon [scared] but i'm sure it will be fine, just not looking forward to having to make him keep him on chair rest for a week due to cathetar.

texasrose · 11/11/2006 20:41

hello all!

Just a quick hi really, just want to let you know that I'm thinking of you and praying for you all...

LWTG I'll be praying for your ds (and you) - doesn't sound easy.

I'll be praying for you too DRBD! I knolw what it's like balancing the whole question of returning to work. I'm praying that you'll find what is best for all of you. Why would you rather be digging anyway?!!!

CD did you get your mocha? or childfree time?

Well I am translating Greek tonight in preparation for my course. I'm going to be spending a whole year reading and working on four chapters of the Bible! Am I mad????!!!!! Why am I doing this to myself???!!!! I'm sure I'll ask myself that many times...!!!!! (I'm not one to take the easy life....don't think I ever will be...)

God bless!

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 22:16

Oh, don't get me started on digging. It's like therapy without having to talk to someone (pulling all those deep roots out, the smell of the earth, woodlice and worms), and you get fit and lose weight in the process (down 1 dress size already), and at the end of it all there is lovely home grown organic veg etc. . . .

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 22:16

I meant seeing the woodlice and worms, not smelling them, thought I'd clarify

MaryBS · 11/11/2006 22:21

Just wanted to say "Goodnight all and God bless, may you all have a peaceful Sunday tomorrow!"

TR - so tell us more about this course? Didn't realise you'd made a decision????

LWTG - praying for you and your family and your DS in particular {hug}

Marg, my reader friend, emailed me to say that her dad has gone into hospital, so if you could please pray for him.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 09:38

Morning!! My execma is REALLY bad, so if you could pray for that, that would be fab, thank you!!

Quickly posting before church .....

Praying hard for tomorrow lwtg - glad you got the slot in the end, waiting is agony - Praying for DS and for you. Do let us know how it all goes. [hugs] xxxx

No I never got my Mocha Texas - all went a bit mad in my house. Maybe next Sat!!!?? Enjoy your Greek, sounds great and will get those rusty cogs in your brain turning, eh!!?

Mary - praying for Marg's dad - keep us posted honey .... How are you doing??

Gotta go, lots to dooooo .............

OP posts:
MaryBS · 12/11/2006 09:49

Hi CD - praying for that eczema! I have a few patches of eczema, but not as bad as you! I also have psoriasis (mostly in my hair, so not totally obvious), so its a bit of a double whammy! What do you use on yours, and does it work?

How am I? Can anyone explain to me why, if I'm asked if I'm scared of dying, I say "no", but I'm getting so worked up about meeting with my tutor on Tuesday? As if meeting with my maker is somehow easier? Its been 23 years since I've had to write an essay, and 25 years since I've had to write one where "there was no right answer"... until now. Its not that I'm worried that they might need improving, its that I'm worried I know longer have the thought processes or the ability to write a successful essay, especially on the chosen topics!

Sorry "me me me" whinge over! Like my first sermon, its another "first" hurdle to get over. Hopefully I'll calm down after Tuesday...

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 12:30

[[[[[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]]]]]] Bless you Mary!! You poor thing, I am sure the meeting will go absolutely fine - It has been a looooong time since you have done any of this sort of stuff, you are bound to feel nervous and under-confident honey. Praying for you and more [[[hugs]]] xxxx

I have to admit, only a strong steriod cream will help my excema when I get a flare up, I'm loathe to use it, but needs must, I guess!!? Unfortunately, can't find my tube atm so have to find time to go to the drs tomorrow ....

Anyway, duty calls .......
