CD - Thanks for new thread, you do a wonderful job.

Thanks for everyones prayers recently, have been feeling in a calm but strange place, everything seems on the outside, (if you see what I mean) at least not sooo upset!

HV visit was successful, Nursery Nurse coming Thursday, Doctors Friday so hopefully see the back of this phase in the near future!

My prayers are with all suffering I have read on this new thread!

Love to you all!

worzella · 31/10/2006 21:37

Wierdbird - praying for you, the baby and the medical staff involved... hope you get the right advice and treatment

CD - this is a really encouraging thread - well done for keeping it going with a summary etc.

I'm writing this whilst listening to John Humphrys talking to the Archbishop about being in search of God... hoping and praying that it's a balanced programme and that Rowan Williams comes across well...

mufti · 31/10/2006 21:48

CC - good thought - i hope i see her again, i should have said that was already an improvement , she told me that was the first time she had made it through the door, she had previoulsy not even managed that.

PandaG · 31/10/2006 23:02

Feeling tired and a bit this morning, no real reason, just one of those mornings, I guess!!? Well, I do know part of the reason for the tiredness (apart from being PG, of course!!?) - DH and stayed out at a friend's til 12am last night!!! Was lovely and we had yummy Chinese Take Away - Scrummo!!

Mars - Praying that Dave's PET scan shows good results today - do let us know. Praying hard for Mandy and the boys as they attend Simon's funeral today. It'll be a really tough day, but a huge hurdle to get over and a definite step towards acceptance, letting go and healing for them too. xxxx

Morning all

Just to add my thanks for keeping things together CD. This thread is really important to me too. It's sooooo good to be part of a praying community again.

I always remember Lyndon Bowring talking about his grandmother, who prayed for him three times a day every day of his life, and what an amazing gift that had been for him.

Praying for you all this morning.

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 10:45

Hi NQSTM! I remember LB saying that too - I thought it was amazing! What a fantastic grandmother - wish I could be even a tiny bit like her!!

longwaytogo · 01/11/2006 10:53

morning all or is it afternoon been up since 5.30 (little horrors)

showdown was ok she put friends phone no's in my phone was a total misunderstanding between both of us i guess.

Notquitesotiredmum · 01/11/2006 11:45

Hi LWTG - so glad that all worked out OK. Can't begin to imagine what those teenage years are going to be like yet (though I occasionally peep on the Teenage thread to start to prepare! Ugh!)

Hi CD. Did you hear LB (formerly Director of CARE, which campaigns for a christian stance on political and social issues, for those who don't know) tell of how his lovely Welsh grandmother was getting a little confused in her later years and so proudly announced at chapel that "he was in charge of all of the pornography in London!" Bless!

(You can't have been at the same lecture that I was at though. You'd have been about 4 at the time!!!! Agh!!!!

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 12:21

Yes - I have heard that about the pornography - made me PMSL, bless her!! My great auntie is going a wee bit loopy, bless her and one time when I went to see her, I was talking about my DH and she asked me (in front of 2 nurses!) "Which husband is that!!?" I was only 20 at the time and had just got married - goodness knows what those nurses thought of me!!!? What yr did LB say that then and I'll tell you exactly how old I was!!

lwtg - Glad the showdown was ok too - also dreading the teenage yrs - parrticularly having two girls so far - eeeek!

Soooo tired, going out in a min - to prevent the girls from killing each other ....

katzg · 01/11/2006 12:34

Thanks for the round up CD, will try and keep up this month but i doubt it.

Can you all please pray that God does have a plan for me, i think i might be beginning to see it, but i need help. There are rumours at work which if true would pave the way to the future i dearly want, i'm hoping this is God's plan.

Made it to church on sunday, which was great, was lovely to run the infant aged children's sunday club, and am hoping to get DD2 to go to creche next week so that i can sit through a whole service by myself! woohoo!

katzg · 01/11/2006 12:35

PandaG - i keep meaning in invite you round for coffee. i'm free monday mornings and thursday afternoon.

MaryBS · 01/11/2006 15:17

Weirdbird - how are you today? Praying that everything is OK for you and baby.

2NL- praying for your friend. It must be hard for both her and you.

Katz - glad you had a good time at church

Sooz - glad things are calm for you at the moment. Still praying for you.

MaryBS · 01/11/2006 15:24

My brother is now in Iraq - arrived today, for the next 7 months. Please pray for him and the people he'll be helping...

texasrose · 01/11/2006 16:04

Hi all!

Just popping in quickly really! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone here for praying. It's lovely to be part of such a supportive praying group!

Also just wanted to say - I'm not sure if I've already posted this but the colleague at work who was having issues has actually left. It was a bit and I felt so frustrated that I wasn't able to help her work through her problems. So at the moment and for the next month I'm on my own in the library and it is busy! I'm organising study skills / uni prep sessions for 6th formers and coursework catchup sessions for yr 11s, a Fair Trade food day in a couple of weeks and doing book reviews in assemblies. All on top of all the other stuff...I was helping one yr 10 with his R.E. coursework today and a girl kept asking for help so when I asked her what she wanted, she had a lolly that was particularly difficult to unwrap and she wanted me to do it for her!

Anyway, that's my job. I am v. blessed to have it and it is great fun. I wear a lanyard around my neck with WWJD on it and loads of kids ask what it means.

Mary, I'll be praying for your brother.

Love and blessings to everyone here XXX

Praying for you all. Its so good we have this thread - I feel like I am really part of a little community who have so much in common but are also incredibly diverse - yet we are all looking out for one another and our many needs and hopes and prayers.

Could I ask for prayers for us - we had bad colds last week and we are both still very run down. Dh is getting behind with his college work a bit and has gone to bed already tonight, all of my family are asleep apart from me and its only 7.30.

Dh has been suffering from depression for a few months, is being treated but is still very tired, on quite a short fuse some of the time, not very good at looking after the kids alone, and needs a LOT of sleep. I am carrying the can for this to a certain extent - all the mornings are mine, a lot of the bedtimes, just the general organisation of the household which he is usually so good with. He's decided to pop in to the counselling service at college tomorrow to see if a bit of talking to someone could be helpful. So if you could pray for Mr Harrisey, and for strength for me, we would both really appreciate it. We have had a tough few years with ill health and other issues, and we are still recuperating as things are so much easier now, and I dont for a second mind taking the burden on my shoulders for now as dh has been my rock and I love him dearly, but I need support too.

We also both have an essay ( a 1250 word exegesis of an Old Testament law passage) due in on Monday. So if you could pray we get that done too I'd really love it.

I do pray for you guys every day, though I dont post often.

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 20:14

Evening!

I think DD1 has cracked the whole weeing thing - yippee!! Hoping the pooing will follow shortly!!!!?

Katzg - good to "see" you honey! Praying that God would reveal His plan and purpose to you - remember, His plan is the best plan - keep trusting and walking in His light and you will be just fine!

Praying for your bro as he settles in, in Iraq Mary - keep us up-to-date.

texas - Glad work is busy, but good - Praying for your ex-collegue as she goes off to do whatever it is that she is going to do!

Hi Podmog - Good to "see" you honey! Bless your DH coming home so you could have a nap - hope you thoroughly enjoyed it - You deserve it!

Oh harrisey - You are carrying a lot on your shoulders - "Cast your burndens onto Jesus, because He cares for you!!" Praying for the poor run-down harrisey household, esp Mr harrisey - hoping you are all fit as fiddles v.v.v.soon and able to trek on with college etc. Praying for you both as you embark on this new essay....

Thanks Mary,

Am feeling more positive today and am trying to just give it all to God. Easier said than done, but I know I can't carry the burdens myself.

Have now started Mth end again so am busy trying to work, it is at least a distraction from thinking too much.

Good news is that Iron seems to have finally kicked in and am feeling much more with it and a lot less dizzy

MarsLady · 01/11/2006 21:07

The funeral went well... well as well as funerals do. The boys did their mother proud and Mandy was strong though distraught. Over 200 people attended. It was hard seeing his father who broke down in the middle of a passage from Shakespeare talking about the loss of a son. Anyhoo... glad that that is over. Continue to pray for them as grieve.

No news yet from Dave. Will post when I have some.

worzella · 01/11/2006 22:37

Wierdbird - Glad to hear that you have had a more positive day ... praying for you and the baby

I've joined the thread because I wanted to find more motivation to pray...please pray for me that I would have a greater awareness of God's presence and that I would have greater levels of peace and security and that I would spend less of my days worrying about trivialities! Thanks

MaryBS · 02/11/2006 08:24

Mars, praying for Mandy and the boys as they come to terms with being without Simon.

Harrisey, praying for your DH. How did he get on with the counsellor? Praying that God will take care of you all, so that you can do His work.

Worzella - I worry about trivialities too! I ask God that He reveals Himself to you, so that you may feel closer to him.

CD - I shared your toilet prayer on another board, after a request for "thoughts". The lady who read it cried - it was just what she wanted. Just letting you know you are reaching out to others too

Better go, kids are killing themself AGAIN!

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2006 09:53

Morning!

Gosh it is chilly here!! Just put a VERY grouchy, tired DD1 down for a rest - she seems a bit bleurgh this morning, poor lamb - probably the cold - I've given her a monkey hot water bottle that she loves to cuddle - Don't worry, I haven't filled it up with boiling water - He's still hot from where DH got up at 1.30am and filled him up!!!! THAT'S how cold it is here!!!!!! Brrrrr!

Glad you are feeling abit more positive weridbird - you are very much in my thoughts and prayers. Do you know when you will find out any more about bubs or are they just leaving it all for now?? [hugs]]

I am glad the funeral was ok enough Mars - my heart goes out to poor Mandy and her boys - I admire them for being so brave through all of this. Praying that God will give them continued strength. He will lead them through.....

Praying for motivation Worzella - one good reason I set up this thread was so we could all encourage each other to pray, pray, pray - So praying that you would pray, iykwim!!?

Awwww, Mary, she cried! Soooo pleased that the "Toilet Prayer" God gave me has blessed others too, that is fab! Thank you for sharing. How are you doing, busy lady?

Speaking of being busy - I have an article about recycling to write .....

Hi CD,

Won't know any more from the Consultant perspective till 4 weeks time when they are re-scanning me at 36 weeks.

very nice MW that I have, has told me to come and visit her today so we can talk.

Knew there was a reason I changed MW!

I have a better idea of what will happen on the day in Hospital now as one of the ladies in my Antenatal group on here had the same thing happen to her last pregnancy and so that has helped, a lot of it is fear of the unknown...
