Hi all. DS1 enjoyed his first morning at school. However DS2 has been sick this afternoon, so all is not well in the naswm house atm. Please pray if you can. Thanks Nx

DumbledoresGirl · 05/09/2006 16:18

Oh naswm! So sorry. Praying he is better soon.

Nanou1 · 05/09/2006 16:41

thank you so much everybody for your kind messages - will pass them on to dh! so sorry naswm... do you think it could be anxiety? must dash - stuff to finish off before i go home!
take care everybody- you are all in my prayers too. there is a light at the end of the tunnel - allelouia!!!! one question before i go: have been asked to take minutes at church meetings. am just not good at it and a bit embarrassed by it. it's been a long time since i took minutes of meetings and i told vicar so but he is rather insistent... what should i do? parts of me want to do it but not feeling confident at all? should i decline kind offer? i do help at sunday school almost every week and we are quite active at raising money; reading etc so it is not as if we did nothing. not keen to spread myself too much iyswim. thanks

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 17:25

Bonjour about to go and pick DD's up, so must be quick......

Yey! for new job Katzg - that is great! Well Done and Praise God!! Praying about DD's rash - let us know how it goes, what a worry for you. [hugs]]

Holding your friend's wife's dad in my prayers Idris - so glad the cancer can be operated on - really praying the op is a success and he doesn't need further treatment - do keep us informed. All praying for him here! xxxx

weirdbird - Glad things are going - 24 weeks - yey! Big milestone for you and your wee one!! Praying your DH gets this new job if it is meant for him - and praying for the visit from DD's class teacher too!

NASWM - Pleased DS1's 1st day at school went ok, but sorry to hear about DS2 - praying he makes a quick recovery. [hugs]

Nanou1 - I would just be firm with the Vicar and say you simply can't do the mins and you are afraid he is just going to have to find someone else. I find some vicars / people in charge of churchy things seem to be quite pushy, which is a shame; but it is only generated by the vast amount of apathy by most of the congregation in so many churches (IMO) - always seems to end up being the same few who do everything, iykwim!!? Just say "no" - do what you feel comfortable with and don't feel guilty - like you said, you do enough and enough is enough, imho!!! You go girl!!

Must go and get babies .......

Evening all good to see you and to see good things happening.

Nanau fantastic news re: dh and job. God will let you know if taking the minutes is the right thing to do so just pray about it.

Katzg hoping its good news about dd's rash and that they can treat it. Brill news about your jot too.

Idris just pray that the operation for friend will be the end of it - no more treatment.

Weirdbird 24 wks excellent. Is consultant appointment tomorrow? Praying that water retention goes and that you will slowly build up your strength day by day. I'm sure the home visit will go just fine.

Naswm hope sickness passes soon and brill that ds had such a good time at school today.

longwaytogo · 05/09/2006 19:19

dd starts nursery tomorrow she is sooo looking forward to it. will try and put a photo of her in her tiny little uniform tomorrow. She is sooo sweet.

naswm · 05/09/2006 19:48

Thanks for good wishes and hugs. They are much appreciated. DS2 is sleeping now. He has been sick all afternoon. Has a temp and seems to also have a sore throat/bad chest. Please pray that it passes asap, and that he isnt sick any more, and that no one else, especially his older brother, doesnt catch it (seeing as he only started school today.) I dont know how I shall manage the school run/drop off /collection tomorrow if DS2 is still sick. Thanks. Sorry for asking so much. naswm x

sleepysooz · 05/09/2006 22:26

ALLELUIA!

Twins go to sleep themselves in their own bedroom and touch wood sleeping through, 1st night last night for ds, what a long and tiring expedition (felt like it going up and down stairs)

naswm - hope little one better for you tomorrow, prayers for you there!

nearlythree · 05/09/2006 22:54

naswm, will pray for you & your family, there is nothing more awful than when a little one is sick. Poor little chap, I hope he has a good night.

Thnaks for the welcome everyone. Yes, I have had struggles with my faith, I'm through that now but missing fellowship, and this seems to be a good place to come.

Dd1 starts school tomorrow, I'm really finding it hard and keep thinking about the things she did as a baby and toddler, and because I have dd2 and ds I keep getting reminders. I have huge reservations about our education system anyway, and am aware that because of pressures with nb ds and poorly dd2 that dd1 has had a pretty dull summer and I feel sad that I didn't make more of this time together. I also hate the fact that when she cries it will be someone else she goes to, someone else who is there to watch the funny things she does (esp. as I'm not her new teacher's greatest fan). Feel really silly and don't want her to realise how sad I am.

naswm · 06/09/2006 07:26

oh nearlythere I empathise entirely. Will pray for your DD today. It is so hard 'letting go' of them isnt it? I'm sure she'll be fine though. It will be worse for you than her. Do let us know how you both get on.

My DS2 had a good night and seems brighter this morning. He has just had a rice cake and some water (banned his milk - and actually think I might take this 'opportunity' to give up his nutramgigen - replacement formula, he's been on since 6 weeks old for his gastric reflux/food intolerances. So something good may come out of this spell of illness). Thanks for all your prayers and support. Through the night as I lay awake tossing and turning I thought of all our 'virtual' prayer support. It felt good .

Love and prayers to everyone else. naswm x

MaryBS · 06/09/2006 07:51

NASWM - glad your DS is on the mend, sorry you had such a restless night . Praying that things continue to improve and you get some rest!

Praying for all those startin school. DS started on Monday - I thought for the whole day, so left him there - I didn't realise I was supposed to pick him up lunchtime! Still, he had a good time with the Y1s apparently . He is full time straight away as he is nearly 5. He seems to be loving it though, praise God!

Nearlythree - praying that God lifts your spirits - let us know how how your DD gets on today

lwtg - praying that everything goes well for your DD, and that you don't miss her TOO much!

Katzg - great news on the jobs front!!! Praying for good news on your DD's rash.

Sleepysooz, how was last night? Is it still going well with the twins sleeping in their own room? Praying that it is so.

Please pray for the Vicarage garden party on 16th. Its still in a state of total disarray and we don't have enough volunteers!

MaryBS · 06/09/2006 07:52

Sorry sleepysooz, I'm a bit sleepy this morning. I meant that I hope things went well with DS and getting him to sleep in his own room!

MarsLady · 06/09/2006 08:07

Update:

My friend Dave has a date for his PET scan. Its Tues 26th Sept at 11 o'clock. For those who don't speak in doctor language....a PET scan is a very detailed scan of the molecular activity that goes off in side.Basically diseased cells absorb more glucose than good cells so they get Dave to drink a very large jug full of this toxic yuk ,they all then have to wait awhile while it goes into his system and then they put him through the scanner, any dodgy cells ie cancerous cells light up like a Christmas tree.

Simon is currently non responsive. He has had a scan, but no results yet. He is due to have a tracheostomy today.

My friend who's DH left says that they are both going to attend counselling and that they are at least speaking.

Still no baby, but there's no cause for concern. Just don't want it to arrive today lol.

DD1 went to senior school today. It's her first day. Please pray that she has a really good first day and that the travelling doesn't bother her.

I am attempting to write an essay today. Pray that I don't get distracted and that I ignore MN today (I know... shocking!)

That's it for now.

PandaG · 06/09/2006 08:09

Morning all

DS back to school today, so all go in the Panda household! He's happy to be going back though.

Praying for y ou nearly3 - as someone else said it is harder for us letting go than it is for them starting school, praying that it goes better than you could imagine, and that DD has a lovely day.

naswm - glad your DS seems to be better this morning - praying that no-one else catches it.

Mary, praying for more volunteers for you.

hugsxx

PandaG · 06/09/2006 08:12

Marsy - praying for DD1 at senior school, and that you get your essay done! What is it this time? Also praying for the other situations, particularly for Simon's tracheotomy.

morning all dd has gone fine to nursery and its just me and ds and that feels strange again after having 4 of them at home for 6 weeks.

eldest dd has been so miserable this last week - she hates school with avengence so please pray she will soon settle back in - although I feel this will be the begining of all her medical problems again. Back at consultant with her tomorrow re: allergy, joint aches etc. Which funnily enough hasn't really been an issue over the summer. Even though she says it has but doesn't say anything because no one believes her.

Praying for all those who have started school/nursery this morning and of course for everyone else.

hi guys. cannot concentrate this am.... very and and can just about talk about it now.... when i got home last night, dh did not look well and very cheesed off... the agency called him yesterday late afternoon to say that the company that offered dh the job called to say that they were interviewing someone else this afternoon cos fully bilingual in french - but no commercial experience ???!!!! so when dh said what does that means?! (since he had been offered the job in the morning), the agency said it is likely dh gets the job and confirmed dh's meeting with prospective employer at 10.30am to meet his team. very confused here and dh very upset. sorry to ask again but can i ask you for more prayers please.... will let you know as soon as i hear anything of course... we are cursed

i know cd... but what am i supposed to make of it all??!! that it's part of the Journey?!

Nanou1 · 06/09/2006 11:48

sorry... should not have said that...

CaptainDippy · 06/09/2006 11:56

No honey - really, it is ok - I know exactly how you feel - DH and I have had so many set backs and some days I just think: "Fuck it, do you know what - I just can't be fucking bothered anymore. God hates me. He absolutely hates me and I just want to curl up and die." Excuse the language, but that is how I feel some days - everything to seems to transpire against us and I just feel like nothing is ever going to go right. I look at everyone around us who is living in their own house and is enjoying their life without any worries (not how it is obviously, just how it seems to my twisted brain!) and I just think "what is the point?" I do soooo much for others, but no one cares a fig about us - I sympathise with you sooooo much Nanou1 - more than you could know......

...but God loves you and he has blessed you (your marriage, the job you have now, your beautiful DD, your house etc......) and you must concentrate on those things. Things will be ok and you are not cursed!!!!!!! [[hugs] Love you! xxxx
