Still no more Contraction since last Sat, am feeling more like myself (especially as I treated myself to some maternity clothes from funmum.com)

Actually drove the car today as well.

Am feeling a lot more positive and happy (am 24 weeks on Tuesday!!!)

Please pray for me this weekend, I am a self employed Data Analyst and all my work files came through today from the companies I do work for.

I have from now till Tuesday morning to send it all back done, please pray bump will behave itself as I can't afford to not work!

I can claim maternity allowance if I wanted to not work for a few months, but I wouldnt have a business to come back to!!!!

Also, excitingly we have our 20 week scan on Monday yes I know I will be 24 weeks, but we where meant to be on holiday over the last 2 weeks of August and this was the first date they could fit me in afterwards, we are hoping to find out if it is a DD or DS

AND my DD starts school on Thursday for the first time ever am going to miss her at home, she has been very quiet over going to school and the little I have been able to get out of her is that she is worried about making friends [cry] Please pray that she makes a new friend on the first day.

longwaytogo · 01/09/2006 23:32

weirdbird that is brill news. DD will be fine in school i'm sure and so will you. YOu will have to take the opportunity to put your feet up.

My dd starts nursery on Wed and is sooooo looking forward to it. She says i not seeing Joshua no more am i. Josh is her brother and I think she means she wont be going to nursery (day care with him) even though he is in different room to her anyway. bless.

harrisey · 02/09/2006 01:04

Hi Ladies,
I havent posted much as I have been moving etc ... but I do check up the list and pray for you all.

We are doing well, loving being in Glasgow, I am thoroughly enjoying preparig for Bible college and our great little house that God has provided for us.

Could you please pray that dd1 settles down better at school - she is a bit culture shocked, and I am going to see her teacher on Tues, just to check if there is anything else I can do to help her adjust (from a class of 8 to a class of 28, adn there are BOYS in the class now!!!)

harrisey · 02/09/2006 01:08

sleepyjsee - just wanted to add espedcially that you are i nin my prayers right now. My only experience of all of this is having a dh who has done a lot of care of the dying as a country GP, and I have heard so many stories of people who are afraid to 'let go'. Praying for peace for your MIL, DH, FIL and the whole family, inclding you, of course ((hugs))

CaptainDippy · 02/09/2006 07:54

Weirdbird - so glad there hasn't been anymore contractions - week 24 is fast approaching honey - hurrah!! Praying that you get the work done ok without any undue stress and that your scan goes well - do let us know!! Praying that your DD1 would settle into school better - sounds like she is experiencing a bit of a culture shock atm, poor thing - more pupils and boys!!!! Bless her!! xx

Off to do photography for friend's Wedding today - am a bit rusty, so pleeeeease pray it goes ok the pics I take are worthy!! Thank you!! Itching to hear about house offer and about midwife appointment!

Morning CD... all quiet here... please may it stay that way.

I'm off shortly to do my study day across town. So please pray that the baby stays put and I don't get a call whilst I'm there. Would be great if baby stayed put till next week actually.

DD1 starts her new senior school on Wednesday so I'd appreciate prayers that that would be a smooth and easy transition.

No word on Simon today.... please keep him in your prayers.

Right....... gotta get gone. Praying for you all.

DumbledoresGirl · 02/09/2006 09:25

Morning all. I am an occasional poster on this thread and a more frequent lurker. I have huge respect and sympathy for those of you going through such major life events.

My prayers are of a somewhat more trivial nature. I am an emetophobe (fear of vomiting) and last night my youngest ds was sick - major major panic ensued for me although dh was perfect and cared for ds superbly. Still, I had a sleepless night, and have now entered my usual depression following any sickness. I have had a long chat with dh about how unworthy I feel as a wife and mother - indeed as a person as a whole - and how much I want my life to end.

Please spare a moment of prayer for me this weekend. Pray that I might find the respect for myself that is so lacking and the strength to go on. I know some of you will, so thank you in advance.

naswm · 02/09/2006 10:43

I signed in to MN to come on to this thread to ask for prayers for my best buddy DumbledoresGirl - but it seems she has already been on and explianed all herself. So all I will do it echo her request for support for her at this difficult time. They all came home last night from two weeks holiday and this has really set her back. Thanks. (DG you know you are permenantly in my thoughts and prayers. And you know you can ring, text, email, msn whenever you need me. DS3 will be fine, and you'll be fine too. I know you will. It just doesnt feel like it atm. Big virtual hugs Nx)

sleepysooz · 02/09/2006 13:04

Dumbledoresgirl - I have same problem, it makes you feel so rubbish doesn't it! hope ds is now in recovery so that you can feel better also!

cd - wonderful new thread, congratulations, oh and wonderful lord be with you and the results of house offer!

Please can you spare a little prayer for my ds1 10yo who has just had a full brace fitted and is in pain and worried about going back to school next week (fear of being bullied) as he has to cut his food up (he says like a baby) not allowed to bite food!

My darling son 'the wonderful lord be with you next week at school and all other children that may be worried starting back at school'

longwaytogo · 02/09/2006 13:12

dumbledorisgirl am praying for you hun. Once knew someone with the same fear, she couldn't watch certain tv programmes in case it happened. Anyway she had counselling and although the thought still terrified her she could actually cope if she unexpectedly saw someone being sick.

All ok in our house today dd1 has gone away till tomorrow with a friend, dd2 has gone to fun morning at leisure centre then swimming and then to a friends. Just dh, me and dd3 and ds. Just talking about ? taking them swimming. Not been since June. >> or actually can't take them on my own as they too little.

MarsLady · 02/09/2006 18:41

DG.. nothing is trivial. Will pray for you and continue to do so. I hope you see how truly worthy and special you are. Psalm 139 talks about how we were knit together in our mother's womb and how before we were God knew us. He doesn't make rubbish... you are truly special. Just because you have a fear doesn't mean that you aren't. Much love to you.

harrisey · 03/09/2006 00:04

DG - so sorry to hear about your phobia. I am hospital phobic after I was admitted 17 times in 18 months with a kidney problem - even writing about it now is bringing me out ina cold sweat, thinking about it.
You take care of yourself this weekend, I know what it is liek getting over an attac likr this. Thinking of and praying for you!

Xavielli · 03/09/2006 02:06

Hey all. Praying really hard for you DG, I hate vomit too. If anyone says they feel in the least bit sick I am out like a shot.

My friend whose mum has cancer has just told me that her sister has had a miscarrige at 5+months. Devil, take your hands of that family in Jesus name!!

MaryBS · 03/09/2006 06:48

Morning everyone, I got back last night, so still catching up! A bit woolly-headed this morning.
DBro and SIL are getting on REALLY well with their 2 soon-to-be adopted. The lady with the breast lump has been given the all-clear - WOOHOO! No great news about my nephew, he's sitll playing up. They've been on holiday for a week, so praying they've been able to bond with him.
Please pray for DH, he had blood tests for gout before we went away. Now we know he has it, and the Drs did too, but we are not sure why they've phoned up and left 2 messages plus sent a letter asking him to get in touch ASAP. Please pray its not serious, DH isn't sure if they tested him for anything else, but he is very worried until he can get it touch.
Will post properly later.
Would also like to thank God for a good holiday (depite the weather and the car breaking down and being out of action for 5 days - still, we had a hire car). Went to a couple of interesting churches for services (DH was bemused - first time I've 'bothered' to go while on holiday! ). One was so high, that if it hadn't been for all the incense, I would have convinced I'd wandered into a Catholic church by mistake - still it was good, for all that!

longwaytogo · 03/09/2006 07:19

morning marybs glad you had a good holiday, and see what you miss while your away have you seen what cd has been up to? I think its high time you sent her to the naughty step

xavielli praying for that family.

dumdg how you doing today?

cd any news on that house hun, there must be some news soon on one house or another as you know new house new baby go together.

Xavielli · 03/09/2006 09:22

Welcome home MaryBS. Good to have you back. You are blessed.

PandaG · 03/09/2006 10:05

Hello all

DG praying for you flower, you are not a bad mum because you have a phobia, that is the devil telling you a lie. Praying you DS will be well really quickly, and that you will feel better about yourself.

Mary, glad to see you back praying for your DH.

Harrisey - lovely to hear from you. Praying for your dd, and anyone else's children who are starting back at school, including yours SleepySooz

Went to a MN meet yesterday, had a lovely time

DumbledoresGirl · 03/09/2006 13:31

Just to let you all know that ds3 is fine now - in fact nagging for his lunch as I type - it looks like it was a bad egg I gave him to eat that made him ill, not a bug. What sort of mother does that make me now? I knew it was 2 weeks over date, but have never had a problem with old eggs before. Anyway, thank god he is better and hopefully (in a way) it was the egg and my other children won't get ill either. Dh has been lovely but I am still very low - always get terrible depression after sickness or any kind because my inability to cope makes me feel so despairing. Anyway, I am still hanging in there, wishing I had better faith and could get more strength from God as I did in the past, but grateful for all your kind words.

Intrigued (as a catholic) at Mary's comment about the church you visited on holiday: "One was so high, that if it hadn't been for all the incense, I would have convinced I'd wandered into a Catholic church by mistake". Did you mean it had incense or not? because Catholic churches are full of incense! Anyway, glad you enjoyed the experience.
