Am waiting for a call back from mine

Any idea what this could be? Got her today she's 4 months have just noticed she feels quite "hard" or bloated?

Is it from food?

Hmm I'd think worms first off if I am honest. But I suppose she could be pregnant.. (sorry not remotely helpful)

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 26/02/2022 19:14

Screen shot some pregnancy symptoms in dcats and keep checking op!!
If she goes missing she will be in an airing cupboard with your towels nesting!!
Ime.

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:17

The woman told me she'd push the other kittens out when eating

Didn't think anything of it!🤦🏻‍♀️

I hope it's worms instead! 🙏
Have working tablets here but shall I wait till she been checked?

@pinkgin1 I would wait until you've spoken to the Vet to give her worming tablets just in case she is pregnant.

Let us know how you get on

Happydays321 · 26/02/2022 19:27

Definitely don't give her worming tablets till you've seen vet.

Did the person who bred her tell you about us worming regime.
Pregnant cats should be wormed then the kittens should be wormed regularly,

ClandestineAdulation · 26/02/2022 19:31

Do you know when she was last wormed?

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:31

I will do!

How can I check her Nipples safely ?
If pregnant can she hiss or not want to be touched?

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:32

@ClandestineAdulation they had a vet check apparently ten days ago I assume they would of sorted it there ?

Am awaiting a reply from original owner about it

And still a call from vets

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:42

Nipples aren't like that can't see them cause of her fur and don't want to annoy her!

Do I just make sure her food bowl is always full then? Till I have an answer?
As if worms she'll be hungry anyway alot and same for pregnancy?

Thank you all for the comments I appreciate your help!

I hope she isn't pregnant she's just a baby herself and it can be dangerous I've heard!!

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:53

Best I can get
She doesn't like being touched in that area was hissing
Crying a lot too if no one is in sight

ClandestineAdulation · 26/02/2022 19:54

Are you able to drop a message to the person you got her from to check that she was wormed? They’d have probably checked her over at the vet and recommended that she be wormed but it would be up to the owner to do that.

Make sure she’s fed and watered as well as being comfortable, nothing significant is likely to happen whilst you’re waiting to hear back from the vet!

Undecicive · 26/02/2022 19:57

I doubt she's pregnant at 4 months, it'd have to be a very advanced stage for her belly to be this big. She looks a bit skinny to me, I think worms are more likely and hopefully nothing more sinister.

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:58

@ClandestineAdulation

She is a bit on edge
Can smell my other cat
Can hiss a bit
Doesn't like that area touched
So if it isn't pregnancy then worms is really upsetting her!

Would they stop the pregnancy if she was pregnant? Can't giving birth that young be a low chance of survival for the mom and babies?

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 19:59

@Undecicive thank you! I hope so to! That's why I'm anxiously waiting for a call to book her in. Latest will be Monday I think. If it is worms I'm glad it can be sorted asap!

My friend took her 4 month old cat to be spayed. There were four kittens in there.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 26/02/2022 20:02

Yes, a vet can end the pregnancy if that is what it is, and spay her at the same time.

ClandestineAdulation · 26/02/2022 20:03

Don’t forget that she’s also in a new place and will need time to get used to her surroundings.

It’s quite unusual for a 4 month old cat to be pregnant but not completely out of the question. She’d be 6 months old when she gave birth and would need to be monitored if that were the case.

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 20:04

Ok thanks guys

If it was worms can this damage her and cause pain?
I don't want to pick her up at all now either way incase she has discomfort

mummymayhem18 · 26/02/2022 20:11

I would maybe give your vets another chase up as you seemed to think they would have rung you by now. Hope she's ok.🐱

Theunamedcat · 26/02/2022 20:14

Worms can cause tummy ache if she is riddled but you said her poo was clear? Is she on the same food they were giving her? Was she weaned from mom properly?

HeadacheGrey · 26/02/2022 20:22

Oh dear she really looks pregnant to me. I hope I'm wrong, poor little mite.

pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 20:30

@Theunamedcat

She's only had one packet since being here and biscuits
Would change in food really cause that? Is it possible?

No upset stomach no sickness or diarrhoea and I cannot see anything unusual in her stool (I checked it😣😣) no worms or anything white

OP posts:
pinkgin1 · 26/02/2022 20:31

@Theunamedcat yeah they only just let her be sold at 4 months not before
