spiderlight · 15/08/2010 22:30

BorisTheBold, I love that photo of your three all stacked up on the sofa! Gorgeous :)

bibbitybobbityhat · 15/08/2010 22:30

I love dogs and am not scared of them and positively do NOT want to slap dog owners who dare to presume to let their dogs off a lead in a wide open country-type space Grin. However, my hands are full with an elderly cat and three very rotund guinea pigs (not to mention 2 x dc and a huge dh) atm, but I might have a dog later on.

I like the medium-sized black and tan curly haired dogs with a beard. What are they? I want to say Airdales but I'm probably wrong.

I also love love love greyhounds.

BorisTheBold · 15/08/2010 22:35

Thanks Trinity - like your wee specky one!!

Cheers Spider, we've now decided that a collection of whippets should be called a "couch", in the same way you get a "herd" of cows or "flock" of birds - a "couch" of whippets just seems right Grin

bibbitybobbityhat · 15/08/2010 22:36

Oh yes! English bull terriers. What an amazing animal.

5inthebed · 15/08/2010 22:36

My absolute favourite is a miniature short haired dashchund.

I also like ugly dogs, pugs, british bulldogs etc.

Alouiseg · 15/08/2010 22:50

My Bulldog is on my profile, he was a tiny Hmm pup then and anything but ugly. In my totally unbiased opinion :o

TrinityRhino · 15/08/2010 22:51

MrsSnaplegs · 15/08/2010 22:54

5inthebed · 15/08/2010 22:56

Everyones dogs on their profiles are gorgeous. It's making me want a dog now!

Do you think it would be rude of me to askmy family to all chip in to buy me a dog for my 30th? Grin

BorisTheBold · 15/08/2010 22:58

Aww she's a wee cutie!

LetThereBeRock · 15/08/2010 22:59

Proper dogs, do Golden Retrievers, Labs, GSD, Beagle, but my absolute Fave is the Border collie. They are one of the most amazing breeds out thereGrin

Loathe ankle biters- having had my ankles bitten by several while I was a papergirl.

hmc · 15/08/2010 23:05

i have this breed of dog, a Bernese Mountain dog

I defy anyone to tell me that they are not beautiful. Only downside is they are very shortlived. My girl is now 5 and still in good health...she is warm, loving and affectionate. She comes over, fixes you with brown limpid eyes and places a huge paw on your knee beseeching you to hug her. She would really love to be a lap dog but at circa 8 stone that's a bit of a stretch!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 15/08/2010 23:06

Im not keen on small dogs tbh, but dont mind them. I love my labradoodle though Grin he is like a massive teddy bear Wink

Staffies.

I was very anti-staffie before we got our lovely, soppy staffie - I see now why they're are called nanny-dogs. Our staffie Meg loves to run around with dd and play ball, dd feeds her tidbits whenever we aren't looking, they are the best of friends, and Meg is very protective of dd. To the point where Meg will raise the alarm if dd looks like she is thinking of opening the garden gate to bugger off disappear. She sees any strange dog or unknown adult as a potential threat to dd and tries to be brave. This would be easier if she weren't the kind of dog to be slightly intimidated by cats, and on one memorable occasion, the kind of well 'ard staffie that ran away from a fence panel that made a slight noise when the wind blew... Hmm Grin
