🍀 As it's St Patrick's Day today, can I ask you to spare 5 minutes for Noah Donahoe and his mummy? (TW)

1000 replies

TheRealMrsMac · 17/03/2022 15:57

Happy St Patrick's Day, everyone ☘

If you're not already aware of lovely Noah and what happened to him, here is a current thread (TW) over in Craicnet:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/craicnet/3951182-Noah-Donohoe

Whether you read that thread or not, please will you help his mummy in her quest for justice for Noah - and the answers she needs and deserves - by signing this petition and, if you can, then sharing it? It already has over 300k signatures, but it would be lovely if we can get it up to 500k:

Thank you 🍀

Can you just keep it there ?
Please ?

It seems that mumsnet do want threads about Noah to be active. Never mind algorithms.

They shout loudly about many causes. This is not a cause. This is the unexplained disappearance and death of a child. His mother is begging for help to get answers. Mumsnet you need to show up.

Not in Active, despite the bumps and other posts of all the wonderful pps doing your best, showing support to Noah's mum Fiona, and pleading to Mumsnet. It beggars belief that Mumsnet are ignoring this, not getting alongside us and Fiona and Noah, and instead making this more difficult. Why not?

Thank you, pps. Flowers

And on the rare occasions it does get in Active, it usually drops straight out again like a stone - and unlike other threads hanging around in Active for quite a while.

I know you meant 'don't' in your first sentence.

Agreed.

Mumsnet need to show up.

Exactly. Even when people come and post it drops straight off
Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 18:21

The cynic in me thinks petitions are a bit boring. Mn want the dramatic threads in active.

TheRealMrsMac · 26/03/2022 18:21

@Yiayoula

Exactly.

And yet there's a thread still in Active with no posts for the last 32 minutes - many other examples of less active threads in there too.

Let's be honest, a thread in the DM doesn't harm MN. So they want the outrageous ones getting more and more people posting.

So I do think things like petitions are set up, in the algorithm to drop quickly for the busier places and the ones that are more to have threads that will attack lots of outrage.

Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 18:24

Its in active now. But straight after posted, i checked and it was already near the bottom.

Maybe. Mainly interested in clickbait for revenue these days? Threads likely to be picked up by the Daily Fail and so on?

The disappearance and death of a child in what many people think are suspicious circumstances can be called many things, but 'too boring for us here at Mumsnet' should never be one of them.

OP posts:
Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 18:25

And it's stayed the same place after my post saying it was near the bottom of active.

How does that happen?

Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 18:26

100% agree.
