For children aged 2 to 7. I am going to make nice glittery and scented home made play dough and stick in a pretty cellophane bag. Piece of cake obviously.

A friend had fab eco friendly bath colour tablets, but I have tracked them down and they are 50p a pop

I have about 20 guests

any ideas please? how little can you get away with putting in the bag?

I always put sweets in. Choc buttons or Percy Pigs.

Bumper packs of anything are good such as pencils, then you can just break up packs into as many as you need. I think the 2 things you are putting in sound great already, don't put much more in than that.

ellceeell · 11/03/2008 20:09

packet of seeds? Although that might work out expensive as well

FrannyandZooey · 11/03/2008 20:09

no I don't think it needs much more, but it needs something else, doesn't it?

Plastic plant pot (buy in big sets) and a bulb (buy in big packs and split)

bubble mix (you can get multi-packs I think, also littler ones that are meant for weddings)

little badge made of salt dough/Fimo (wouldn't take long to make these, you could do little animal ones and even put the children's names on them)

little friendship bracelets (do you know how to make these?)

also form the playdough into little characters (snails, mice etc), that would be nice

you could buy some big flat wooden buttons - the kind with a hole in it - and get ds to decorate with colours (oil paints/model paints/inks), put each one on a little piece of string, like a pendant

or make lovely multi-coloured bobbles (you know, where you use the two rings of card and wind coloured wool around) kids LOVE bobbles - you could put on a little bit of elastic for bouncing around

or you could just go for glo-sticks

will keep thinking

tesco are selling wee toy kites for 21p - I just bought them in bulk!!

for girls go to primark/new look/claires accessories and buy packets of hair bands and split them up

boxes of organic yogurt covered raisins from asda

Sticker sheets and cut them up into strips.

ELC do a good craft set you can split up with four rolls of stickers.

Got bumper packs of patterned/picture sheets of paper from craft shop and split them up.

Greensleeves · 11/03/2008 20:22
