spill the beans on great/ awful weddings

I'm planning my wedding for August next year and want to know the things that really bug you at weddings and things that you really like. Anything you feel is really unoriginal, or things that made you go ooh, aaaah!

The church ladies did our flowers - cost of £35. They were going to do them anyway but did them in our colours and used the money to make them look extra special.

Lily of the valley are very different from lillies.

I had white lillies at my wedding - no one suggested they were funereal! And a good florist will remove the pollen.

Ceildigh (sp) getting another vote here after a fab wedding I went to. I was single but the bride and groom made sure everyone got dances.
Baaaad wedding I went to, ex dp was best man. Instead of sitting me at the end of a long table so I was sort of across from him, I was plonked in a 'spare' seat opposite a 3 year old, and on each side of me was a group who all knew each other. So I sat, knowing no one, and had a shit time.

Please do not think it will be nice to mix your tables with folks who do not know each other it is not nice it is awful. I always get the strange aunt or boring in laws, please, please put friends with friends and family with family. See it as payback time!
