Just listening to our's now on iTunes ... There is a Light that Never Goes Out, by The Smiths.

Luckily most of our friends share our sense of humour, but my Mum was a little perplexed, bless her!

Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers because the words were so apt..

My heart was broken
You saw it, you claimed, you made it

While the Chief puts Sunshine on Leith I will be with you

OOooooh I get all emotional just thinking about it.

I met dh when I moved back into my flat after my ex bf said it was all over -we had been together 12 years!

Best think he ever did

Perfect Circle by REM.

niceglasses · 30/06/2006 12:51

Ten Storey Love Song

Stone Roses.

MrsBadger · 30/06/2006 12:55

Rock Around the Clock, as it happens

the band were very good - played a soppy slow-dance type introduction as we walked out onto the floor and everyone gathered round, and then ripped into it and shocked all the aged aunts .

muminaquandary · 30/06/2006 12:56

We had Always and Forever when walking up the aisle.

Eternal Flame for after.

Never Too Much for the first dance.

WellKnownMemorablePeachyClair · 30/06/2006 12:59

Shania twain looks like we made it

which wasn't what I wanted, meant to be from this moment

which again wasnt exactly great but it had taken me so long to choose with my ex fiance that i'd given up on a second

besides, our stuff wouldn't have been appropriate (let me entertain you might have been best as our song TBH)

Fall at your feet - Crowded House

A friend of mine had Stupid Girl by Garbage

magnolia1 · 30/06/2006 13:09

Crazy for you by Madonna

Clare1976Lawrence · 30/06/2006 13:12

we had 'You bring the sun out' by Randy Crawford, which not many people know but it's a simple melody with really beautiful (but not sickly sentimental) lyrics along the lines of

You bring the sun out
you bring the stars out
you make the darkness
go away

Really touching.

Dancing Queen by Abba

We didn't want to have a 'first dance', but my dad said that no one was dancing unless we did, and that was the next song that played.

Was quite apt though as a close friend who couldn't make it to the wedding (she was in Bahrain teaching at the time), had sent us a telegram which read 'P.S. Get them to play 'Dancing Queen' for me'

niceglasses · 30/06/2006 13:21

Which version of 'Lovely Horse ' tho Blue?

Was it

My Lovely horse, Runing through the fields
Running around with his fetlock blowing in the wind.......

or the more melodic

My lovely, lovely horse.......?

Hummm?

(magnolia love that song but embarassing memories of slightly icky drink college parties - )

Wonder what peter is doing now, no trace of him on Google so not much I guess

Fimbo · 30/06/2006 13:27

Pagan - I love Every River - that was "our" song when dh worked away and I only saw him at the weekends. Still sends chivers down my spine when I hear it.

We should have had it really as our first dance but we had Wet Wet Wet - Love is All Around as the first film dh & I saw together was Four Weddings and A Funeral.

Ah, fond memories
