Just listening to our's now on iTunes ... There is a Light that Never Goes Out, by The Smiths.

Luckily most of our friends share our sense of humour, but my Mum was a little perplexed, bless her!

we had aerosmith "dont wanna miss a thing" from armageddon for our dance

we had "our wedding day" by bee gees for signing register

KBear · 30/06/2006 13:45

I'll always love you by Taylor Dayne (nothing like the Whitney song!).

I'll always love you
For the rest of my days
You have made my life complete
With your sweet sexy ways

apronstrings · 30/06/2006 13:45

Oh God, I can't remember - I haven't the faintest idea!!

nogoes · 30/06/2006 13:53

Hands to Heaven by Breathe because it was in the charts when we first met.

KBear · 30/06/2006 13:55

I love that song nogoes! Reminds me of teenage angst and crying into pillows and all that drama!

podglet · 30/06/2006 13:58

DP had "American Pie" for his first dance with ex wife - always gives me hysterics to think of this as she also made him dance - he's 6'4", 18 stone with about as much rythem as a tap dancing giraffe (think Simon Cowell dancing in 4 weddings) - I fear lives may have been lost

May explain partly why they were only married for 11 months...

JessaJam · 30/06/2006 14:01

didn't have a dancey type wedding, but the song at Reg office was a punk/ska cover of the Cure song "Just Like Heaven"( neither of us like the Cure, but the cover's good!)

Friends (ish) of ours had first dance to that Evanescence (sp) single where the singy bird falls out of a nice high window!

1Baby1Bump · 30/06/2006 14:04

lady in red.
dh, totally ratted, requested it without even consulting me.

he's only just 25....

JessaJam · 30/06/2006 14:06

Forgot to say, Registrar was worried we had given her the wrong CD and tried to turn the volume down when it started!!! DH had to walk over to the miniscule CD layer to turn it back up again!!!!

QueenEagle · 30/06/2006 14:15

The Best In Me by Blue for signing the register

Chorus goes something like:

You bring out the best in me Like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side That's why I love you

The rest of our wedding music was by Bryan Adams from the Spirit soundtrack. Didn't have a first dance but had the soundtrack playing in the background

loujay · 30/06/2006 14:17

We've only just begun - the carpenters

LadyTamba · 30/06/2006 14:17

Amazed - Lonestar.

Marne · 30/06/2006 14:20

We did'nt have a party after our wedding (just a meal in a pub) but we had 'Green Day, Time of your life' playing when we got married.

hullabaloo · 30/06/2006 14:21

Music for signing the register was from Braveheart, First dance was Paul weller's You Do Something To Me. We had a conga line to lead us out to our car at the end of the night!! A girl I know had Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow? which I thought was hilarious!

NomDePlume · 30/06/2006 14:31

Can't take my eyes off you (orig by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons)

lahdeedah · 30/06/2006 14:36

Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order

not terribly appropriate for a wedding I suppose but it's one of my favourite favourite songs! always puts a big smile on my face and makies me want to dance around when I hear it.

WestCountryLass · 02/07/2006 22:28

We had a Sri Lankan calypso band at our wedding (married in SL) but we had:

In My Life by the Beatles
Let's Stay Together
If This Ain't Love by Groovejet

on our wedding video, which would have been our wedding songs/music.

riddleywalker · 02/07/2006 22:58

We had 'It's Only Natural' by Crowded House at the registrar's office and then 'Filthy Gorgeous' by Scissor Sisters at the reception. Mind you, our proper first dance was a mass participation line-dancing session led by a real cowboy... And we later descended into the rowing dance to 'Oops upside your head'... best night out for ages! NO wonder I got pregnant on my honeymoon night (she's now 8 months old).!

mrsbang · 02/07/2006 23:04

I Love You by the Climax Blues Band.

edam · 02/07/2006 23:06

Ain't misbehaving by Fats Waller. We both love it, and seemed appropriate, given we'd been living together for eight years.

mummydear · 02/07/2006 23:45

Wedding number 1 - Rick astley - when I fall in love , don't all be sick it was 1989 !!

Wedding 2 - No first dance as such but at the registery office we had Queen - Its a beautiful day and Made in Heaven ( Don't think we would be allowed the Made in heaven bit now )

Bubbaloo · 04/07/2006 17:18

At least you didn't have "I want to break free".

Kylie03 · 04/07/2006 17:22

I'm going to use songbird by Eva Cassidy when i get married in October, don't know why juts like it and its slow

Amiable · 04/07/2006 18:25

riddleywalker - Filthy/Gorgeous is our song too!! We thought of it as our first dance, but not sure. As I just got engaged on Saturday, this thread is proving very useful for ideas!

pebblemum · 04/07/2006 19:17

I had How will I live by Leanne Rymmes for signing the register (as well as the usual churchy music for the rest)

and

Unchained Melody (original) for our first dance. It wasnt my choice but the best man was so drunk by that time he forget what song we really wanted and so he chose the first slow song he could think of and told the dj to play it. I wasnt too bothered though dh cant dance at all so i spent most of the song concentrating on not geting stepped on and hardly noticed what was actually playing.

Our best man is getting married soon so perhaps we will return the favour!!! Any ideas?
