I will just say "taxi"

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/09/2010 16:27

Trills, i have a house, but still with bedrooms at street level. Well actually underground in the case of DH and I

Exercise today - ran 1.25 miles to preschool because i was late Blush. Must have looked a right loon with an empty buggy bouncing up and down Hmm

Bella, they sound like they are treating the issue fantastically well. The best bit is that it sounds like children can report stuff and it is acted on rather than being intimidated by the bullies which is good

Off out shortly to take our CM & her son out for tea as DD1 has officially finished there. She will still be going on adhoc days i have to work and some holidays but thought we should mark it somehow and say thankyou

VinegarTits · 09/09/2010 16:28

how far is our hotle from kings cross Bella? me and bof a deliberating 1st class or not, train will get us in to euston and we can tube it from there

bellavita · 09/09/2010 16:42

We are just a short stroll away from Green Park, Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge, Bond Street, and West End Theatres. The hotel is also conveniently located 5 minutes away from Green Park and Hyde Park Corner underground stations, so you can spent less time in transit and more time connecting with the city.

Whether you're in London to see the sights, catch a show or indulge in a day's shopping, you'll find all you could possibly want within only a few minutes walk of our front door.

* Shepherd's Market 0.1 km/0.1 miles
* Park Lane 0.1 km/0.1 miles
* Green Park 0.3 km/0.2 miles
* Knightsbridge (International Designer Boutiques) 0.5 km/0.3 miles
* Bond Street (International Designer Boutiques) 0.5 km/0.3 miles
* Hyde Park 0.6 km/0.4 miles
* Harvey Nichols 0.6 km/0.4 miles
* West End Theatre District 0.8 km/0.5 miles
* Oxford Circus/Oxford Street 1.0 km/0.6 miles
* Buckingham Palace 1.0 km/0.6 miles
* Harrods 1.0 km/0.6 miles
* Piccadilly Circus 1.0 km/0.6 miles
* Brompton Oratory 1.0 km/0.6 miles
* Royal Albert Hall 2.0 km/1.2 miles
* National Gallery 2.0 km/1.2 miles
* Trafalgar Square 2.0 km/1.2 miles
* Royal Academy of Art 2.0 km/1.2 miles
* Soho and Chinatown 2.0 km/1.2 miles
* Westminster Abbey 3.0 km/1.9 miles
* London Eye 3.0 km/1.9 miles

Looking at the above, we are not far from anything.

Not sure on distances from Kings Cross to hotel, but I don't think it will be far - especially by tube.

bellavita · 09/09/2010 16:44

btw - I didn't make up the "short stroll" bit etc, it came off the website!! Grin

VinegarTits · 09/09/2010 16:47

Grin ooohh im excited after looking at that

TrillianAstra · 09/09/2010 17:01

Really Bella? I thought you had just come up with that all on your own Wink

bellavita · 09/09/2010 17:06

Steady Trills Grin

jetcat · 09/09/2010 17:11

glad DS is sorted Bella - must be a big reliefSmile What hotel are you staying at (FB me if too public on hereGrin) as i am looking for one for junior and i for our theatre trip in January. Are you far away from Victoria? I must admit i am getting very Envy at all the meet up talk - reminds me of oursSmile

I did look into getting it checked with the AA Crispy, but it is tres expensive, and the car isnt worth it IYSWIM. When i get a longer term car next year, i will do it thoughSmile

Trills - am now imagining you running up and down stairs just for the hell of itGrin

Shiney - i am looking at a Corsa as well on Saturday - tis at the same garage. The deposit i paid today is transferable, so as long as it is still for sale, i may choose that one. Is half the priceGrin But, it is 13 years old, and i am very anxious over needing to spend money on it - which is why i got rid of my last car. We shall see. I just like the look and sound of the estate - i have wanted one for ages. When i bought the xsara, it was when i first started working as a sw, as i needed a car. Although i was paying for it and driving it, ex wouldnt let me get an estate. We broke up shortly afterGrin

Oh, and i am stupidly excited it has roof railsGrin Am imagining loads of weekends away camping - roof box packed to the rafters!

DidEinsteinsMum · 09/09/2010 17:32

i would say be careful re corsas. I had a P reg one that went and went and went with only wear and tear normal expected repairs.

My 2007 corsa is very expensive in terms of repairs and has more done to it in 60,000 miles then my P reg did in 150,000 miles. It is possible i have a friday afternoon car, but according to my fabulous mechanic the repairs i have had to have done is fairly standard amongst cars of a similar age. And I also believe that was why BSM got rid of the corsa for being unreliable.

nice to see you back shiney

jetcat · 09/09/2010 18:53

thanks DEM, that is interestingSmile

Lizzylou · 09/09/2010 18:59

Evening all, DH is doing bath/bedtime as he is out again this evening.

Shiney! I recognise that name...Grin
we didn't go for lunch today, going tomorrow.

I have pesto pasta and it was lovely and I don't care if it was a carbfest.
Or if I grated a ton of cheese on top.

Hello. I will not be running up and down the stairs for fun. They are narrow and steep, and have a wall on either side not a fun bannister you can slide down.

Resisted after-work pub, but might have an at-home drink. It is cheaper, and results in me eating different less crap.

DidEinsteinsMum · 09/09/2010 20:19

shiney what age where the corsa's you had. is the new one they offer with the life time warenty better then the 2007 version? or the 2009+ version or the 1997 version (a good year) or the 2000 version?

The Sainsbury's man cut short my telephone conversation with Shiney. How rude of him! Especially when he declined to come in to the house and put it away for me Grin

Going to give myself a manicure. Old nail polish needs to come off.

What drink are you going to have at home Trills?

Hello DEM Smile

Jet, how is junior settling in at school?

DidEinsteinsMum · 09/09/2010 20:37

I have a 59 plate at the mo. tis not a good year ime. P reg ones were amazing. just watch your back. i have had wheel bearings, front struts, cv-boots, and gear failure with it. never had any of that with the p reg. The p reg was so good i refused to look at anything else when i had to replace it. tbh I wish i had repaired it instead. this one is so bad it will be a while before i get another.

DidEinsteinsMum · 09/09/2010 20:38

hello bella,
must convince ds he want to go to bed and provide access to the room that is currently blocked off full of random stuff in doorway

bellavita · 09/09/2010 20:42

DidEinsteinsMum · 09/09/2010 20:44

TrillianAstra · 09/09/2010 20:49

bellavita · 09/09/2010 20:50

I will join you Trills Grin

Are you and Shiney going to meet up with me, Vinny & Bof during the day on the 27th?

TrillianAstra · 09/09/2010 21:04

Probably. I can speak for Shiney, I am not her keeper. It is the 27th of November though, not the 27th of September or anything Grin
