BitOfFun · 06/09/2010 21:04

I suppose I should be relieved that there wasn't a whole row of them and some sort of simulated explosion really!

NormaSknockers · 06/09/2010 21:08

This is true BOF....though I wouldn't leave DP alone in the kitchen just incase. He is rather cute though (S.Invader not DP though I'm sure he's cute too)

Iggi999 · 06/09/2010 21:20

Evening. Am watching Medium and trying not to think about food.
Perhaps if I had a space invader in kitchen it could shoot at me whenever I opened the fridge??

BitOfFun · 06/09/2010 21:21

Genius idea Yank.

NormaSknockers · 06/09/2010 21:44

Ooo Iggi I love Medium!

TrillianAstra · 06/09/2010 22:39

Wasting we had considered what the 'ring' of fire might be... DP will bear the brunt of it as his work has not very soft paper...

TrillianAstra · 07/09/2010 08:38

No signs of any rings of fire yet! Having a greek yoghurt with honey for breakfast so maybe that'll chase it and calm it down!

NormaSknockers · 07/09/2010 08:43

Sounds like a good plan, maybe DP will bear the brunt Grin

Have DS2 with me today, they stagger the start of reception, so he doesn't start until Monday, but he is getting jealous when I drop DS1 off.

Went to the gym yesterday evening, was good with food. Still feel belurgh, can't still be a hangover, can it??

Hope the soothing yoghurt works Trills Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/09/2010 09:38

DD1 too excited to eat breakfast here Shock. She is going to the same preschool as last year but Tues is reserved for those in their actual preschool year. She skipped in and gave her keyworker a big hug

Enjoy your child free day Mittz Smile

TrillianAstra · 07/09/2010 12:21

Hi MyCat!

Somehow when working at home I manage to gets lots of MNing and quite a bit of work done. I don;t know how. Less chatting to colleagues?

VinegarTits · 07/09/2010 12:37

Hello shiners

rant alert: (please ignore if you want Grin)

Second day at breakfast club this morning and the staff were 30 mins late opening up Shock hence i was late for work and not happy Angry

im not impressed, one member of staff turned up after 15 mins and didnt have a key and wasnt even sure who was supposed to be working that morning Hmm she just shrugged, silly cow,

The receptionist (who was also stood outside waiting) ran one of the managers who came in a taxi with a key, by this time there were about 15 children waiting to go in and only 2 memebers of staff,

so i asked about the child to staff ratio and was dismissed by snotty manager and told 'the ratio is correct' how the fuck did she know, she had just rushed in and not had time to count the children that were waiting outside Confusedand im paying these idiots to look after my son Angry

Rant over

BOF loving the space invader Grin

VinegarTits · 07/09/2010 12:47

and i know the ratio is 1:4 for under 3's 1:8 for over 3's, and there were definately more than 4 babies waiting to go in

Slightly concerned that i have made a mistake with this new nursery, and its a surestart nursery too!

TrillianAstra · 07/09/2010 12:57

Oh, it's a nursery thing, I was confused about adult:child ratio because I thought it was a school breakfast club, and there must be more than 8 children per adult in reception class.

Lizzylou · 07/09/2010 12:59

That is terrible, Vinny.
I would ask to speak with the manager and also say that if it happens again you won't be paying.

Has the school got a breakfast club? I know ours hasn't, just a nursery nearby which runs before and after school clubs.

If they are connected to the school go to the Head and complain.

Loos/bathrooms cleaned, boy's laundry put away, just mine to do now.
Bleurgh.

Crispy Grin not bloody likely!!!

Mycat!! Hey, how are you? Hope DD enjoys school.

VinegarTits · 07/09/2010 13:03

Yes its a surestart run nursery, and its bloody expensive too, i was actually going to tell the manager that i wont be paying for the session this morning, would that be unreasonable?

Lizzylou · 07/09/2010 13:05

No, it wouldn't Vinny.
I'd say that your wages are docked if you're late and if they are not there then they can swivel for the money.

Prob in a politer fashion though Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/09/2010 13:14

I know with school breakfast clubs you are not supposed to rely on it as 'childcare', but if you are paying the nursery for a preschool session then you are within your rights to be pissed off and let them know it

Just thought i'd check Lizzy Wink

Mycat, Hope DD1 has a good couple of hours afternoon Grin

Have just shredded (level 3). Shower and food calling
