I am very, very bad at pregnancy - hate it from start to finish, not including the SPD. I am also appalling at dealing with small babies. They reduce me to a snivelling wreck on the constant brink of ringing Social Services. I find parenting a constant struggle which is only negotiated by dint of constant whingeing on-line and in person to everyone I know. Now that my younger daughter has turned two - and I indeed have turned 42 - I am finally reclaiming some sense of my life As It Was Known Before.

Please remind me that I don't want another baby and that my current broodiness is just a pre-menopausal blip of insanity!

Oh, yes, you have to have sex
That is a problem, of course.

Gobbledigook · 01/08/2005 13:55

Frogs is absolutely spot on! And links nicely with the fact that I am neither laid back or patient so 3 is quite enough!

aloha · 01/08/2005 13:55

Mind you, only had to do it once to get dd

No, it is NOT going to happen and I am just being Very Silly.

Oh Anchovy, I know...on one level.
But alas I had a stillbirth at 21 weeks at 39, no cause ever found, and I do sometimes worry it was a sheer age bad luck thing. Obviously I then had bonny little dd a year later, and I know heaps of Mumsnetters with wonderful nippers born at 40 plus, but sometimes it preys on my mind.
None of which should detract from a welcome opportunity to tease a most Superior Mumsnetter

bossykate · 01/08/2005 13:56

i found a childrens' clothes shop you would adore yesterday, kent & carey on bellevue rd, do you know it?

bossykate · 01/08/2005 13:57

That has to be the sneakiest post to date on this thread Janh. And you a Mod too.

katierocket · 01/08/2005 13:59

another hijack but can I just say how lovely it is to hear stories of late 30s early 40s conceptions. We've been trying for 14 months for #2 and feeling very desperate as time ticks away (I'm 33).

MI - It was chaos at her house but lovely chaos but I was shocked at how utterly exhausted she looked.

Bet Cod would have something else to say on this though!

suzywong · 01/08/2005 13:59

bloody hell I'm very broody now, look at his dear little handy in that white romper suit, JUST LOOK!!!!!

katierocket · 01/08/2005 14:00

oooo Janh, you sneaker

aloha · 01/08/2005 14:01

oooh BK, I have some second hand Kent and Carey clothes for dd! Don't tempt me. I spent Too Much Money in the Rachel Riley sale this week. And that was on one divine little smocked dress for dd and a dear Christopher Robin-ish jumper with collar and pockets for ds. They have little button strap mary jane shoes for girls in sugared-almond coloured metallic leather which made my heart literally beat faster!

Mum2girls · 01/08/2005 14:01

Blimey that's got us all going!! He is gorgeous.

In the same position as you MI - 42 with a 2yo and a 4yo.........with one minor difference, DP has recently had the snip, so decision settled.

Marina · 01/08/2005 14:01

And harping on about his total cuteness from a safe distance down under helps not a jot either, Wong

aloha · 01/08/2005 14:02

Oh, bless, bless, bless to little Callum. You see? Babies are lovely.

wilbur · 01/08/2005 14:02

oh janh - sneaky or what? Lovely though...

bossy kate - kent and carey on Bellevue is my mil's fave shop. They have very good sales too.

aloha · 01/08/2005 14:03

dot1 · 01/08/2005 14:04

Beautiful photo (sigh..!)

katierocket · 01/08/2005 14:04

why isn't there a Kent and Carey shop in manchester? [sulk]

Marina · 01/08/2005 14:04

I had to fabricate a tale about work being total pants to avoid going near the Hoxtonchicklet. (Actually, that is a lie. Work was pants and I could have done with a teeny cuddle).
