I am also hoping to use my stretchy for night time (use pocket during the day) as it looks so comfortable so let me know how you get on! I am thinking some hemp/bamboo booters and a fleece liner?

JennyPenny22 · 03/03/2010 22:48

Sorry not got time to catch up properly but will do at some stage.

My BG flip broke yesterday, the popper broke, leaving a very sharp bit of plastic inside Elouises nappy, next to her skin. Luckily, she told me her nappy was hurting so I checked it out, but had it been Talia wearing it, I probably wouldn't have known!
What should I do? I feel quite annoyed that this has happened!

salbysea · 03/03/2010 22:55

oh yeouch! glad she was able to tell you! I wonder if it was a one off or something that more people will find, aren't flips quite new?

yes flips are very new, which makes me wonder about reporting it to BG or something, but from what I know, they are not the easiest people to comunicate with. This Nappy had only been used a couple of times, so wasn't because it was too worn or something.

CharlottesClan · 04/03/2010 09:53

got the poncho octo, postman came with it just before i went out yesterday and got home very late after quite a few glasses of wine so wasnt up to the pooter

have emailed you

so other then WN, BB and UD, what other side snap pockets/aio/ai2 are out there? charlie has such a narrow waist and chunky thighs so only stuff with independent legs and waist are any good for him
hence the nappy cull!

we are fine for fitteds, just have losts of NL, but i wanted some pockets that arnt furry?

mumface · 04/03/2010 10:06

Jenny- would definately contact them, that's not right, what if a baby had put the popper bit in it's mouth!

CC- I am using side snap Swaddlebees pockets on Lewis and they are really good for big thighs/small waist.

CharlottesClan · 04/03/2010 10:11

thanks mumface off to google them

jen i would contact them and get it exchanged, sounds like its not been put on straight or something and its just popped off. hope they are good for you!

greenbaby have irritated me, i have a faulty itti (crinkly pul) and they want me to trek to greenwich to exchange it instore

bagpuss · 04/03/2010 12:37

Oh no Jenny, hope you get it sorted.

CC, that's annoying. I've decided that my one wrinkly itti I can live with as it doesn't actually leak or anything and so I can't really be bothered to exchange it for now. DH says it would count as wear and tear (he is a lawyer) and so I would not likely get an exchange unless it doesn't do the job it should (i.e. catch wee and poo). What about Pocket Bots for side snap nappies? Also I found an interesting looking one size one called Knicker Nappies the other day here. They have a few other things there too which I have never seen before.

I have just bought two in stock WNNN . DH paid although he doesn't actually know that yet .

Only fluffy post here today was 4 silver liners which is not very exciting. They turned up just as I was changing dt1 and so she has one in her tots bots now to see if it helps the wierdy spotty rash disappear for good. Am eagerly awaiting the next change time lol.

Sal, sounds like you have had some lovely fluffy post yesterday. The monkeyfoot bags are lovely - I really like mine and would order another only I don't need one really.

Mumface, hope you are feeling better soon .

CharlottesClan · 04/03/2010 12:51

see mine actually leaks.

and to top it off, another one i bought on cnt, from a regular user also has pul issues.

so all in all, im not loving ittis atm am very about it!

going to trek to the shop this weekend, and try and get both exchanged but i have had and email from itti themselves who will exchange any faulty ones. obviously i dont want to pay the postage to australia..
so will see what happens this weekend

JennyPenny22 · 04/03/2010 14:05

Have just looked at BG website and looks like I would have to pay to have the nappy sent to the UK distributor and they would examine it to see if I can get a replacement. feel a bit annoyed though as I only just bought it.

It wasn't just that the popper came off, it broke in half so it was really sharp plastic loose in her nappy.

4andnotout · 04/03/2010 14:26

Jenny have you tried contacting the place you bought it from? They may replace it for you?

Aw no! Please somebody talk me down! Wee Notions have added new embroideries and one of them is a chef I don't need any more nappies!!! But dh would love it, lol.

Myjob, we got pixifotos done last year and they were absolutely gorgeous - wish I could afford to do it again just now as K was just teeny at the time and he's changed such a lot.

Bad job for all the faulty nappies

Hi to everyone else

NappyShedSal · 04/03/2010 18:20

Jenny - the responisbility lies with teh reatiler you bought the nappy from to get it replaced - it is not the customers job to contact BG direct. Anyway BG have a 6 month guarantee on their nappies so you are well within that.

octothechildherder · 04/03/2010 19:41

Yep - neeed to return to retailer Jenny.

Busy here - haven't read really

Will catch up tomorrow

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2010 20:33

Just a quick hello from me, as I wanted to respond to myjob's post about the stretchy.....mine took at least 6 washes to get up to speed, and I find that bamboo needs a lot of prewashing before it starts to distribute the wee evenly through the nappy and that until then it can just come right through.

and arse about the BG flips; will be keeping an eye on mine.

got some secret fluff yesterday, and have some more wool waiting for me at the PO. DS1 has invested some mooney in the woolies business; not that he knows it!!!

right that's all from me; hope all the itti issues get resolved. Mine is OK, but tbh we never use it!! love my pockets and easyfits too much at the minute.

JennyPenny22 · 04/03/2010 20:37

Thanks. I just feel bad for her! As it was quite cheap anyway. It was from Cheeks and Cherries.

Well I think I am going to be buying some sposies tomorrow. Am struggling to jeep up with washing while trying to pack the house up. And I need to pack the nappies at some stage. Somebody has put down a deposit today on our house which means we will have about 2 weeks to move, we are just waiting for a date now and off to hopefully find us a new house tomorrow.

Talia has just been sick everywhere again though and now DH might be staying here with her. I just don't think I feel comfortable though leaving her with him for a whole day after he has done a night shift? He went to work an hour ago and will be home at about 7.30am and wont get any sleep at work. He is such a deep sleeper, if he fell asleep Talia wouldn't wake him up. . But we NEED to find a new house asap and am seeing 6+ tomorrow and also going to sort out the storage place down there hopefully. But if we all go tomorrrow then Talia will prob give the bug to her 3 little uncles (2, 4 and 6years old).

salbysea · 04/03/2010 20:58

oooo bagpus had a look on your link and now I want rumparoos and ecobubs!
must resist though!
If I sell some nappies I'll let myself get them :-D
thinking of selling my cushie tushie and easyfits in favor of pocket nappies stuffed with coolababy inserts as they are so quick drying and I have no outside space. That way the airer wouldn't need to be up permanently.

Still haven't taken the plunge with cloth at night. I gather that a 2 piece system will be best for night? any recommendations for a good inner nappy for this which will dry quite quickly? Will give my stretchy a go once its been washed a few times but as yet I have no idea how well it'll perform and dry.

bagpuss · 04/03/2010 21:19

Sal, I think the stretch bamboozle takes a while to dry unless you have an airing cupboard or a radiator to put them on. I really like my Nature Babies Big Softies for nights as they have a fleece lined pocket and come with two boosters which come out for quick drying. They are one size too so fit from very tiny. I also liked Easy Peasy Bumbles when ds2 was in nappies. They are pretty similar to the Big Softies but the booster poppers in to the nappy and the pocket opening is at the front. They are also wider in the crotch than the Nature Babies. If you wanted a pocket for nights then a standard minki pocket is also good. We had one for ds2 and the large size lasted him from 8 months until he was 3.5 which made it fantastic value for money. I used to stuff it with a terry square or with three fuzzi bunz inserts to last all night and it never let us down - they are huge though! Kittykins has them reduced at the moment too.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2010 21:54

sal, something in microfibre or fleece with a wooly cover would be good.

I have used lollipop micro with wool covers effectively, although I'm sure a fleece cover would be good over them too (just not tried that combo, but I will tomorrow night and report back!!). Both will dry really quickly though.

Babybots · 04/03/2010 22:02

Hi All,

Just getting around to catching up so poping in quick again!

Jenny send it back to C&C, she'll sort it for you no problem, you dont need to send it to the distributor, it lies with the retailer to sort it for you and then go back to the distributor. - Just like you would have for a customer with a faulty nappy. Send it back.

Poor Faulty nappies, Ittis do have a tendancy to go crunchy and the shells are not good with heat! My AIO's are fine, but my SIOs are a bit crunchy as long as they dont leak they are fine.

Right back of to read!!

Love the new site Octo! Bespokebabyroom
(for those without facebook)
Those soaps look good enough to eat- the kids would definately have to have a taste!!

Scotia · 05/03/2010 18:19

Octo, the PP soaker arrived today, thanks for the super quick delivery I have the longies parcelled up but not been out today so it will be tomorrow morning for posting them. I've had a rotten cold hanging over me all week and still feel lousy, but dh is off tomorrow so he'll post them if I don't feel like going out.

Well, I've decided to get K back into night nappies now he's finally sleeping through (well most nights ) but I only had one WNNN left! I've bought another 2 pre-loved and one arrived today so we'll see how we get on for the next couple of nights. I think I'm going to have to do something about building up my night nappy stash
