Evening all

Had a fantastic birthday, thank you all for you wellwishes Have had a good day but have been brought crashing down to earth with a thud when we got home this evening, just hope it can be sorted

Anyway, how did i miss the itti bitti giraffe limited edition? I know i have been off the fluff patrol for a bit, but it snuck right past me without even noticing and now im going to need one! Might have to try and order one from oz next week if they still have them (although our dire finacial prediciment will probably veto fluff)

Hope everyone is fine, im going to go and wake dp up who seems to be upstairs snorning, whilst i sit here with churning guts with worry

the friend I lent a nappy selection to thought the same as I did about one-lifes (which is nice in one way but on the other hand means I cant sell em to her LOL)

I am loving coolababys more and more. My current favorite I think! If I wash em in the evening they (including inserts) are dry in the morning and so far I've never had a leak with a coolababy. Got 2 more in the post today (thank you Jenny) but think I might just go for one in every color or maybe 2 in every color? they'd be perfect for sending to nursery - ready made up pockets are the way to go for nurseries and CMs I think!

Had a leaky itti today but it was an evil teething poo explosion so don't think the poor nappy stood a chance really! I still love ittis! Was going to go for a first night in cloth tonight but chickened out because of the teething poo.

My wish list at the mo is a pirate wee notions, a popper blueberry cheetah, or maybe dalmation?? (have an aplix one already but prefer poppers) and prob more ittis and coolababys.

At the mo I am just washing in ecover non-bio. can I use calgon too?

bagpuss: That's really interesting that your little one's skin seems better with suedecloth too! Wonder if there are other babies out there with skin issues from nappies who would benefit from suedecloth! Just a pity there aren't more nappies easily available with that kind of inner. Though I realised the other day (when browsing an Australian blog that was doing various give-aways) that there seem to be quite a few people making nappies over there with suedecloth. And looking on HyenaCart one finds WAHMs making them with suedecloth in USA too. So guess it's just the UK that is almost exclusively fleece/minki - apart from PocketBots, that is. We've got a PocketBots v2 and certainly it's far better than the older style ones were (they leaked/wicked like terrible and were very unreliable, imho!) so the new outer fabric is a lot better, and the trim fit between the legs makes a nice fit for Benjamin (nearly 3y). But they are VERY narrow between the legs, meaning you need very slim inserts to go inside. Main downside to this is that it seems when I stuff it with wider inserts/too much stuffing, I end up with leaks/damp transfer to clothes.

Did you manage to try a GreenKids yet? I still love them best for Clement! I keep seeing them come up for sale on CNT and ClothTots and are very tempting, but I do have more than enough of a stash of them for him, so really don't need any. But they have lovely sized pockets for stuffing - and very easy and quick for getting hand inside to stuff. Prob the easist I've seen even - just so nice & roomy.

Rachel, yes the suedecloth inners was only something that I noticed when we got out flips and then I stopped using paper liners in everything else and use minkee ones now. Either combos seem to make a bit of a difference. I thought that last week when we were using dispos in hospital her rash would have cleared but it actually went worse and then did go less pink but dried out and went all scaly. She has the same rash sometimes on her face and I just usually put epiderm on it to get rid but it seems to make less of an impact on her thighs. The HV said just some nappy free time would be best. I still haven't tried greenkids! Would love to but need more WNOS or side snaps (am in a quandary over which) - I am having to be careful because when the dts outgrow their size one stuff I have way too much size two left over from ds2 . I think I need to do some stash thinning .

Bag is here and is really good - very pleased with it as it is much roomier than the babymel one I had before. I love some of the new Skip Hop features too - I had an original duo for ds2 and it had a black lining which meant you could never see what was in it but this one has a silver lining which is a lot better also so many pockets!

4 glad you had a nice birthday and I hope you manage to sort out whatever has gone wrong.

Sal, every time I say I hate my ittis on here I end up loving them again . They are one of the most absorbent nappies we own but sadly I think my small ones are about to be outgrown . I think I will probably get some more in medium but not sure how many - dh was like this when I told him how much they were.

JennyPenny22 · 25/02/2010 14:01

sal - haven't parcelled up your second order yet so if you want more then let me know!! Lol.

salbysea · 25/02/2010 15:17

Jenny I've only ordered once so far? (unless I am going completely mad have I been getting up and buying nappies in my sleep?)
have PMed you about more on CNT

salbysea · 25/02/2010 15:37

NOW I've ordered again that'll make my coolababy rainbow complete (well, apart from pink or white!)

thebluefoxategreensocks · 25/02/2010 16:12

Shouldn't have said last night that we didn't need anymore GreenKids! Just gone and bought 2 off ClothTots this afternoon! oops! Another saturn blue Anytimes (which we already have 1 of) and a Cobalt Minkytimes, which will be a new colour to our collection!

I really should sell off our Bumgenius v2s - must have 5 white ones with inserts that I just never reach for. Have to admit that Benjamin is wearing sposies most of the time , but I only really use the Flips on him when he's in cloth - so no need for the BG pockets ... and then I might not feel so bad about GK purchases!

Hehe, myjob, I think dh will have a cardiac arrest when he sees what I have been up to on the WN website. Suzanne has done me an excellent cowboy scene embroidery . Mind you the dts had their os pockets on today and the rash on dt1's thighs has almost completely disappeared . Now this of course means that I will be requiring a lot more WNOS immediately .

salbysea · 25/02/2010 18:51

LOL my DH keeps banging on about how much money we are saving on disposables - I tell him the price of the cheap ones like coolababys and second hand ittis but not the blueberrys and WNs

JennyPenny22 · 25/02/2010 23:48

Have had a friend over and gone through lots of Wine - and feeling it so just ignore me.

mumface · 26/02/2010 10:06

Morning all, have just listed 2 LE Itt's as I have 2 in both colours already and a WNNN. These nappies are overtaking my house now. Got to streamline.
Hope everyone is well!

octothechildherder · 26/02/2010 10:08

Hello Rusmum, morning Mumface

Am having a tidy up and off to toddlers with ernie - no fluff here - lots of wipes, but not fluffy wipes lol - as a non wipe user is a bit alien but great compared to normal ones. Apologies for ramble lol - better go and take the little man out!

bagpuss · 26/02/2010 13:29

Afternoon all . I've just put an order in for 4 WNOS Not sure what came over me really! This is what child benefit was intended for though isn't it?

Am liking the plan for only discussing the less frivolous purchases too .

Let me know what you think! I think these are unique, and I love them!
